The Idol’s Wife - Chapter 309
No matter how much KJ told himself that he would be calm after receiving the news, his heart was bursting with an unending joy. Mirae was tearful as her green eyes brimmed with happiness. Her husband was trying his best to control his overflowing emotions but it was so hard even for him to conceal them.
“Are you absolutely sure?” he asked stupidly. He wanted to hear it again. What if he was dreaming? He did not want it to shatter.
Mirae nodded her head. That was enough conviction for him. Without another word, he held Mirae’s waist and scooped her in his arms.
“Hey!” she protested playfully as he lifted her up in the air but he was so happy. He gave her a deep kiss and whispered, “Tell me again.”
“We’re going to have a baby,” she whispered back. KJ carried her to the couch, straddling her on his lap.
“We have a lot of things to do!” he said at once. “I’m thinking of turning my old room into a nursery. Then we’ll need baby supplies. Which nappies to buy? Toys need to be safe for the baby. The nursery will be painted baby blue or a light pink? Whichever you choose. And then you diet-”
“We still have eight months left!” Mirae laughed. “We can plan it all slowly.”
“But your diet chart needs to be prepared,” KJ pressed. “No more junk food. You can’t eat anything indiscriminately anymore either! What if you get gastric problems? And we need to stock up on all sorts of items, especially ice creams. I know you’re gonna crave for those. Thankfully, I already have plenty of experience.”
“You’re planning everything!” Mirae pouted. “Leave some things for me! I wanna go shopping too! And prepare for everything-”
“Absolutely not!” KJ argued. “You’ll rest all day. I know you’ll never give up on work but you have to rest. Leave everything to me. I’ll make sure our daughter’s room is perfectly designed.”
“Hey!” Mirae scolded. “I told you, it’ll be a son.”
“Nah,” KJ snorted. “It’s gonna be a daughter with your green eyes.”
“I’m telling you, it’s gonna be a boy first,” Mirae said. “I have a feeling that it’s a boy.”
But KJ was not hearing any of it. “It’ll be a girl first,” he said flatly. “Then a boy. Then another girl. Then another boy. I want four at least. I wouldn’t mind more.”
“What are you trying to make?” Mirae asked, horrified at his advanced planning. “An idol group?”
“EXOTIC Jr.,” KJ announced proudly. “We’ll add Dasom and Jinhyun’s future kids too. I know Jinhyun wants one daughter while Dasom wants twins of any gender. So that’ll make seven members. They’ll become the next big superstars.”
He was already envisioning their seven kids performing on stage in front of millions of people. Mirae slapped his arm.
“Four is too much!” she protested. “Who’s gonna take care of the little devils?”
“I will!” KJ said at once. “I don’t even mind working from home. All I have to do is make music and show up on sets occasionally. The kids will stay with me while you finish your work.”
“Lazy bum,” she joked, poking his cheek. “I am so gonna annoy you with my midnight cravings.”
He caught her hand and kissed it. “I’m always at your service, wifey,” he smiled, pinching her nose.
She smirked and leaned over to kiss him. When the doctor had revealed the test results, all her worries and nervousness had magically disappeared. She was going to have a child with KJ, the man she was hopelessly in love with. Not a day went by when she did not fall deeper in love with him. What was she scared about anyway?
“KJ…” she whispered in a sultry voice. The scene was all too familiar to him. It was as if they had somehow transported back into the small apartment from the original timeline. She was grinding against his groin, desperate to make love.
KJ grinned and captured her lips in a slow, agonizing kiss while his hands were busy taking off her dress. “No escaping wifey,” he whispered as he unclasped her bra.
….
The next morning, KJ was awoken by the sun rays falling on him through the curtains. Mirae was strewn on his chest, sound asleep. They got carried away last night in their love making session. After making a mess at the living room, they continued in the bedroom and it was past 4 am when they finally fell asleep.
KJ sleepily checked his clock. It was almost 11 am and he had a schedule within an hour. He sighed. All he wanted to do was snuggle with his wife in bed, but she would kill him if he skipped work.
Groaning loudly, he got off the bed and put on a bathrobe before going to the bathroom to freshen up. Mirae was still sleeping when he came out so he quietly went downstairs to prepare breakfast. Mirae had given a week off to all the household staff so it was just the two of them inside the house. Only the security team were stationed outside for their protection.
KJ was thinking of preparing a simple omelette and vegetable sandwich with fresh mango juice. It was healthy and he had an inkling that Mirae would get heavy craving for sweet mangoes in her first trimester.
He was whipping up the omelette when his phone rang. It was lying on the floor amidst his clothes which were thrown all around the living room. The phone rang for a few times before KJ was able to extract it from his pants’ pocket.
It was Sunye.
“Sis!” he greeted. “How are you?”
“I’m good,” she replied. “Congratulations! I hope Mirae has already given you the news?”
“She did,” he said sheepishly. “Thanks for helping her out yesterday.”
‘It’s what families are for,” she laughed. “I actually wanted to talk to you about something else.”
Her tone was serious.
“What happened?” he asked.
Sunye took a deep breath and said, “Song Tamlin and I have been summoned to Aroma Inc. To meet with the President.”
