The Heiress - Chapter 42 Bittersweet Feelings
While her face hear up, Hui Yin felt restless as she lay on her bed.
Badump Badump
The sound of her heart beat was so loud she could practically hear it. What happened earlier was not the way she should’ve acted. It got out of hand and should not happen once again or else….or else brother would punish me..
She couldn’t deny that she started to have feelings for him but Hui Yin couldn’t let it get to her. She still wasn’t able to atone for what happened to her brother.
Until…only until I solve my brother’s death..maybe..just maybe brother will forgive me and I can finally..fall in love
To her this was but a wish. She still had no clues on who did it since she had a memory gap at that particular time… She could only rememer him pushing her out of the vehicle’s way and him…dying
Sigh…these feelings are so sweet..yet so painful at the same time
Her room was dark and cold. It wasn’t as warm as it had been when she was flustered. No, her mood dampened once again. Until when would she finally have peace? She herself didn’t know.
Unable to fall asleep, she e-mailed her long awaited father telling him how she had been and asked him why he hadn’t answered her calls at all. She was worried, worried to lose the last family she could ever have.
..
Cheng Ming-ha wasn’t any better at falling asleep either. He had insomnia so he wasn’t able to get some sleep. Although he was away from work, he had his laptop with him so he used it to view work related documents.
From time to time he would look away and grin like an idiot. Clearly his focus would sway back to the time he first saw her blushing. It was really lovely and he wanted to see more of her sides like these in the future.
But for now…he had to minimize his ‘efforts’
…
Same time, China
A sickly and weak patient laid on his bed. He looked so different compared to before, he became thin, so thin that one would think he was a beggar saved from the streets. The man was pale like blood flowed out of his body. He looked nearly dead.
“Mr. Hui, there are two months left before your surgery….”
“I know,*cough* Ms. Xia I know. How has Yin been doing these past few months?”
“She wasn’t able to take the call last time, Mr. Hui. Ms. Yin went to Myanmar a month ago, apparently, she was promoted”
“hmm?”
“she’s been told to work as the temp. Vice-president for the new branch there.”
“ahh my Yin’er is doing well it seems…she’s always been an achiever” he glanced at the stained window “if her mother were here…she’d be proud as always”
“Mr. Hui, she has sent 114 e-mails that you’ve left unread.”
“filial too. Very well, give her a call”
“yes, Mr. Hui”
