The Heiress - Chapter 14
“BANG!!–”
A loud thud woke Hui Yin up. She looked at her bedside and saw that it was still 3 in the morning. Looking up on the ceiling, she recalled yesterday’s events. She was on autopilot when she confronted Ex-Commander General, Ji Tao Gin but seeing him agree to work for her, she immediately gave him a place to stay. Hmmm…guess I have to deal with him now huh?
Hearing a loud noise once again, she got up and walked to where the sound was coming from.
“What are you doing, Gin?” Hui Yin said as she saw him sprawled on the floor, he looked exhausted his shirt was full of sweat.
“Nothing” he quickly got up and walked towards his bed and sat there. Seeing the signs of struggle all around the room, she guessed what had happened.
“Habits die hard huh?” she said. He grunted then walked in the bathroom “I’ll be preparing breakfast, come down when you’re done and we’ll talk” she continued, walking out of the room.
…
After they ate breakfast, they proceeded to the living room and both sat, Gin, waiting for her to finish reading a document.
“Ji Tao Gin, age 38, male. Worked as Commander General for the Martial Troupe in Guam, was transferred to Pakistan. Dead. Body not found” hearing the words come out from her mouth without a change of tone, you would feel that what she was saying was a story, but to Gin, it was like a bucket of water was poured over him. “Now, tell me why you were presumed dead?” she continued. He opened his mouth to say something but held it.
“fine then, how about Mr. Si Long?” a glint flashed in his eyes when he heard the name, still, he kept silent.
“I know you know him. He was next in command with you wasn’t he? He told them you were dead, took your place, and gained the title of ‘Nation’s Hero’ which should’ve been yours. Tell me Gin, do you want to take back what’s supposed to be yours?” Hui Yin knew that this was his weak spot, but she didn’t tell him everything concerning the matter yet.
“Yes” was his answer
“very well then, I will help you. Before that though, we mist first heal that hand of yours” everything he heard from Hui Yin was a shock to him. He had never expected someone to still believe in him and even more so, help him. This made him doubt the girl, he wanted to know why she was helping him.
“why?” his voice was rigid.
“Hmm, now that you’re my employee, it is only natural to help you like family.”
“t-thank you” his voice cracked. Helping him heal his hand was one thing but helping him get revenge was another…still, happiness came so suddenly…was it really okay to accept it? He decided to just go with the flow and see what this girl would do
“Now, let’s get down to business shall we?” she said as she clicked a button underneath the table. Everything in the room changed. The once warm and homey-looking living room was now filled with different guns, and cabinets filled with different gadgets and files. Taking out a file that had ‘confidential’ written on it, she passed it to a stupified Gin as she recited the contents.
“Mr. Si Long, long time member and youngest sibling of the leader of the Black Python, Mr. Si Pei. As you know, Black Python is the strongest mercinary gang in Mexico and is known to be the most slippery ones as no military troop was able to even locate them. Him working undercover in the military, much more being a commander, gives him access to confidential files. You know what I mean, don’t you Gin?”
“Yes, it means that he gives the information to the gang which allows them to know all about the military. Why did I not see this?”
“haha don’t worry, everybody who did was killed by him. Luckily, you survived”
“wh-who are you?”
“me? I’m Hui Yin” she smiled
“Hui…you! Are you someone related to Hui Han??”
“I am, in fact, he is my father” this made Tao Gin even more shocked, now there was a hint of respect flashed in his eyes.
“This is not some information you should be dwelling on. For now, I am known as Anna Lin. You on the other hand will be staying in this villa until you fully recover and will be taken under the care of doctors. Am I understood?”
a fire lit in his eyes. Now, he was sure he followed the right person. He stood up and bowed deeply to Hui Yin, afterwhich he saluted “Yes, young miss”
Hui Yin handed him a CZ 75B SPO1 9mm handgun and a high spec otto phone.
“while recuperating, train with this then hold on to this phone. I will call you from time to time”
“will you be going?”
“yes, and oh Mr. Mark, and other housekeepers will be back soon, do be a gentleman and introduce yourself.”
“yes, young miss”
“one more thing, do not touch my cars”
with that she walked out and drove herself back to her aparment, leaving a dumbfounded Gin behind. Curious, he walked to her garage and found out what she meant. He broke out into fits of laughter. Indeed, the harmless looking girl was interesting.
….
On the way back to her apartment, Hui Yin received a call.
“Anna”
“yes, Mr. Cheng?”
“I need you. Princeton Gates, Block A. 12 pm. Don’t be late” she looked down on her clothes, she wanted to change as it was an inappropriate attire when meeting with her boss but seeing as it was already 10:30, she turned her car around and drove to the given coordinates
“on my way, Mr. Cheng”
