THE HERB KING - Chapter 304 Meeting Argus and the Tribe Leaders
Chapter 304 Meeting Argus and the Tribe Leaders
Amishta escorted Aethelwolf to the Lion Fang Tribe. Since they were going out to visit someone’s territory, she wore another set of armor that covered her voluptuous body, but she didn’t wear her mask this time.
Ten Barbarian warriors from the Proud Tiger Tribe followed them in their mounts. All of them were Level 4 fighters who were equipped with the best weapons and armor.
Aethelwolf glanced at the valiant Amishta with a look of admiration. This woman actually managed to rule over the largest Barbarian tribe in the Northern Region. He could already imagine the difficulties she faced before she had become the leader of the tribe. The scars on her body were the evidence of her past.
Amishta urged her mount to move near Aethelwolf. She then turned her gaze towards him and said. “We’re almost there. The Lion Fang Tribe has two Level 5 warriors, but I heard that a strong foreign Esper from the civilized region has taken residence in their territory. I haven’t seen that person yet, but people say that he is a Level 5 Esper. We haven’t confirmed this yet.”
Hearing this, Aethelwolf recalled the news he received from Estes. According to him, Argus was the person who sent him the news about the Underworlders. ‘Could it be Argus?’ He thought it his heart. He looked forward to seeing him in person. He wondered what kind of person he was.
Soon, Aethelwolf saw a settlement up ahead. It wasn’t as huge as the Proud Tiger Tribe, but they also have fierce warriors guarding their base.
A group of Barbarian warriors came out of the base to receive them. The person leading these warriors was dressed in clothes made from the fur of a high-level magical beast. He was almost eight feet tall and his muscular arms were screaming with strength! This guy had a bald head with a lion tattoo on the left side of his face.
“That man is Roderick, the leader of the Lion Fang Tribe. He is a late stage Level 5 warrior.?Don’t mess with him.” Amishta whispered.
Hearing this, Aethelwolf sized up the bald giant. He looked intimidating and this guy radiated a fearsome aura. If he was placed in the Heavenly Might Rankings, he would effortlessly rank in the top 5!
“You’ve finally come, Amishta! I would have sent someone to your base tomorrow if you weren’t here until tonight. Farmar is already waiting inside. That guy is slowly losing his patience so we should hurry up.” Contrary to his ferocious looks, Roderick didn’t seem to be a bad guy from the way he spoke.
“You actually managed to invite that old man to join you?” Amishta was surprised when she heard his words.
Roderick shook his head and chuckled as he replied. “I had to promise some benefits to move the old bastard. At least he was sincere and brought more than half of his warriors. Follow me inside. I want to hear your thoughts about this.”
“Alright.” Amishta wanted to introduce Aethelwolf, but since Roderick seemed to be in a hurry, she decided to do it later.
Aethelwolf didn’t know who this Farmar guy was, but when he heard the contents of their conversation, he guessed that this person might be a tribe leader as well.
Roderick led them inside the camp of the Lion Fang Tribe.
There were Barbarian warriors in the open space who are receiving military training. Their training was crude, but it was enough to train these simple-minded warriors.
Aethelwolf saw little children who looked to be nine or ten years old. They were carrying a dead magical beast that looked like a camel. It was just a low-level magical beast, but those kids actually managed to hunt one all by themselves! Seeing this, Aethelwolf couldn’t help but praise them in his heart.
Soon, they arrived in front of a two-story stone house.
Everyone dismounted and walked inside the house. Upon entering, Aethelwolf saw a group of people sitting before a round stone table. Each of them possessed the strength of a Level 5 warrior!
Suddenly, Aethelwolf sensed an Esper among them. It was a middle-aged man who had an average appearance. However, Aethelwolf could tell that this guy was the strongest among everyone present. ‘Is this Argus? He is indeed strong.’
Argus also noticed the presence of another Esper. He gave Aethelwolf a deep look and when he saw Aethelwolf looking at him, he nodded his head calmly.
“Everyone, please be seated.” Roderick said as he sat down on one of the vacant seats.
Amishta also sat down and Aethelwolf sat beside her.
Everyone turned their gazes to Aethelwolf. They didn’t know who this guy was and it was the first time they had seen him.
“Amishta, can you introduce this person to us?” Roderick muttered as he looked at Aethelwolf.
Amishta nodded her head and said. “This person is Aethelwolf Lassiter. He helped us kill the Gigantic Desert Scorpions near our camp. If not for him, many of our warriors would have died so I hope that you guys will give him some respect.”
Argus narrowed his eyes when he heard this short introduction. He opened his mouth and spoke in a calm voice. “Aethelwolf Lassiter… ranked fifth in the Heavenly Might Rankings. I didn’t think that you would also come here in the Northern Region.”
The experts seated before the round table were surprised to hear him speak. Even the old man Farmar who was known for his explosive character was taken aback. They knew that Argus was a top expert who managed to kill a peak stage Level 5 magical beast. His power was even above Roderick who was recognized as the strongest in the Northern Region! Because of this, the Barbarians respected him and respectfully call him Sir Argus.
Aethelwolf smiled at him and said. “You must be Argus, the top expert who is ranked first in the Heavenly Might Rankings. It’s a pleasure to meet you.”
“Sir Argus, you know this guy?” Roderick asked curiously.
Argus shook his head and replied. “No, but I’ve heard a lot about him.”
