The Hero System - Chapter 51

‘Deactivate Hero-Mode!’

Jonah and Gorilla sprinted toward the rest. At the same time, the queen struggled for a bit before realizing it can no longer fly. Rage consumed it and it started to chase Jonah and Gorilla on the ground with its feet!

Jonah and Gorilla sprinted for their lives with sweat dripping down their faces. The two then entered the hole leading to the entrance. There was a narrow hallway with the light at the end. It obviously led to the entrance.

Even though injured, the queen was still at the Energy Materialization Stage. Its speed has significantly reduced but it was still faster than Jonah and Gorilla.

Luckily, the two had a head start. However, the distance was slowly reducing the more they reached the entrance.

Guaaaaaaaaa!

The queen growled and it jumped toward the two! The two were only a couple of meters away from the entrance but these few meters was like a distance their legs cannot cross!

The queen’s jaw was getting closer and closer! Jonah can feel the distance accurately using his Spiritual Sense. He gritted his teeth and decided to fight!

‘Activate the Hero-Mo’ Jonah didn’t finish his words when a dark blue shadow appeared in his peripheral view!

Since he was using his spiritual sense, he had a clear image of the shadow instantly! It was a wolf!

Whoooooosh!

The wolf clashed with the queen and tried to rip its neck. However, the queen shook him off easily and the wolf flew and landed on the ground. This, however, gave Jonah and Gorilla the chance to run!

After went through the exit, they were greeted with trees. It was nighttime currently and the moonlight was barely enough to see the surrounding. The two ran forward before they halted their steps. From the trees came out a group of several people with flashlights.

“Ren!” Jonah was surprised to meet her here after so long.

“Brother Gorilla! Jonah! Are you alright?” Norlan also came forward and asked with a worried expression.

Gorilla and Jonah looked around and saw there was another team in addition to their team and E-93. The rest also came forward to receive Jonah and Gorilla. Jonah also Noah in the team standing beside Ren.

Awwwoooo!

The wolf hollowed from inside the cave. The group then remembered that the queen was still alive!

“Don’t worry. We’ll take care of it.” Ren smiled at Jonah and nodded.

The rescue team then went inside the cave for a minute or less. Before the rest can even withdraw to a safe place, the queen was killed! Furthermore, the rescue team made it look so easy that the rest were ashamed that this monster has tormented them earlier.

Jonah and Gorilla learned that the rest met the rescue team in the forest after escaping. Although TSO received a rescue signal, it was weak so they couldn’t locate the exact location of the two teams. The rescue team was looking through the forest when they bumped into the two teams.

The two teams then rested in the Vehicle brought by the rescue team. Although there was a lot of people, the place wasn’t crowded one bit.

[Ding! Quest-Completed. Would you like to receive the item?]

‘Later.’ Jonah leaned on the couch. It was now 9 pm and he wondered what Edward would say about him being late.

The three teams reached Zoras city in an hour. They would have taken less time but the two rescued teams went back and took their stuff from the location they were captured from. They then took their own vehicles and followed the rescue team.

“You owe me for saving your life,” Noah smirked and told Jonah before walking away. Jonah nodded and didn’t say anything. After all, he was right.

“We’ll have a two-day rest before we resume our hunting,” Gorilla told the team and to which everyone approved. Although they weren’t fatally injured, their wounds would need some time to heal. Furthermore, the most injured person among the group was Gorilla as he engaged with the queen in a close fight. Even though he didn’t seem injured, his internal injuries were surely serious.

Team E-93 also bid the group farewell and said they’d repay them in the future.

Jonah was happy about the two days rest since he’d make up to Edward that way. He then left the group and took a Spirit Vehicle to Cultivators Paradise.

“You sure have the face to come this late in the first day of our deal!” Edward coldly scolded Jonah who just entered the shop.

“It’s not my fault! We.”

Jonah then started narrating today’s event trying to defend himself. He wouldn’t like Edward thinking that he was taking their deal lightly. Edward’s cold expression disappeared when Jonah said he’d have a two days rest.

“Fine! I’ll let you off this time, but make sure to wake up early tomorrow! We’ll be going somewhere!” Edward said before going to his room.

Jonah sighed in relief and also went to his room and took a shower. He then placed his needles, spear under the bed, and went to sleep. He totally forgot to receive his ultra-rare item!

‘Receive!’

Like the earlier two times, a light sphere appeared in front of Jonah causing a whirlpool to generate. However, this sphere was bigger than the earlier two!

Jonah’s jaw dropped at the description. He knew an Ultra-Rare item would be something very powerful, but not to such an extent! This item has a variety of uses! For example, he can spy, fight, or even train with this!
