The Idol’s Wife - Chapter 331
The gate to the cell was open. Inside it, the n.a.k.e.d guard was enjoying the soft body of the brow beaten girl underneath him. She did not move because she was so brutally tortured over the past few weeks that she was nothing more than a piece of lum meat to them.
Nida did not cry out in pain as the man brutalized her insides. The pain no longer bothered her and she was simply numb while the man had his fill of her. Finally pumping his load, he let out a loud m.o.a.n.
“Let this be our little secret, s.l.u.t!” he winked and scrambled off her to pick up his clothes. Nida lay there, still and quiet while the guard began to dress himself. He was not worried about the woman who was motionless on the floor. She had been rendered useless by the President and would not dare to attack.
Nida’s dead eyes, however, fell on the long and shiny knife peeping from his his pants which in his hurry, he had thrown carelessly nearby. As the man put on his inner vest, he did not notice her limp body slowly reaching for his pants.
Putting on his shirt, he finished buttoning them before reaching down to find his pants only to see that they were gone.
“What the-” he muttered and turned around to look for them.
The swish of the blade hit him so suddenly that he did not even feel the pain as his soul was detached from his body in a blink. The blood from his slit neck sprayed all over Nida as the guard fell down on the ground, dead. Looking around her, she quickly took off his clothes and wiped herself clean with his inner vest before putting on the rest of his uniform. She used the blade to cut off her long, greasy hair. It was not perfect but it was enough to disguise herself a little. She then bent down to pick up a lot of dust from the floor and put it on her face, hiding the scars and blackening her face under the layers of dirt to make herself as unidentifiable as possible.
She checked the man’s pockets and found his ID and keys to his car. It was time to make her escape.
Putting the dead guard in a corner, she locked the cell’s door behind her. The other guards had gone off for supper and had left this one behind. She had exactly ten minutes to run away from the mansion. Quietly tiptoeing through the dungeon, she made her way towards the front door. Instead of exiting through the entrance gates, she pressed the car keys to see which one belonged to the dead guard. One car beeped back and she quickly scrambled towards it, unlocking the car.
Revving up the engine, she drove off. The gates in front of her were locked so she used the dead guard’s ID to unlock them, praying that the card would work. It did and the gates flung open, letting her escape. The CCTV cameras must have captured her escape but the security guards inside might not have noticed her due to the fact she was wearing the guard’s uniform.
She stepped on the pedal and sped up the car. TIme was running out and the President must have put his plan into motion already. In her escape, she did not even think how smoothly her lucky escape was executed, unaware of the figures who watched her through the top floor’s window.
“Was it wise to let her escape like that?” Junhyung asked as they saw Nida rushing through the garden to get into the car. “What if she warns them on time?”
“It’s highly essential for her to escape,” the President stated in his hoarse voice, sipping a brandy. “She will lead Kwon Jiwon to us.”
“She knows too much about us,” Junhyung pointed out.
“Let her,” the President shrugged. Nida was merely a pawn in his game. After what was about to happen, there was no way Kwon Jiwon would stay still.
All he needed to do was to wait.
…
The cameras flashed wildly as the car parked in front of the building. The lights shining over the car were brighter than the stars as the two of the most popular people of the country stepped out of the car. The reporters and fans went crazy as Mirae came into view followed by KJ.
She wore an emerald mermaid gown which perfectly fit her shapely proportions and matched her eye color. It was backless and spiraled around her neck. Her hair was straightened and left loose while her minimal makeup only made her more endearing to the pictures. She smiled and waved at the cameras as she clasped her husband’s arm.
KJ looked no less ethereal than her. The girls in particular went wild with frenzy, seeing his jet black hair set into a v-shape. He wore a green colored cashmere suit with large rimmed glasses, looking like a supermodel. The sight of the beautiful couple only increased the media frenzy around them as they made their way through the crowd.
“Any news from Riggs?” KJ muttered as he waved at the cameras.
“Not yet,” Mirae muttered back. They tried to keep a smiling face while their minds were preoccupied with the dangers looming ahead. They had the plan memorized and everything was in place but was it enough?
“Don’t worry,” KJ tried to assure his wife. “We’ll foil his plan this time too.”
Mirae nodded and they walked together towards the ballroom where the guests had arrived already. A server came up to them and offered them some masks.
“Masks for the ball, sir and ma’am,” the server smiled. They did not glance at the server and picked up the masks.
“Thank you-”
Mirae momentarily glanced at the server and almost gasped in shock but managed to maintain her composure. The blue eyes were winking at her from beneath the Scaramucchia mask. KJ did not notice her reaction but the server merely ushered her to keep quiet before walking away.
SD? Mirae thought wildly. Even though she was aware of his presence in the party, she did not expect him to be out in the open. She had expected him to be with the security team to gather intel since he was not the type of person who would just waltz into parties like this.
“Let’s go and meet the others,” KJ suggested. Mirae merely nodded but glanced back at the spot where SD stood only to find that he had disappeared again.
What is he up to? Mirae wondered.
