The Guardians’ Throne – The First Magic Swordsman - Chapter 493
Zaos fought back and insisted on not losing his second weapon. He had the strength with magic to do that. However, he had enhanced his arms too much, and his muscles were starting to pay the price for it. In the end, Zaos decided to let his sword go… he was draining the mana of the enemy, and while he could fight using magic and a sword, he didn’t have to combine them at the same time at every single opportunity.
After noticing that Drannor could no longer attack while he was dodging the massive hand of sand, Zaos decided that it was time to focus on magic. He never used that much, but he began to fire Thunder Swords toward Elisius’ head in the end. While the spell didn’t exist, he could create it just by increasing the amount of mana on Wind Sword.
When the first projectiles hit his nape, Elisius got paralyzed for a moment, and then his whole body began to emit that dark miasma that could only be created by dark emotions… Zaos also felt his mana increasing. While that was good for him, since he could absorb more mana, he couldn’t let Elisius become even stronger.
Zaos decided to use all his mana instead of waiting to recover fully and paralyze him. He achieved that by increasing the number of projectiles, he fired and as fast as possible. While he was paralyzed, Elisius couldn’t control his magic sand, Drannor used that chance to attack, and he did something unexpected… he jumped toward the chest of the demon god. Zaos and Elisius frowned when they saw that, but instead of attacking, he climbed the chest and approached Zaos.
“Hurry up and use that magic on me again,” Drannor said.
It was hard to say what the hell Drannor was talking about, but Zaos still used Thunder Armor on him. He had only enough mana to grant him the power to let the spell active for ten seconds, but Drannor didn’t wait for him to say that. Drannor immediately ran toward Elisius’ head, and then blood began to rain down. Elisius completely forgot about Zaos while Drannor was attacking his head. He tried to protect himself from the sand, but Drannor was much faster than that. It was because Drannor was enhancing his body even more with the blood his sword was gathering…
Zaos thought that those words didn’t work well with each other. While one of them was good for someone like Zaos, who could use a weapon and magic at the same time, the other wasn’t that useful against mages. Still, it was extremely powerful against large amounts of enemies. However, Zaos was forced to change his mind when he saw Drannor attacking and causing massive damage while destroying the head of the demon god… maybe it wasn’t the compatibility between the weapons, but his teamwork. Nevertheless, Zaos couldn’t help but smile while watching that.
Before the effects of Thunder Armor could end, Elisius enveloped both hands with the sand he had summoned and then tried to smash Drannor. Upon noticing that his speed was decreasing, Drannor jumped away from the enemy and landed on a pile of rubble. When Elisius prepared to kick him, he felt a shiver when he suddenly felt something piercing his nape. While Drannor was attacking him, Zaos pulled Guardian’s Heart and then climbed the back of the enemy. Still, the neck of the demon god was so thick that Zaos didn’t hit any nerve. With his hands covered in sand, Elisius tried to crush Zaos, but he was forced to stop again when his body suddenly bent forward, and he felt a sharp pain in his right knee… Drannor had acted likewise and attacked the knee, making his sword pierce the bones deeply and damage the whole bone.
Elisius thought that assuming that form would be enough to defeat them, it something that he didn’t even try twenty-five centuries ago, and it was something he had thought when he would have to fight thousands of enemies or his mortal enemy… and yet, despite the difference in power, Zaos and Drannor still could fight him. They were exhausted, and their wounds were pilling up. Meanwhile, Elisius wasn’t that hurt… still, he recognized that if he didn’t do anything, they might cause a lot of trouble… a lot more.
Elisius could become more powerful if he let negative emotions control him. Still, at the moment, he was sweating cold because he was contemplating his possible defeat… he couldn’t get angry or jealous of those two. He could only fear their possibilities. Without any other choice, Elisius decided to take some chances, and after covering his left chest, head, and neck with the sand, he opened several other portals back to the other world. Since he wasn’t there, he couldn’t drain their mana completely, but he could at least absorb their negative emotions. Considering that they lost most of the power that Elisius granted them and the enemies must have been massacring them for the past minutes, the survivors must have their hearts filled with hatred. With that in mind, Elisius waited for the dark energy to come… but it never came.
“HAHAHAHA!” Zaos laughed so hard that his stomach began to hurt. “I didn’t expect this… I truly didn’t expect this.”
Elisius opened a hole in his helmet of sand, and when he saw what was happening back on that planet… he saw his zombies being burned by magic crossbows. Meanwhile, his descendants and those that had turned into demons had been caged and or had been tied up with ropes. Not a single of them had been killed once they lost their powers.
“You forgot that your power is what caused your people to be feared… once you took it back, their enemies realized that they didn’t have to kill them,” Zaos said.. “Most likely, even your descendants realized that their hatred was too profound, and they surrendered… it seems your curse of fear is also a double-edged sword.”
