The Heiress - Chapter 5
The meeting ended quickly. All she did was jot down the important points and keep her gaze on the president.
“Dismissed”
After the while, only the both of them were left in the room. Seeing as he didn’t get up from his seat, she didn’t get out of the room either since this was her job as a secretary.
“Reschedule flight earlier” he stood up and walked out as she followed suit
“Will that be for you only sir?”
“no”
“right away Mr. Cheng”
They both separated as she went back to her office. After rescheduling the flight, she had nothing to do so she read all the documents her office had.
ding~
Finally, something to do
“Mr. Cheng?”
“Phone number” phone number? who’s number?
“mine?” before she was able to stop herself from speaking, the word came right out.
He looked at her as if she just asked a stupid question
“right away, Mr. Cheng”
“go” after exchanging numbers, she went back
She mentally cussed for this embarrassment on her first day, but then again, who could really blame her? She didn’t know him well enough personally. Just some insider information from her father’s best friend, Cheng Ming-Ha’s grandfather.
His name was Cheng Shi Fei. Back when she was a child, her dad brought her to meet the old man. Apparently, her father has a lot of friends. Whenever she visited the old man, he would always talk about his grandson. How he raised him instead of his father. He kept saying that all his bastard of a son knew was to make children with different women. Soon, Hua Yin called Cheng Shi Fei grandfather since he became very fond of the little girl. He told the little Hui Yin that his son loved to rant, although she can’t really see that right now. Although Cheng Shi Fei knew about Hui Yin, it didn’t mean that he told others about her, not even Cheng Ming-ha.

“Mr. Cheng, we leave in an hour” she stated over the glass door
“mmm”
5 minutes later both of the walked to his chauffeur and rode towards the airport. She didn’t bring anything with her but the bag she brought with her. In it was her personal laptop, phone, make up, wallet, and of course, her memo pad. Of course, she was fine with it. A year ago, she went to france for a meeting with one of the most famous designers of watches. She wanted to surprise him so she told him that she bought a villa there and would stay the night, it was a success in the end.
Cheng Ming-ha noticed that she did not speak to him along the way at all. There was a glint in his eyes as he found this secretary of his, interesting. It seemed as though the words he was waiting for her to ask was not said at all. As if she didn’t care that she didn’t bring clothes along with her.
They arrived at the airport and before boarding his private jet, she excused herself to make a phone call.
“Hello?” a soothing voice over the line calmed her
“Daddy, I’m going to France on my first day” she whined. Only to him could she really be true
“do you want to quit?”
“…no”
“then suck it up and deal with it”
” but daddy, I’m going with the infamous Ming-ha ge-ge” she sighed
“scared?” he chuckled “you know what Shi Fei told you about him. You are not so close to him as this is the first time you guys met anyway.” hearing this, Hui Yin smiled. She knew that her father would always know how to comfort her. Although it sounded like she didn’t care, this was after all her first trip with a stranger and though she bought a villa there, she only stayed for a day then abandoned it. It was still an unknown place to her.
“okay, how are you dad?”
“I’m fine. Well? Are you going to keep hiding in the bathroom stall and talk to me or are you going to get your game on and work?”
“how do you even know I’m doing that?”
“…have you forgotten who your father is?”
‘uh-oh’
“ehehehe no I didn’t. Bye dad”
…
The plane was in the air, the sun was setting and the atmosphere around the was very quiet. She loved it. It had always been a dream of hers to try working as a secretary but her dad never agreed to it, not until now. She always found her dad’s secretary, Xia Mei, amazing in doing her job that she admired her. She knew that being a secretary was taxing as they always had to take on the duties of the president when they were gone. Xia Mei was a single parent. She had a daughter named Xia Lan who became her close friend as well. She met Xia Lan earlier than Bai Feng, the trio became close friends, as close as siblings were. The first time she introduced Feng ge-ge to Lan, both of them fought over on who was closer to Hui Yin. This resulted to the both of them bickering from time to time, but when something happened to the other, one would show their concern.
While she was dozing off, a certain man kept his gaze on her the whole time, observing her from afar like what he always did when he was around people. While it was true that it was this girl’s first day at work, she did excellent. Her movements were fluid, her words short but straight to the point, she knew how to translate the very short words he said, and was very efficient in her job, and she didn’t irritate him by talking too much, but, it was still the first day. It is still too early to judge whether this girl was worthy of her position or not.
Just like that, the ride was silent and both of them didn’t speak a word to each other. Soon, both of them arrived in France
“please be seated and buckle your belts, we are now about to land in Paris, France”
