The Human Revival - Chapter 1 Families Power In Ragnarok Kingdom

“Run.. Run Leave the city, Go to the endless edge.”

“Dad Mom Where are you??”

“Arrghhh no, Don’t kill me”

“Go to hell demon!!!”

In a single night, a city of millions inhabitants became a ruin. Millions died while a few successfully escaped.

This world was a silent witness where humankind was forced to the edge of extinction. This world was called “Celebus World”, the world where Celebus demon emperor reigned over billions of life and named after himself.

500 years later..

“Mom.. No.. Don’t go outside, Let’s just wait here until that black bear gone” said a 6-years old boy.

“Haha, silly kid.. It’s okay as long as you’re alive. I hope one day you’ll be able to grow old and be happy with your own family..” said a thin woman around 30-years old with blonde hair wearing an apparel created from gunny sack.

“No mommm” said Hans while trying to go out and hug his mother but it seemed he didn’t have any courage to do that.

“I love you Hans, stay alive..” said Elena. After saying goodbye, Elena pushed a meter boulder to cover a cave where Hans hid.

“It’s not very heavy. Hans will be able to push the boulder to escape” thought Elena. After that Elena started to run to the opposite direction of the nearest city. A moment later, a black bear smelled Elena’s scene and began its pursuit.

“Mom I am sorry.. I am not able to do anything, my leg isn’t willing to move either.. Mommmm” said Hans while his tears began to drop after he realized that his mom had sacrificed her life just to give him a chance to survive.

“Mom I promise, I will kill that corrupt officer who gave this punishment to you..” promised Hans.

A week ago, Hans just bought pills from medicine guild while he accidentally hit a noble on the way back home.

Hans understood that it was his fault because he walked while counting the pills on his hand.

“I am sorry sir, I don’t mean to hit you..” said Hans with apologetic face.

“It’s okay kid, Let’s go” said that white robe noble with tiger emblem on his chest armor (a Cuirass). But before the noble went to continue walking, he gave a nod to his officer.

“Kid, what is your father name?” said the officer who just received a nod from the noble.

“I don’t know who is my father sir, can I go now?” said Hans. Hans thought as long as the noble had gone he didn’t need to stay and talk with officer. “My mom is waiting for me to bring back her pills”

“Oh.. What is your mother name?” said the officer. It seemed that his acting as a good officer reached its limit.

“My mom? My mom is Elena, Elena of Southern-Outer district. The most beautiful woman in Southern-Outer” said Hans proudly. “Bye officer, good day” After saying goodbye, Hans started to run to the south.

“That kid, let’s see if you can still maintain that smile of yours after offending Sir Cole Kennedy” thought the Officer.

Kennedy family was number three in rank of the six strongest family in the kingdom of Ragnarok. Kennedy family controlled outer district hall and almost owned 60% business in outer district.

There are six strongest families in the kingdom of Ragnarok which are Randal family, Nalco family, Nightingale family, Kennedy family, Avalon family and the last Ragnarok ‘the imperial’ family.

The family was ranked by young generation competition and almost all families in the kingdom could participate the event which was held every 4 years. In the end of the competition, the highest five and the imperial family would have the right for participating in an exploration to the unknown realm. What happened in the realm was not known to public but rumor said the participant can be granted of a magical strength capable of fighting powerful demons.

By the power, the number six family in strength was Randal Family. Randal Family owned the border city and protected it from the barrage of demon invasion. Being in charge of controlling the border where blood spilled and fortune gained every day made Randal family power growing overtime and became the number six in strength.

The number five family was Nalco family. Nalcos controlled southern province of the Ragnarok Kingdom. Southern province itself was the largest area in the kingdom although most of the land was a barren land. But even the most barren land still had commodities which can be sold. Until a century ago, the Nalcos was able to gather all tribes from the south and built a city under the name of Nalcos City.

The number four family was Nightingale family. This family was the most mysterious family of the six. They live in a 10km squared castle which was located 100km north-west from the capital. Rumor said they have dark business which they involved such as assassination and even slave market, but no one known the truth. In the light, they were a good black smith which generated sea of gold every year.

The number two in strength was Avalon family or second only to imperial family. Avalon family rarely involved in the business and power race in the kingdom and the Avalon even lived on the slope of north mountain. But in every martial participation, they always easily became number one in the torunament. No one knows how they could be that strong.

The strongest family was, of course, the Ragnarok family who commanded the wind and cloud of the whole kingdom. The Ragnarok controlled inner city of the Capital including its mage and warrior academies. Although they didn’t participate in the competition, No one dared to dream that they were weak.

In the history book which was published by the palace, 80 years ago, there was a family who was always be number two in the competition which controlled the west and even built a city under their family ‘Yuri City’, they thought they were strong enough to crush Ragnaroks and take over the throne but only a night attack from Ragnarok Legion Army was enough to destroy Yuri City and killed all the people who had Yuri as their surname.

Two days later, at Hans’s home in southern-outer district.

‘knock knocck’ “Miss Elena open the door, we are patrol officer from city hall” said a patrol man loudly while knocking the door.

After opening the door hurriedly, Elena nervously asked “Yes officer? Is there any mistake here?”.

“Here is the new assignment from outer district hall” said the officer and gave a letter to Elena.

“You have to do this job tomorrow, first you need to go to south gate job office to inquire about what you are assigned to” said the officer. After that the officer left Elena alone holding the letter.

“Mom, what’s going on? Who are they” said Hans after walking from the dining room.

“I don’t know Hans, your mom is assigned to work at ..” opening the letter, Elena shocked with the content.
