After reaching home, Jonah made lunch for himself and ate. His mother was still at work.

Jonah didn’t have anything to do right now, so he decided to cultivate. He sat cross-legged and started to cultivate like usual.

Only after two hours did Jonah hear the system notification.

Jonah was momentarily stunned. The notifications came pouring down out of the blue.

He decided to check them one by one.

First, his Spirit is now 20 points. However, there are other changes?

This was the first time the system had such a thing. Jonah hurriedly opened his Status Menu to check.

Jonah now understood what this was. It was just a numerical value of his spiritual energy. He tested it with his Spiritual Sense. Only after 20 minutes of use did it drop by 1. That means that he can continuously use it. ‘Well, it’s just a basic skill.’ Jonah thought.

Since Jonah figured this out, he shifted his gaze toward the quests.

For the first two, Jonah has to reach the second stage of Energy Condensing in a month or half a month. And the third one was probably the next part of the Void technique.

‘System, do I get two skills if I reach the second stage in half a month?’

[No. The second quest will be removed if the user completed the first one.]

‘Too bad’

‘Then, what about the technique? What happens if I can’t finish the quest?’

“What the fuck?” Jonah was dumbstruck. His mother told him that they moved here when he was two judging by the system’s ability, he should have been able to access those memories.

A panel appeared and a video was played in front of Jonah. It was this apartment. His mother was looking at him with a warm expression. She then leaned over and kissed him. She then stood up and brought him some milk.

Jonah was amazed at his mother’s beauty when she was younger. Even though his mother was quite the beauty now, it was evident that her beauty declined as she cared less about her looks.

Jonah saw how his mother struggled with taking care of him. She took him to her work since she couldn’t afford a nanny. She kept him by her side all night. Every time he woke up, she would lullaby to him.

“Jonah? What’s wrong?” His mother opened the door and looked at her dazed son.

“No, nothing. Welcome back!” Jonah wiped his teary eyes and stood up.

This day, he cooked for his mother. Even though it wasn’t delicious, it allowed her to rest more. Jonah vowed in his heart to help his mother with their life.

Going by what Ren said about cultivators ruling the world, there must be a way for them to gain huge amounts of money. Since he became a cultivator, he decided to gain every dollar he can to help his mother.

Jonah threw the whole incident about his memory being irretrievable before he came to Cosan city to the back of his mind. He didn’t want to make his mother remember the harsh past. It’s not like it would change anything if he knew.

After eating dinner, Jonah sat cross-legged cultivating. He followed the Void Technique to circulate his energy. After 4 hours of cultivation, Jonah looked at his stats with amazement.

‘Holy shit! Holy fucking shit! This technique increases all of my stats?! Isn’t that just way too fucking unbelievable?!’ Jonah’s breath quickened with his heart rate. This was too abnormal for him. He felt like he was in a hot bath while he cultivated.

Like iron being refined, he felt his body getting stronger and better. However, he didn’t expect it to be this abnormal!

‘System, do all cultivation techniques increase stats?’

[They do, but not all stats. Some focus on strength while others focus on agility. Some cultivate their energy to gain fire characteristics and some cultivate it to gain other characteristics. However, the Void Technique is different. It raises all stats and grants the Void characteristics to your spiritual energy, which can turn to any other characteristics.]

Jonah now realized how awesome this technique was. It seems he needs to keep it no matter what. Even though he still doesn’t know what having void characteristics, he knew it was powerful.

With such a motivation, Jonah sat cross-legged and started to cultivate. When he opened his eyes again, it was 5 am. Jonah didn’t really need to sleep when he cultivates. It felt like sleeping in a hot bath after getting used to the circulating pattern.

Jonah looked at his stats again with satisfaction.
