- Chapter 12 Beast Land, Pocket World, and...A Boy?
Ke YongAn truly wanted to slam her head against the tree, for no matter how much pondering, she didn’t know how she even got here. Not one clue.
Whatever, let’s just try to manage how to survive. Ke YongAn wanted to slam her head against the tree again. She had no idea how to make traps, shelter, clothing, hunt for food, or navigate.
Sighing, Ke YongAn marked the place she woke up by drawing something onto the trees. Suddenly, she realized she couldn’t. What the heck?
She examined herself and suddenly felt extremely light. Feeling intrigued, Ke YongAn leapt. She leapt above the tree-tops, but didn’t fall. She way just floating on air!!!
Am I dreaming? Ke YongAn thought to herself. If this is just what people call astral projection, then that is what’s happening!
Since Ke YongAn felt as though she had nothing to worry about, she left the place and venture into its depths.
Along the way, she saw many different kinds of foliage and fruits. With her improved memory, she tried to imprint each into her mind. She hadn’t come across any animals, which made her feel extremely odd.
She could hear the birds chirping away, and the insects buzzing, but where were they?
As she stepped deeper and deeper into the forest, those sounds were slowly fading away. Ke YongAn paused. This was not right.
Deep in though, Ke YongAn remembered something.
Magical beasts are extremely territorial…
However, just as that thought appeared, a booming roar came out of nowhere!
“Who dares to snoop around onto my land?!”
Although Magical beasts spoke in their own language, for some reason, Ke YongAn was able to understand. All her hairs stood one end.
“Um, I’m sorry, I didn’t know this was your home! I swear I didn’t touch anything. Sorry, and goodbye!” Ke YongAn bolted. How the magical beast was able to sense her, or how she was able to understand slipped from her mind when she needed to flee.
A large red lizard trampled its way over. Ke YongAn leapt into the air, but was stopped by other flying reptilians.
When one of them swooped down on Ke YongAn, although she felt fear, nothing should happen if she was just an astral projection, right?
However, Ke YongAn hesitated and still dodged out of the way.
“Sir, I’ve already said, I’m sorry. Please calm down. I think we can just discuss this…” Ke YongAn tried to reason.
“Seeing how you haven’t done anything, I’ll give you a chance. Scram out as fast as you can!” The red lizard roared, showing its sharp fangs.
Ke YongAn didn’t dally and ran, only realizing afterwards she didn’t know where she was going. But she couldn’t turn around and ask for directions, so she could only continue forward. Geez, his temper is really bad…
As Ke YongAn pushed forwards at a quick speed, she say an opening up ahead.
Leaving the forest, Ke YongAn realized she was now on a beach.
“Phew…there shouldn’t be anyone here, right?”
Unfortunately, it seemed the heavens wanted to refute Ke YongAn.
A low, yet powerful wail resounded, and the ground began to shake. Ke YongAn, startled, wanting to bolt, but was strangely held in place by pressure.
A massive dark blue tail rose from the water and came slapping downwards, blasting Ke YongAn away. However, being a spirit entity at the moment, Ke YongAn did not feel any pain nor would fall unconscious.
What was that? Ke YongAn thought as she recovered. She shook her head to clear her thoughts and moved away again. She felt extreme dread, as there were countless creatures here, yet she did not know where they were.
Just as Ke YongAn was far away enough that she didn’t see the shoreline, she heard a hiss of malice.
“Why are you here?” The voice sent chills cascading down her back.
Next, a white snake had slithered out of the forest. It was massive, and Ke YongAn was only the size of its head.
“I-I was only…Actually, to tell you the truth, I don’t know where I am.” Ke YongAn paused for a long time, not knowing how to explain.
“Why is a soul like you doing in the Beast Land?” The head slithered closer, causing Ke YongAn to feel foreboding danger.
“Beast Land?”
The snake paused and studied Ke YongAn over. The green eyes and slitted pupils unnerved Ke YongAn. It then started to chuckle, in its own snake way.
“A human’s soul barging into the pocket world, Beast Land, and oblivious to the dangers within. This might the funniest thing I have encountered in my life.”
The snake head slithered closer once again. Ke YongAn backed away one step, feeling like her heart was leaping into her throat.
This cycle carried on until Ke YongAn’s back touched a tree. Startled, Ke YongAn tensed up. Whatever motives this snake had, it didn’t seem like a good one.
How the hell did I get myself into this mess?
“Um…what is your name?” Ke YongAn asked, trying to divert the snake’s attention.
“Hoho, don’t worry. Soon you can join with my soul!” The snake lunged forward. Ke YongAn, having limited options, ducked.
A snake’s stomach is the most vulnerable! Ke YongAn kicked upwards and hit the stomach, yet just as she made contact, her foot went through! What in the-
The snake’s head had already twirled around and lunged again. Ke YongAn jumped upwards, but halfway through the movement, she saw the head approach, jaws extended.
“Ah Ja, Stop!” At this unfortunate moment, a voice resounded out of nowhere. The way he said “stop” was peculiar, but it caused the snake to stop nonetheless.
It closed its jaws and bent its neck down. The snake stared into nothingness until a boy approached out of the darkness. He was wearing animal furs and his skin was tanned.
The face he possessed was good looking, and his hair was so long that it was able to touch his waist, although the hair was tangled.
