The Heiress - Chapter 30 Do I Like Him?
“Do you…perhaps..like ‘Mr. Cheng?”
The question came up to her so suddenly that it made her wonder that as well.
Do I like him?
It took her a while but with no emotions written on her face, she replied “I admire Mr. Cheng’s work in the company. I am happy tp work with his kind of boss”
“eh?” does that mean that..that idiot Ming-ha didn’t make a move on her at all?
Looking at the woman in front of her, Lai Lily didn’t know what to say
“is that all, Ms. Lai?”
“ah…yes, thank you Ms. Lin” she cheekily grinned
‘she isn’t as bad as I thought’ Hui Yin thought
“Well then, Ms. Lai, I shall get going. Good day”
Hui Yin gracefully walked towards the door, carrying her box but looked back when it was slightly ajar.
“Forgive me for judging you too early. Have fun” she smiled and closed the door. Lai Lily took a few seconds before she processed what had occured. She chuckled and soon, laughed out loud.
‘She’s interesting’
…..
Hui Yin walked toward the elevator but was blocked by Veronica who sneered at her
“heh, looks like sucking up didn’t do the trick?”
Hui Yin glanced at her before she smirked “on the contrary, I’m being trusted to manage the CEO’s company at another country. Good day Ms. Veronica”
“You bi***, let’s see how long you can last”
“hmmm in the meantime, let’s see how long you can last once they find out who’s mistress you are..haha let’s see indeed” Hui Yin smiled at her and walked in the elevator closing it while Veronica was petrified.
Sh-she knows..???
SHE KNOWS!!!
“Ms. Lin! Ms. Lin!! wait please!! Aahhh–!!”
Veronica slipped as she rushed towards Hui Yin.
With a sprained leg, she ran down from the 20th floor to the ground floor, nearly 1,800 flights of stairs. Just to catch up to Hui Yin, but when she went out, Hui Yin was nowhere to be found
” sh*t sh*t sh*t sh*t sh*t sh*t sh*t SH*T!!!”
“Hush Ms. Veronica! Mind your manners inside the company!” one of the staff reprimanded
Embarrassed, she ran outside the building and rode a taxi home.
While Veronica went home embarrassed, Hui Yin on the other hand was sitting in the driver’s seat placing both palms on her hot face.
‘Do you…perhaps..like ‘Mr. Cheng?’
The question kept repeating in her mind. Although she answered Lai Lily the same thing she would tell anybody else, her heart skipped a beat for a moment which made her slightly hesistant.
Suddenly, while inside her car,she giggled like a highschool girl placing her hands on her lips.
There was a warm feeling growing inside her. It gave her new sensations and made her feel fuzzy inside
‘you don’t deserve to love’
this thought made the feeling she had earlier on, vanish. Indeed…she didn’t deserve it…
People may think that Hui Yin lacked nothing and that she was perfect, but what was the difference of not lacking material objects, lands and gold when she lacked the love of a mother and brother? Especially when she felt the guilt of killing them both?
With this in thought, she smiled bitterly at this fact and drove her car back to the apartment.
This was the wound that embedded deep in her heart. No scars were seen but only she had felt the agonizing pain that welled up in her.
Her father may not have blamed her for it but this caused her to hurt more…..made her feel guilty even more
During the past few years, she had tried running away from it. Hiding the pain in her eyes in her facade. Acting like nothing happened
She did not expect that the more she tried running away from it, the more obsessed she felt and the more her past haunted her.
Not long after, a voice kept talking inside of her. Feeding her more negativity than she could have imagined.
