The Hero System - Chapter 50

“Run!” Gorilla roared and threw his last talisman toward the queen! The rest also used their last bit of attacks before making a run for it!

With his telekinesis boost, Jonah was agile enough to run by himself! However, Leo, Fatty, and Ben were a different story. Gorilla picked up Ben without saying anything and sprinted! Norlan did the same to Leo and Fatty was left for Olivia!

Sana, Kim, and Ro had a higher cultivation so no one helped them. Furthermore, Sana and Kim could just use a self-boost skill to increase their speed.

The rest also made a run for it! In a matter of seconds, all the team was fleeing for their lives! That’s the difference between two cultivation stages can make!

Bright red light shone from the queen and its body started changing! In a matter of seconds, it had peeled off its shell and emerged with a new body that looked a bit smaller! The queen then fluttered its wings and it appeared in front of the group! She was too fast for any of them to respond!

The group stopped in their tracks and their faces were as pale as a sheet of paper. They felt like a mice being trapped by a snake with nowhere to run.

“We should run back!” Fatty’s voice shook fearfully.

“For what? To be trapped?” Gorilla gnashed his teeth. Time after time, they were faced with death. If not for Jonah’s ability to get them out of the cocoon, they would have died eventually.

“I’ll stall the queen while you run!” Gorilla’s face was calm as he lifted his hammer and walked forward.

“Brother Gorilla!” Norlan wanted to object, but Gorilla gave no room for negotiation.

“Go!” Gorilla roared.

Then, like an arrow being released, Gorilla bolted toward the queen! The rest were stunned for a moment before they snapped out of it.

“Let’s go!” Yan ordered. She came second in command after Gorilla in team E-55.

“Wait!” Jonah suddenly said.

“Jonah, there’s no way you can help this time! We need to run!”

At that time, Gorilla arrived near the queen. Even though there was a whole stage difference, he knew he could stall it for a bit of time! His only worry that his teammates would be foolish enough to try helping!

‘System, activate the Hero-Mode!’ Jonah drank the bottle of Spirit Regeneration he got from Yan and ordered.

Like the usual Hero-Mode, Jonah’s vision didn’t change. A black whirlpool appeared in every person around him. However, this time, the queen’s body parts were highlighted!

However, these two abilities can only be used in combat, unlike the first one. That’s why he didn’t know about them until now.

Going by the blind spots and the Queen’s weakness, Jonah’s target was the queen’s left wing! There was a narrow gap between the shell and the wing and Jonah can see it highlighted with red!

The queen wailed in pain and turned toward Jonah. It then opened its jaw and flew toward him trying to bite him!

Jonah used the other fragmented hilt of the dagger to block the queen’s vision and used his telekinesis to get next to Gorilla.

“Brother Gorilla, attack the left wing when I throw the hilt!”

Gorilla knew Jonah wouldn’t just come back to fool around. Without hesitation, he used his battle skill and his hammer glowed bright gold!

The queen turned around and flew toward Jonah. However, only its right wing was barely supporting it.

“Now!” Jonah threw the hilt at the queen’s head. However, before it reached it, the hilt changed its direction and passed by the left side of its head.

Gorilla dashed toward the queen but it didn’t see him because the hilt was blocking its left view. Gorilla’s hammer slammed the queen’s left-wing ripping it off! This was the combined work of Jonah’s earlier attack that weakened the wing’s attachment to its body!

Guaaaaaaa!

The queen slammed to the ground as it struggled to move. However, Gorilla and Jonah seized their attacks and sprinted toward the entrance!
