The Imperial Gods Daughter - Chapter 19 Princess Huang Xing's Jealousy
Ke YongAn only woke up when it was quiet and dark. She winced at the pain from the burns, disoriented. At the same time, Ke YongAn felt extremely tired. As the pain dulled to an incessant sting, Ke YongAn was able to sort out her thoughts.
That…was close. What would happen if it really was 18 lightning bolts? She paled even further at the thought. Determined, Ke YongAn decided she must become stronger as a whole, and especially her physique, since it was too much of a close shave this time.
Groaning, Ke YongAn forced herself into a sitting position and checked her status. Her body was damaged as a whole, but the strange thing was that her meridians and cultivation system stayed completely unharmed…
Ke YongAn then realized that her 12 main meridians had opened. Didn’t that mean she was now in the 9 passages Stage?
She then realized one of her twelve meridians had been occupied by a shivering and tiny light. Upon closer inspection, it seemed to be a strand of lightning. Yes, this stand of lightning was exactly the lightning tribulation’s last thunderbolt. After the two things in Ke YongAn’s dantians was gorging themselves on the essence, a strand had safely managed to escape.
The 9 Passages Stage’s name was special. After all, there were 12 meridians, 12 passages, corresponding to internal organs. In the 9 Passages realm, the average one needed was to open nine of the meridians and train a “guardian” to each. These “guardians” were basically the different attribute Qi materializing into different things. Of course, that also meant there were some who were able to rush into the Spirit Awakening realm with less Opened passages and guardians, or vice versa.
Ke YongAn wondered as to why her 12 meridians were already open. Normally, one needed to open each one manually.
Of course, if she was awake during the battle between the three entities, she would have understood. The lightning greatly weakened the limit, and after the three battled, they somehow managed to break opened every single meridian.
Slowly, Ke YongAn absorbed what remained of the pond to heal her battered body. Although this wasn’t very effective, it was still able to pull Ke YongAn out of the critical state she was in. At the same time, for some reason, she felt pity to the lightning bolt, and ignoring all the things that could happen, fed some Qi to it.
In result, the strand of lightning grew fatter then before, and Ke YongAn swore it had turned into a miniature white snake as it curled up in her first meridian.
Well…at least it hasn’t done anything to me.
Ke YongAn pulled out the jade slip, albit painfully, and was about to notify Emperor Huang ZiYun, when suddenly, the jade slip broke in her hand!
From this, Ke YongAn was sure that was not by accident, and although it was very tiny, she had sensed Qi being used. Weary, Ke YongAn calmed her mind and heart as her eyes began to glow. Surveying the surroundings, she found a dozen or so presences.
“Come out, I know you’re there.”
There was only silence to answer Ke YongAn, who grew nervous. However, the dozen or so shadows slowly came to light from their hiding places. From their body language and way they were dressed, Ke YongAn could confidently assert that they were here for ill intentions.
“I have a close relationship with Emperor Huang ZiYun. If you dare to target me, I assure you that you will not sleep peacefully.” Ke YongAn said slowly and calmly, watching the reactions of the twelve shadows. Laughter suddenly erupted out.
Instinctively, Ke YongAn looked upwards to see Huang Xing descend gracefully.
“You? Trying to threaten me? I call that as offense!”
Ke YongAn’s expression darkened. She should have known.
“So, what are you going to do now? Kill me?” Ke YongAn smirked through the pain, putting up a front to hide her state.
“Oh, no no. I’m not so heartless for that. Considering that you lent me that body for a few months, I am willing to spare you mercy.”
Ke YongAn scoffed, enraged.
“You still dare!” Huang Xing sent a flying kick, causing pain upon Ke YongAn as her body made an arc in the air and tumbled to the ground several times.
Ke YongAn winced, forcing herself into a sitting position.
“I don’t know what my father sees in you! You’re just a piece of scum! Lower than one! I am the princess, and you are an ant. Why are you still here?!” Huang Xing’s face contorted, causing her lovely face to turn extremely ugly.
This girl has mental issues…Ke YongAn thought. She didn’t understand why Huang Xing hated her so much. Even if Emperor Huang ZiYun treated her well, he still treated Huang Xing ten times better. So where was all this jealousy?
“Why?” Ke YongAn spoke evenly. Even in such a situation, she could keep calm. It even surprised herself.
Huang Xing paused, staring at Ke YongAn with squinted eyes. Even with the silent appearance, Ke YongAn could tell she was extremely pissed.
“Why? Why?! I will tell you why! Even if my father isn’t aware of it yet, even if he treats me better, I know that he likes you better than me!”
Huang Xing walked over and dragged Ke YongAn to eye-level. Tears began to stream down Huang Xing’s face, each drop following on the ground with a “ting”.
“He has furrowed brows even in the study. You might think it’s because of all his work, but I know it’s not. When I go over, all I hear him mumble is “YongAn” this, “YongAn” that! So annoying! Why don’t you just disappear?!”
Ke YongAn was stunned. Emperor Huang ZiYun still cares about me? She felt a warmth in her heart. Seeing the teary Huang Xing, Ke YongAn couldn’t pull herself to hate her. However, that didn’t mean she forgot about all the actions Huang Xing had done.
Internally, Ke YongAn seriously thought Huang Xing had mental problems. But most of all, since everyone feared and she had a horrible reputation, perhaps all she wanted was a familial warmth, and since Emperor Huang ZiYun was the only one who treated her that way, perhaps it became an obsession?
“Why don’t you just die!!” With immeasurable hatred, Huang Xing raised her hand imbued with Qi.
Okay, lady. You just said you would spare me. What the heck are you doing now?
Ke YongAn was unwilling to face death, and so the glint in her eyes turned dangerous. Seeing that dangerous glint in Ke YongAn’s eye, Huang Xing became uneasy. Staring at Ke YongAn with her hand raised, she seemed to see three extremely frightening things. Each was extremely primordial, bellying immense strength far surpassing her.
Immediately, Huang Xing released her hold and Ke YongAn painfully collapsed on the ground.
After being shaken, Huang Xing gradually recovered. she pointed at Ke YongAn and arrogantly stated,
“Scram out of the imperial palace, at least a 100 thousand li away. If I catch even an image of you…you know what will happen. Now, what are you waiting for? SCRAM!”
A little thingy
“However, the dozen or so shadows slowly came to light from their hiding places.”
Oh shoot run! This is multiple Beasts. Wait…would that mean there are multiple Bells?
