The Imperial Gods Daughter - Chapter 10 What can I say?
Ke YongAn was instantly stunned into silence. She swore that if she was not that shocked, she’ll be either laughing like a manic, or crying her eyes out. Perhaps she would be doing both.
“The final rankings are,
10th, Mo Fage
9th, Lui Bu.
8th…”
Ke YongAn patiently waited for her place and name. After all, she had already achieved things beyond what she thought she could achieve.
“6th, Princess Huang Xing.”
Only 1 place? Ke YongAn was a little disappointed, but did not dwell on it.
“…3rd, Yu Xiu.
2nd is Du Jian.
1st is Lan GuMi.”
Elder Cha sent out a jade slip to each. Ke YongAn looked down to see her body’s true owner’s name engraved, as well as the class she was assigned to. In the Heaven Dao Academy, there were three classes. The first was just called “class”, and was the lowest. The second came “Advanced Class”, the one Ke YongAn would be attending. Finally, there was the “Elite class”. As the name tells, Class would be for those who were able to pass, but weren’t in the top 10 of each group. For the top 4-10 of each group, they were sent to the Advanced Class. Finally, was the Elite Class, where the Heaven Dao Academy would be placing the most resources on.
There were 9 classes in total, since there were still the 2nd years and 3rd years.
Ke YongAn smiled, and curtseyed respectfully toward Elder Cha. Elder Cha continued,
“Come to the Heaven Dao Academy in 7 days. You are all henceforth, students of the academy. Dismissed.”
Ke YongAn left immediately, smiling broadly since she was able to pass without using inside connections. However, she did not realize that Elder Rong had rolled to Emperor Huang ZiYun faster than she could.
“Hehe, Princess Huang Xing has passed. She has even entered the top 10. Your daughter will now soar into the sky without any hindrance. Your majesty has the greatest fore-sight beyond the eons, your power is awe-inspiring.” Elder Rong’s squinted eyes an bootlicking caused Huang Xing to feel the need to throw up everything, even her insides.
Knowing what Elder Rong wanted, Emperor Huang ZiYun waved his hands as his servants retrieved more gold, adding onto the rewards. Unable to take this, Ke YongAn stepped forward.
“Royal father, I have passed.”
Emperor Huang ZiYun nodded his head, but it was not one of satisfaction, or disappointment. He knew this would occur.
“Elder Rong,” Ke YongAn paused, but this bit caused a slight change to occur. She glanced down and saw that Elder Rong’s hands were covered in sweat.
“How did I do for the written exam?”
“Absolutely beautiful hand writing! However, there were a few mistakes…” Elder Rong cursed inside for Ke YongAn to appear at such a time. If it was just a little later, he could have gotten his cultivation resources and escaped to the Heaven Dao Academy. There, even if the emperor had the heart to, he wouldn’t be able to do anything.
“Oh? Really now? Then, Elder Rong, could you please tell me my mistakes on these questions?”
“Sure, sure!” Elder Rong gritted his teeth inwardly. He couldn’t falter now, for he had already mounted the tiger.
“Please be patient Elder,” Ke YongAn spoke apologetically, taking out a crude pencil and some paper, before writing down every single question and answer that belonged on the test. When she finished, she handed it over.
“Mm. All the answers are correct. However, you did not use the questions that you failed on.” Elder Rong nodded his head, as if becoming a wise old man.
“Truly? I might have forgotten to write it on. Could Elder ask me those questions and provide answers?” Ke YongAn feigned. She wrote all the questions from the test already, but it seemed that was not enough to drive Elder Rong into a corner.
It was fine if Elder Rong helped her get into the academy or not. However, still getting the rewards through lies, when it was all Ke YongAn’s work, was not.
Emperor Huang Zi Yun knew something was wrong, but said nothing.
“You missed the question, ‘Why are some skills forbidden?’ and their purposes.” Elder Rong smiled amicably.
Ke YongAn rolled her eyes. Most did not know about forbidden skills, since they were one of the most dangerous ones. By covering the eyes of the foolish, eventually everyone would forget about them. It would also cause spreading the skills to slow and besides, there were too few forbidden skills out there.
“Forbidden skills are not necessarily used by the demonic cultivators. They are the most destructive. Forbidden skills not only harm a vast majority, but it can also harm oneself. Forbidden skills are only a part of the Forbidden, as there are also Forbidden arrays.
Let’s talk about Forbidden arrays. These arrays are very destructive, and has a 90% or over success rate to kill all the enemies in the vicinity. However, they also cause mass destruction to the surroundings. The Qi and Lifeforce disappears, and it can take more than a few decades to heal. However, it comes with a horrid price of sacrificing twenty or more people, depending on the range and power of the enemies.
As for Forbidden skills…where to start?”
Ke YongAn smiled, spilling out more knowledge. At times, to make herself sound more impressive, she spewed up nonsense she made herself. Elder Rong was overwhelmed. He actually only knew a little bit on Forbidden skills, so he had no way to know if Ke YongAn was saying any fake things or not.
This…she’s just spewing some nonsense! Emperor Huang ZiYun laughed in his heart, as he had to keep up his image.
“So…which part is wrong, Elder Rong of the prestigious Heaven Dao Academy?”
Elder Rong was backed into a corner. He could only stammer,
“Non-nonsense! You cheated.” He calmed himself down, “Princess Huang Xing, you got some questions wrong on the test. This was one of them.”
“Where’s the proof?” Ke YongAn smirked.
“I-I, don’t have it. They belong to the Heaven Dao Academy now.”
“Okay…since that’s the case, I’m wondering, why would the Heaven Dao Academy give out that many questions over just the examination? Why so much thought? After all, they aren’t students yet. Also, wouldn’t answering them take too much time?” Ke YongAn blinked her eyes, countering Elder Rong.
“The Heaven Dao Academy only needs the best of the best. How would we keep up our name otherwise?” Elder Rong spoke indignantly.
“Okay, whatever you say. Those people born in a normal family sure are something, huh? They all passed the tests. Amazing. So many passed the written portion.” Ke YongAn spoke sarcastically.
“They did not necessarily pass the writing test.”
“Okay, wow, so many can actually pass the battle part. Amazing.” Ke YongAn rolled her eyes, apologizing over and over in her heart. I’m sorry those who can pass even if you come from a normal family. I’m just trying to expose Elder Rong…
Elder Rong this time was extremely tongue-tied. With extreme decisiveness that could sever steel and chop iron nails, he kneeled on the ground. Here was his last resort: pity!
What else could he say?
