The Immortal Player - Chapter 296
After receiving Pedro’s orders, the rest of the members of Team Ares logged off the game to contact the people whom they would like to recommend as the ‘Head’ of a Sub-Guild that Pedro wanted to establish.
And while waiting, Pedro sent a message to his mother—informing her that he’s going to establish another sub-guild for ‘player development’ purposes. Of course, he sent the same message to his Aunt Veronica and his Cousin Weyron—just to inform them about it.
Then, Pedro took this time to relax—leaning his back to the chair and exhaling heavily as if he just ‘finished’ his job for that day.
“Haaaaaah… Things are becoming more complicated as we purposely pro-long the duration of the Continental Quest and the reign of wolves!” He grumbled as his gaze landed upon Faunia. Then, he added, asking, “Should I really kill the werewolf already?”
Faunia simply shook her head in disappointment and scolded, saying, “There are a lot of factors that you need to consider before making that decision. If you and the other ‘adventurers’ would need this opportunity to increase your strengths… in preparation for ‘something’ in the future… Then, it’s probably of best interest for all, to maintain the reign of wolves.”
“However… On the downside… You can’t deny the damage that is being inflicted on the people of this continent.” Faunia added. “From the destruction of strongholds, up to the ecology of livestock and other monsters… All of it are greatly affected, not only now but… also after everything would return to its normal state.”
“The ecology, huh?” Pedro mumbled as he pondered for a few seconds. Then, he scratched the back of his head, before hopelessly saying, “I guess I only have a few days left to do something about the situation! Else… I would have to kill the werewolf instead!”
“Speaking of which… I am surprised that there isn’t any news about the presence of a fleet from Bearth Human Organization yet!” Pedro frowned. “I did not expect them to be this passive—despite the whole Aquari Continent in chaos!”
“You mean… Those humans whom we met in that ‘isolated’ island?” Faunia asked in response.
Pedro simply nodded in response.
“Don’t expect them to come too frequently in this continent dominated by humans, themselves!” Faunia chuckled. Then, she added, saying, “Most of those people are in search for ‘power’! And… It’s obvious where they would set their eyes upon!”
“The Dark Continent?” Pedro asked whilst raising one of his brows.
“Who knows?!” Faunia shrugged her shoulder in response. Then, she smirked before saying, “Anyway… From my knowledge… I expect them to appear in a month or two from now! Traveling by sea is not as common as you probably think after all, human!”
“I see… Then… It’s probably time for us to pay the Northern Part of the Continent, a visit!” Pedro said in response.
Faunia simply remained quiet in response—since she does not have any issue or whatsoever regarding going to the Northern Part of the Aquari Continent.
Fortunately, Pedro received a message from Weyron—refraining him from feeling the ‘awkward silence’ in the room.
Weyron: I just finished reading your message, Cousin Peds!
From my perspective, I think… I would be the best fit to lead and manage a Developmental Team. I am the second ‘wisest’ one amongst us, cousins, after you, cousin Peds.
However… I and my guild are already tasked to manage the Adventurer’s Guild. And… It’s not like there’s someone else who is tight-lipped enough to not disclose that secret to the media, themselves!
So… Although I feel regrettable not being able to handle the management of the development team… I support the idea of establishing such a team.
As for a leader… Other than myself… I know that you also have the same cousin of ours in mind, that is qualified for that role!
And although he’s a bit arrogant and talkative… I think Cousin Emman’s aggressive trait and competitive nature would be a great fit as one of the heads that would overlook a developmental team.
Besides… He’s still in college like the two of us!
It would be a good opportunity for him to earn some cash for his tuition!
Anyway… If you don’t like the idea of hiring Cousin Emman… You can always hire my brother for the role—though I doubt that you’d be hiring people who are still ‘under-aged’ lol. XD
Oh, and also… If you have something that you want me to do, cousin, message them to me now. We’d soon be busy with our pre-match preparations, so I might not be able to respond to your messages later.
~~~End of Weyron’s Message~~~
“Cousin Emman, huh?” Pedro remembered his small thin-bodied cousin—who often got into fights against other children when they were young.
Then, after a few seconds, Pedro chuckled and said to himself deep inside, ‘Wey is as crafty as ever! He bluntly suggested cousin Emman, despite his ‘competitive’ and ‘arrogant’ tendencies! This way… Wey and the Oran Gutan Guild could slowly fade into the spotlight—after this competition, and continue their operation in the ‘dark’.’
‘But… I know… Mom and Dad won’t be comfortable, hiring another relative of ours into our gaming organization!’ Pedro thought. ‘It’s a great idea to hire relatives to our organization and help them rise from poverty, but… It would be difficult for my parents to boss them around!’
‘Anyway… I’ll let my parents decide on that! I’ll just tell Mom what Wey suggested.’ Pedro said as he sends another message to his mother—regarding Weyron’s suggestion.
Then, he sent a reply to Weyron, saying…
Pedro: Thanks for the suggestion! I am greatly considering it and had already sent the information to our ‘Boss’. But… Don’t inform cousin Emman about this yet. I am also going to send the suggestion of my friends, for more options.
As for your match later… I happen to be in need of a ‘pushing force’ in a deal that I personally ‘initiated’ with someone. So… I would have to ask you to ‘use’ your dog team, if possible!
Thanks, and Have fun!
~~~End of Pedro’s Reply to Weyron~~~
Seconds later, Weyron simply replied with an “Okay” emoji—making Pedro smirk.
‘It’s time to show the value of that to the whole world!’ Pedro chuckled deep inside.
