The Heiress - Chapter 9
Clinking and clanging sounds were heard in the suite’s kitchen. Opening his eyes, Cheng Ming-ha sat upright. He smelled his favorite blueberry pancakes.
He stood up and changed his clothes, wearing a white sweatshirt and khaki pants, he went to the kitchen. There, he saw a little girl going about and cooking up food. Staring at her profile, he saw that the girl had no make up on yet she was beautiful. Her eyelashes were thick and long, her cheeks and lips were rosy, her skin porcelain like and her hair was a shiny golden shade. She still wore the clothes she had on yesterday which meant that she didn’t leave.
Probably because the girl heard his movements, she slightly turned her head and saw him. He was gorgeous with his unruly hair
“Good morning Mr. Cheng” she bowed and continued cooking. She was immersed in her world again.
“mmm Morning” he grunted.
” I wipped up some pancakes if you don’t mind eating them and here is coffee too Mr. Cheng” she said as she placed the pancakes and coffee in front of him. He smiled, seeing this, her stomach felt like butterflies were fluttering inside. She lowered her head and walked out of the kitchen. Later, she came back with her coat on
“If you would excuse me, Mr. Cheng, I would like to go back to my aunt’s house to change”
“wait”
“yes, Mr. Cheng?” their gazes met, he saw her eyes were clear and deep, full of mysteries while the lather saw a cold and dark pair of eyes…it looked threatening but there was a glint in his eyes which she couldn’t fathom
“how did you know?”
“I fou– I didn’t know Mr. Cheng, I just cooked what I thought was breakfast.” she silently cursed at her slip up. Almost…I almost told him…
“…go” was the last word she heard before she turned her heels and walked out the door. When she was out, she heaved a sigh of relief. She walked out if the hotel and hailed for a taxi. When she arrived in her villa, she went to her bedroom which was painted in red, and fell asleep. She hadn’t fallen asleep the whole night and was working till the morning.
….
“Anna..” a familiar voice called her
“Anna, come on” it called again
“Anna wake up” she fluttered open her eyes to see a sillhouette of a girl smiling. She shuddered.
“Anna, you have to change your clothes. Brandon is waiting for you, he’s taking you somewhere”
The scene changed and she was now in a dark room. Her once fair skin was now pale and full of bloody cuts. Her lip was bruised and cut. Her chest had a bullet hole…she was dying
“no…no…no!! this can’t be happening!!” she cried but no tears came out.
“I have to get out!! Help me!! someone!!!! “she heard herself shout. She saw the girl’s sillhouette smirking evily at her.
“you shouldn’t have been born”
….
“No!!!” She woke up crying. Her hands were curled into a fist and she shivered. After a few minutes, she warmed up to her surroundings and calmed down. Yes, that’s right…it was just a nightmare…nothing to worry about..it’s gone…it’s gone…
She got her phone and saw that Ming-ha messaged her.
CMH: Hello
CMH: the pancakes were good
CMH: the coffee was great
CMH: thank you
CMH: this is my first time
CMH: Why aren’t you replying?
CMH: Where are you?
CMH: I am not sickly, really. I’ve been having a migraine since yesterday.
She chuckled at the messages. It was indeed true that he liked to talk huh…but seriously? first time chatting?
AL: I’m sorry Mr. Cheng, I fell asleep. Be back in 30 minutes
ding~
CMH: ok
Chuckling with the new information she had of him, she stood up and went to the bathroom and showered. After a while, Hui Yin came out wearing a pleated pencil skirt and a white Breton top . She booked for a taxi and went back to the hotel.
“What would you like to do today Mr. Cheng?”
she asked, looking cold and professional as she always had been eversince yesterday
“ooohh~~ so this is your new secretary..what a beauty” said a smiling guy with a honey blonde hair.
“Good day Mr. Chenire” she greeted politely as she bowed
“ehh you know me?” he looked surprised as he asked
“You are well known amongst women, Mr. Chenire” she replied. It seemed like a logical answer so the man let it go. Chenire Gallings was a popular hairstylist in France. He was featured in magazines for winning international competitions. He was known to be a notorious playboy but it seemed to be just a front to fool the public. Of course, this wasn’t the only information she had of him but she didn’t want him to know.
“Do you need me for anything, Mr. Cheng?” she asked the man once again, louder this time. He looked at her and pondered for a second.
“schedule?”
“you were supposed to go on a meeting today with Captain Lee, at the military base in Panama Mr. Cheng. I moved it. You also have some documents to sign regarding the matters of the Silver Ring project back in America. Nothing else” as she said so, she handed the papers to him then lowered her head and retreated.
“en” he looked at the papers and read them carefully before signing them
“anything else?” he asked
“no, Mr. Cheng, that is all”
“good, we’re going to an evening ball today. 8 pm sharp”
“yes, Mr. Cheng”
a few minutes later, he realized that she was still standing near him
“clothes?”
“I have already asked someone to take it up here, Mr. Cheng.”
“you”
“I will be wearing this Mr. Cheng”
“what??? my dear, you shouldn’t do that!!”
both Cheng Ming-ha and Hui Yin’s heads turned towards the presence of the person they seemed to have forgotten was there
