The Imperial Gods Daughter - Chapter 5
The boy stood for a moment longer and surveyed Ke YongAn. Actually, that boy was an undeniable genius. He was already at the Nine Passages Stage and opened all passageways.
When he looked at Ke YongAn’s flamboyant appearance, he was actually internally having disdain. When he saw her together with Elder Rong, with his smart mind, he could put the pieces together, which caused more disdain. However, when he saw her completed papers with his sharp eyesight and realized there was not one wrong mistake and her neat yet soft calligraphy, the disdain had changed.
However, knowing that she was in cahoots with the greedy pig Elder Rong, his eyes shone a hostile light.
Surprised, Ke YongAn thought about how she offended that little genius, but could not find anything wrong. She corked her eyebrow up, causing a comical sight. Since no one here knew who she was yet, she didn’t have to put on any masks.
The boy merely glared at her for a little longer before confidently striding back to his seat.
As for Ke YongAn, she merely shrugged her shoulders and looked around. However, she soon got bored so she finally got out of her seat to hand in her completed papers.
Of course people wanted to cheat, so seeing her appearance of a high cultured noble and her calmness, they all tried to glimpse some words from the corner of their eyes. One even stuck their leg to trip her so that the papers would scatter everywhere.
Do I really seem so easy to bully? Seeing that obvious move, Ke YongAn evaded it easily and carried on her way as though nothing had happened.
“Elder Rong, I have completed the test.” Ke YongAn used a low voice and left the papers on his desk.
Filled with arrogance, he checked the paper through once. Thinking he missed something, he checked it again. He was surprised as he stared at Ke YongAn’s back. Perfect, no mistake. Word for word!
looks like this spoiled lady still has some strengths. Elder Rong thought to himself, but still did not put this to heart.
He initially agreed because he knew pampered and arrogant misses like these were easy to manipulate, plus the reward, but it seems this miss was a tiny bit smart. No matter, I can tell she is still a very naive girl.
Ke YongAn, who was already very cautious toward Elder Rong, payed attention to all his movements. When she glanced back and saw that smile, her caution became stronger.
15 more minutes to go…or, the time it takes to boil a cup of tea.
Ke YongAn yawned, bored to death. In the end, she pulled over a blank piece of paper and a pencil(although it was extremely crude) and began to doodle.
After those 15 minutes, Elder Rong clapped his hands and all the papers were reluctantly handed in. Some of the examinees bawled their eyes out, others howled in depression and others were just deathly pale. As for the selected few, those examinees were extremely calm and smug.
As for Ke YongAn, she just looked like nothing was related to her, extremely carefree. Her success was guaranteed, so why should she care?
The genius boy noticed Ke YongAn’s carefreeness, and felt suspicious. However, before he could go over and interrogate, Elder Rong once again appeared.
“The results of the test will be announced after this next test. For this round, it is time for you all to shine, and for some, to be humiliated.”
Elder Rong took a breath of silence to let the words sink in.
“It is a battle royal, so every man for themselves. In this round, I will not meddle. Now, everyone, please enter this stadium to begin.”
The explanation was simple and to the point. Ke YongAn’s heart sank. In terms of combat, she would probably be one of the worst. Although she was above those in the 4th rank of Qi Strengthening stage, she could not beat those in the 6th rank(although she never tried).
For everyone who participated in the examinations of Heaven Dao Academy, at least they had to be 5th rank.
Surveying the surging auras of 5th rank to even the 8th, Ke YongAn wept tears in her heart. If I have to go down, I have to go down without anyone realizing…
However, just as everyone stepped onto the arena, Ke YongAn could see a few auras increasing. It was the people who bribed Elder Rong, so he had definitely meddled.
“Now, Start!” The voice was like a trigger as everyone became a tiger and crazily fought against each other.
With the battle intent increasing and Qi being released, Ke YongAn suddenly felt hungry. Hm? Why am I so hungry all of a sudden?
Ke YongAn was extremely confused. All the times she became hungry was when she was absorbing Qi. But as time went on, that hunger had disappeared.
Thinking, despite the desperate battles all around, a few 5th ranks came to attack her. Such a good chance! Why miss it?
However, they gravely miscalculated, for Ke YongAn absentmindedly blasted off the first attacker with a fist stance. Coming back to reality, Ke YongAn glanced to her attackers, who now seemed to hesitate.
Unfortunately, they already ran into the wolf’s den so they could only continue to attack.
Ke YongAn could easily beat 5th ranks like them since they had power, but no technique. If she couldn’t, that would be a grave insult to all her years of training.
After she had sent the three out of the arena, she began to survey her surroundings. With each practitioner engrossed in their own fights, they didn’t have the time to worry about her. That was good.
Thus, she watched a few fights before a thought drifted to her mind. She swerved her head and saw the boy who glared at her for no reason fighting against several at once. They were all at the eighth rank!
Aiyo, seriously, what did I do to offend that guy? Ke YongAn wisely made the decision of not going anywhere near him.
Time went on, and now there were only a few 5th ranks left. Since they were at the bottom of the hierarchy, of course they were targeted.
Although Ke YongAn wasn’t attacked that much in the beginning, the attacks gradually increased in frequency. It seems it’s time for me to get off the stage.
Just as she said that, a group of 6th ranks swiftly bounded over, blocking all sides of escape.
“It seems you like to run alot. But this time, you’re like a bird trapped in a cage!” It was that guy who attacked Ke YongAn several times already.
Of course, knowing she was unable to defeat them, she always ran and evaded. Looks like her luck had run out.
