The Heiress - Chapter 31 See You Again
January 1, Year 20XX
New Year came and it was finally time for Hui Yin to fly for another country.
She had packed all the things she needed, including a map of the country. This was the first time she was travelling alone into a foreign country. She was never able to come with her daddy on his trip to this place before.
But before she would leave, she had to make sure to know about her father’s whereabouts. Taking her phone out her handbag, she tried calling him but it would always redirect the call to voicemail. In her frustration, she sent him 99 e-mails before shutting her phone off and walking out of the apartment. She thought about taking a cab to the airport when a car suddenly pulled up in front of her, surprising her.
“Ms Lin, the boss instructed me to drive you to the airport”
“oh..very well then”
“please get inside the car”
“en”
The driver placed all the luggage she brought with her in the trunk and hastily went back to the driver’s seat. He was told to make sure that she wouldn’t miss her flight. Only he knew how terrifying it would be if he didn’t meet his boss’ expectations. It sent a chill up his spine just thinking about it.
Of course, Hui Yin wouldn’t make it hard for the man. She complied and sat in the back of the car. The drive there was very quiet. She didn’t try to strike a conversation with the fellow since it didn’t really cross her mind that she needed to. After all, they were both just doing their jobs.
‘jobs huh?’ Hui Yin sighed. She had expected to go on travels for the company but never expected it to be this long.
‘Not seeing him for a very long timeI wouldn’t be able to bear it..wai-NO what am I thinking about?’
“Miss Lin, we have arrived.”
The driver spoke snapping her out of her wandering thoughts. She got out of the car carrying her handbag. She didn’t need to bring the luggage herself as the airport had workers to do it for her. She looked back and saw that the driver was the only one sending her off. Taking a deep breath, she walked towards the departure area without looking back
‘From now on, for a year, I am alone’
Little did she know that about 8 meters away from where the car that brought her parked, there was another car with tinted windows. Inside the car, a man stared at the departing figure. Smirking he muttered “see you again”
“huh? Cheng Ming-ha, what did you say?” Lai Lily who was sitting in the driver’s seat asked. She didn’t hear what the poor idiot said
Cheng Ming-ha didn’t bother to answer as his line of sight was still on the fading sillhouette of the woman he was feeling attracted to.
“If you like her that much, why’d you send her away?” Lai Lily asked again but was met with silence
Only Cheng Ming-ha knew the reason why. Well, for starters, he felt enstranged by the feeling the woman gave him. It made him feel so comfortable whenever she was with him and as a businessman, this was like a threat. He was to never trust anyone.
That’s why, although he started to like her, he had to send her away. He thought that maybe the time they were apart would make him lose these feelings. The feelings that he hadn’t sorted out. But later on, he would realize that sending her away was a mistake. His first mistake.
When she was completely out of his sight, he peeled his eyes away and stared ahead. “go back”
“yes boss” Lily replied curtly, slightly pouting as he never bothered to explain.
.
Hui Yin sat down in her seat. She wasn’t in a private jet but in the business class of a public airplane. She wasn’t given the same privilage she had when she rode with the president.
“excuse me, can I join you?” glancing at the direction of the voice which was actually just right beside her, she looked up to the man with auburn hair. He had a pair of glasses that would almost make you miss the pair of hazelnut eyes and freckles. He had pinkish thin lips and a pretty face, in short, a man who could make sparks fly
“Hi” the man smiled showing his dimples “I’m Nathan. Nathan Sparks”
