The Hunter Becomes The Hunted - Chapter 173
I heard Victor’s angry voice next to my ear as I watched Matthew’s dead body slump to the floor.
“Y..you just killed my brother.” Victor sounded like he couldn’t believe what he just saw. He must have honestly thought that he and his brother were nearly invincible.
“That’s right, asshole. And you’re next.” Kyle’s voice was filled with anger, and it was clear that he was planning to end this, and soon. I smirked at him, at the way that he was here for me. I don’t know why I fought against him for so long in the beginning. Kyle was the world’s greatest guy, there was absolutely no doubt in my mind about that now.
“Have I ever told you that I fucking love you?” I asked Kyle as he stepped closer to me and Victor.
“Shut the fuck up, bitch.” Victor sounded scared now, afraid to have Kyle anywhere near him.
“No, I will not shut up.” I snapped back at him just seconds before he jerked my body to the side.
I felt my entire upper body tip and move in a way that I hadn’t planned. I ended up with my face pointed toward the floor and my arms gripped behind my back. Victor was clearly grasping at straws here since he didn’t know what to do.
A moment later though, just as I started to pull my arms free, Victor let my wrists go and grabbed the back of my hair in his left hand. With his fist twisting and pulling my hair, he managed to get me back into a standing position. There was a knife pressing into my throat the moment I was standing up again.
“Let her go now.” Kyle snarled the words across the room to my demented cousin.
“You’ll kill me if I do.” Victor’s voice was shaking.
“I’m going to kill you regardless.” Kyle answered his shaking words.
“Then I think I will take her to hell with me when I go. I will not leave her behind. She’s mine.”
At those words, I felt the tip of the knife Victor was holding press into my flesh. He hadn’t pressed it in very hard or very far, but it was enough to break the skin and I instantly felt blood start pouring down the front of my body.
“Drop it.” Kyle snarled again.
“Wait, Victor.” I called out to him at nearly the same time that Kyle had spoken.
“What, Jacy? What could you possibly want?” Victor may have been scared shitless, but he was also beyond pissed.
“I..I..I didn’t know how much you cared about me.” I tried to make my voice soft and sweet as I spoke. “I..I..I admit that I have never had a guy love me so much that he was willing to kill me just so another man could never touch me.”
“I have been telling you for almost twenty years that I love you, Jacy Rynn. You are the only Luna for me. I need you by my side to run this pack and have strong children.” I didn’t know what type of psychosis Victor suffered from, but he was clearly out of touch with reality. I honestly didn’t like pulling this deception, but it was necessary to save myself.
“Victor, I..I..I think th..th..that I’m r..r..ready to a..a..accept you.”
“You are?” I could hear nothing but pure joy in his voice when he asked me that.
“Jacy?” Kyle looked at me like I was crazy, and I just winked at him since I was still facing away from Victor.
“Hush. She doesn’t want you anymore.”
It all happened fast after that. Victor pulled the knife from my throat and started to turn me around to face him. I gave him a soft smile and noticed that his grip had slackened on the knife, it was about to fall to the floor. Well, that was beneficial for me.
Just as the knife fell, I caught it. It was just below Victor’s hand and the blade was pointing out. Unfortunately, I ended up cutting my hand across the palm, but I didn’t care. I caught the knife, repositioned it in my grip, and threw my hand out all in the span of maybe two seconds, if that.
The shock hadn’t even had time to register on Victor’s face when the blood started to flow.
There was a large red slash mark across his stomach. I saw the shirt that Victor was wearing split and separate as the weight of the blood pulled it down. That was when I saw the long, deep cut I had made in his gut.
The knife had gone in deep, very deep. I could see things besides just blood and skin as the wound started to gape open.
“Jacy?” There was shock, fear, and anger all welling up in Victor’s eyes. I stepped back just in time to avoid his hand that reached for me.
That wound was painful as hell, and deep enough to kill a human without medical assistance, however, it wouldn’t kill Victor. He could, and would, survive it if we didn’t do something else.
“How could you do this to me, you two timing bitch?” There was the rage that I knew would be coming as he started to step toward me. Kyle didn’t let him get close enough to touch me though, he grabbed my right arm just above the elbow and pulled me back to hold me against his chest.
“I am so happy you’re OK.” The relief he felt in that moment nearly made me completely forget about what had happened, but the threat was still there and it didn’t want to stay quiet.
“Don’t you fucking ignore me.” Victor was recovering a little from the initial shock of his gutting.
“This was supposed to be a private moment, asshole.” I felt Kyle’s warmth leave my side as I watched him step forward. “You should have tried to run instead of interrupting me. Not that I would have let you live regardless.”
“Got to hel-.”
Victor’s words were cut short when I saw Kyle’s hand dive into the wound on his stomach. Kyle was reaching inside of the man that had been my tormentor and cause of so much stress. I didn’t know what it was that he was doing as he dug around inside of him, but he clearly had a plan.
A plan that came to fruition a moment later when I saw Kyle’s hand come back out covered in blood and holding something that was grayish purple and maybe an inch and a half in diameter, if that.
“Holy shit, Kyle. Is that his small intestines?” I could actually hear a small amount of laughter in my voice as I spoke over Victor’s loud screaming voice. He wasn’t saying anything, he was just alerting us to his intense pain.
“Yes it is. I am just happy that I got the right one the first time that I tried. Imagine me having to try again.” There was laughter in his voice too.
“F..f..f..fuck y..y..you! L..l..l..let g..g..go o..o..of m..m..me!” Victor seemed to be having a really hard time talking at the moment.
“Shut up, it will be easier on you that way.” Kyle warned him but it didn’t appear that Victor knew how to listen.
“G..g..g..go t..t..to h..hell.”
“Now that wasn’t very nice, Victor.”
As I watched on, Kyle wrapped the long thin organ around Victor’s neck like it was a rope. When he turned to look at me again, I could tell that he wanted to display this creep for the others to see.
“Oh, look at you. I need to cover you up, but I’m all covered in blood now.”
“I don’t mind.” I meant that I didn’t mind the dress exposing my chest but Kyle misunderstood. He raised his hand up to the chandelier that was overhead and hooked the intestines on one part of it just long enough to wipe his hands off and take off his shirt.
“Here, cover up. We have a show to put on. Oh, and bring that.” He pointed at the knife in my hand before he took the slimy makeshift rope from the chandelier.
“L..l..let me g..g..go.” Victor screamed as I pulled the shirt on and Kyle pulled him to land on the floor. “AHHHHHHH!” That scream was actually pleasant to my ears.
I followed behind Kyle, who was dragging my demented cousin down the hall, and then down the stairs. With each thud from the stairs, Victor screamed, groaned or cried out in one way or another. It was nice for me in a way.
The fighting was still happening on the second floor but the moment they saw Kyle dragging Victor the people there seemed to just stop. The people that I assumed had come here to help me, started to bind the wolves that had brought me here. The same happened on the first floor. The fighting ended the moment that everyone saw Victor being dragged by his own intestines.
Kyle dragged Victor all the way outside, where he proceeded to kick the shivering body that was Victor and let it tumble down the stairs.
“Here is the man that called himself your Alpha.” Kyle spoke with a strong and firm voice.
“Here is the man that threatened the life of a baby to get the woman that he coveted to come with him. Here is the man that had his people drug that woman with a paralytic drug, so that she would be pliable for him to rape again since she was no longer the thirteen year old girl that he raped before.” I added.
The words that I just said caused a stir to run through the crowd. I didn’t know exactly what part caused it, and I didn’t care. I was going to end this. I knew why Kyle had brought Victor out here. He wanted me to kill him publicly so everyone would know who did it. He wanted me to take my place at the head of the pack.
“Here is the thing that has cowardly done all of this and still calls himself a man. He is no man. He is a pathetic troll that seeks power of any kind.”
“N..n..no.” Victor’s weak voice objected. “I..I..I r..really d..do l..love you.” He was looking at me with pleading eyes.
“This is not how you treat the person you love, Victor.” Kyle snapped at him. “You have been tormenting and traumatizing Jacy since she was a child. You are going to pay for your crimes now.”
“Goodbye, Victor.”
I felt no sorrow, I did not hesitate when I took the knife in my hand and drove it right into Victor’s heart. He barely cried out. I guess the pain wasn’t much greater than that of which he was already experiencing.
It was over quickly. His heart stopped beating almost immediately and his eyes rolled back into his head. His breathing stopped and all signs of life were gone. He was dead.
“All hail the new Alpha.” Deek grinned at me as he walked around me so that he was in front of me and could be the first to kneel. Several others followed his lead. The members of the pack, that was. The others that didn’t do what he did were the wolves, felines, and vampires that must have come with Kyle from Boston.
“ALPHA!” The word was said almost in complete unison by all the men in the pack that recognized me. The ones that didn’t bow to me were still being held captive by my rescue party.
“You accept me as your Alpha?” I asked them.
“You are our rightful Alpha.” A man that I recognized, Gregory, answered me. “We have been waiting for you, Alpha Jacy.”
“Alpha Jacy! Alpha Jacy! Alpha Jacy! The words were being repeated by everyone so loudly that I could see the residents of the pack coming from their homes to see what had happened. They saw the kneeling men and the dead body at my feet. Some of them looked scared, but others looked happy, and all of them knelt before me and chanted the words as well.
“Alpha Jacy! Alpha Jacy!”
