The Hunter That Returned From Hell - Chapter 141: Run?
“Ahhhhh….” Kang-Ho moaned in pain as he could feel some of the crystal shards rip deeper into his body which caused him immense pain. Kang-Ho didn’t know how and why it was happening but for some reason the pain that he was feeling was way worse than it was supposed to be, he didn’t mind it too much as there was just nothing he could do at this point even if he knew the reason, all he could do was endure the pain and be ready to face any potential attacks from the golem. As Kang-Ho landed on the ground, after being flung in the air by the golem, he didn’t waste any time and quickly got a hold of his body which was still disoriented as he predicted that golem wouldn’t just stop after that attack.
As Kang-Ho predicted, the golem had already struck its sharp legs onto the ground and was preparing to propel towards the direction of him to launch another attack. Unlike last time Kang-Ho this time was totally prepared for the attack so he quickly started to hop back to avoid from being hit. Kang-Ho wasn’t trying to run away from the golem he was just trying to buy as much time as possible, because he was still plucking the crystal shards from his body.
After exchange of blows between the golem and Kang-Ho, he had figured one thing clearly, he needed to finish this fight as fast as possible. Kang-Ho was worried he might get caught off guard by the golem once more which might prove to be fatal, after all this time he got a little lucky as the crystal shard didn’t cause him life threatening injury, with his personality he hated being at the mercy of luck and took everything upon his own hands.
As Kang-Ho hopped back from his previous position, the golem landed on the same position as Kang-Ho stood just as split second later. With a very soft boom sound the golem landed on the ground, from just the sound of the golem’s landing Kang-Ho could roughly estimate that the golem had lost about half of its health, it might be even more. With the help of sharp legs which dug a hole into the ground, whenever it used a little bit of force, and the reduced weight of the golem, the golem was much, much fasted than before without losing any strength in the process which made the golem a really formidable opponent.
This process of hopping back continued for a long time as Kang-Ho was plucking the crystal shards as fast as he could. Kang-Ho just focused on the shards that were lodged deep in his body, and the shards that made him bleed more. As soon as Kang-Ho was able to pluck some of the shards that were doing more harm to him than the others he drank health potions, he was doing this to control the blood loss which was a very serious problem for him.
After he finished plucking most of the serious crystal shards from his body, Kang-Ho came to an abrupt stop as he was dumbfounded by the scene that occurred right in front of his eyes. Kang-Ho stood silently as he watched the golem’s retreating back with disbelief written all over his face. It seemed as if the golem acted like Kang-Ho never even existed, this was truly a sight to behold because just seconds ago the golem was chasing him to end his life but within just seconds it was going back.
‘The description didn’t joke when it described this golem having low intelligence. This is a really good chance for me to get rid of these crystal shards, I hope no other monster attacks at this moment.’ Kang-Ho although couldn’t understand why the golem was not paying attention to him but this was the perfect opportunity for him to get rid of all of the crystal shards that were stuck on his body after all he didn’t want them to go deeper like some did before while fighting ethe golem. Kang-Ho cautiously removed all of the crystal shards that were stuck on his body while being constantly on guard for any sneak attacks and drank some health potions after he was done to recover all of the wounds he had suffered.
After Kang-Ho was done taking care of his wounds without any trouble, he slowly stepped forward towards the direction of the golem in huge strides to kill that thing. As soon as Kang-Ho moved a little further deep towards the area, Kang-Ho started hearing huge noises as if something big was coming his way and could also feel the vibration it was creating while it moved towards him. Kang-Ho was quite confused as to why the golem was attacking again after giving up on him, so when he got a general idea, he went ahead to check if his guess was correct or not.
Kang-Ho slowly started to move back from the area he was standing and was moving towards the area where he stood and cleared all of the crystal shards. As Kang-Ho inched more towards that area, he was filled with curiosity and bewilderment at how the things were going to pan out. Just as Kang-Ho had guessed, right at the moment when he stepped foot on the area where he wanted to go the golem suddenly turned around and started to walk back as if it had forgotten the purpose why it was running towards him.
‘Maybe this is an area which golem doesn’t consider as his own, after all the description mentioned something along the lines of “Golem attacks those who are deemed as an intruder” maybe after I come over here, I officially cross its line’ Kang-Ho had finally managed to figure out the reason behind why the golem wasn’t attacking him after he reached this place and just went away as if he didn’t exist at all. Kang-Ho had a very rare smile on his face seeing the golem going away.
‘So, there is even an option of running away from the golem, if someone does not want to fight, but with the transformed golem even running away is a little difficult as its speed was much higher than before it transformed. Should I just walk away from the golem?’ Kang-Ho thought as he was contemplating on what to do next, he didn’t even take a second to come to an decision. Kang-Ho started walking towards the direction of the golem with large strides as if his resolve had increased all of a sudden.
Kang-Ho knew that some people might have chosen to abandon the thought of fighting the golem all together, if they found out they could avoid fighting the golem just by crossing a certain line. But for Kang-Ho who had seen all of the rewards at the end of this trail, he was resolved to fight anything and everything that was supposed to give him those precious points which he needed so much to buy the items that he decided to buy. So, Kang-Ho didn’t have any other option than just to head straight towards the golem to kill it and take all the points it would provide.
As soon as Kang-Ho could once again hear and feel the running of the golem, he started running as well, this time Kang-Ho knew most of the tricks up the golem sleeve so he was briming with confidence as he moved towards the golem.
