The Infinite Item Box Is The Best Thing Someone Can Have On An Adventure - Volume 1
The group then took a day off, getting ready to buy new gear, since they still only had beginners weapons and clothing. Yesterday, Harri found a strange email in his mailbox, which appeared yesterday. He then decided to say that they should get better equipment as well. As Harri separated from his group, he opened up his mailbox to look at the letter again.
[from unknown]
[Meet at Mages mingle, in the uptown district in Newtown, tip your tophat and say “the ‘Creator’ did make a wonderful world did he not?” We will discuss then]
Harri scoured the uptown city for what seemed like hours before he found it. The front door was broken down, he couldn’t even see the M in mages anymore. As he entered through some beads, an old man was at the counter. He was snoring, but as soon as Harri came in, he woke up.
“Welcome to Mages mingle,” The man old man yawned.
“The creator did make a wonderful world did he not?” Harri said whilst tipping his tophat.
“Oh, so you’re the guy,”
“Yes I am, and what about it,”
“You see, I’m one of the ‘Creators’ advisors, call me Mitch,”
“Alright, Mitch, what do you need or what,”
“I’m here to talk about your ability, as well as get you better equipment,”
“What do you want to know about the infinite item box?!”
“Just a feature for teleportation, which only I can give you,”
“What’s the cost?”
“I just want you to come here every once in a while, and buy some of my stuff. After a suitable amount of players level up to a certain level, merchants will then proceed by adding more items to their store,”
“Alright then, how do I do it?”
“Give the hat to me,”
“Understood,”
Harri took off his tophat and flung it towards Mitch. Mitch caught it, then examined it. After doing some things with his menu, he flung it back to him. Harri caught it and opened it up. The status board had changed drastically, from a normal brown to glistening gold. It also now had another function with it. A place which used to have an empty space on the bottom left now had a button.
“You’ve probably noticed by now, but you have another button for you Infinite Item Box, press it,” Mitch said.
Harri obliged and another golden board popped up.
[Teleportation Item box]
[slots 0/5]
[Register Location]
“What is this?” Harri asked Mitch.
“It’s a teleportation function, you press register location and then you can teleport there whenever you want,”
Harri pressed the register location.
[Are you sure you want to register Mages Mingle?]
[(Yes)] [(No)]
[Yes]
[Mages Mingle – newton has been registered to your [Teleportation item box]
“Wow, th-thank you,” Harri stuttered.
“No need young one, payment is not necessary, but now you can browse,”
“But before that, I also had something I need to ask you,”
“And would that be?”
Harri took off his tophat and put his hand into it. He pulled his hand out with a log and a blue shiny stone.
“Do you know how hard I worked to get that stone? I had to fight a level ten mini-boss solo. Jeez, I had to use two Glow grass potions,” Harri exclaimed.
“You defeated an old blue slime noble!?” Mitch responded loudly.
“First time hearing about a slime noble, it’s usually just a slime, then the slime king,”
“True, but this isn’t your world is it?”
“I suppose not, but what about the wood?”
“The woods not as rare, but still rare enough at this stage of the game,”
“What is it?”
“It’s a Magetree, also called beginners bark, it allows your magic to flow through the wood better,”
“How much to put the Magical slime core and the beginners bark together to make a staff?”
“About 500 sals,”
“Deal, definitely a deal!”
Harri shook hands with Mitch and he started to scour the shop for better equipment. Meanwhile, Mitch took the materials behind and started crafting. Harri picked up some new adventure gear as well as some non-adventure clothing. He also grabbed a dark brown coat.
He put them at the counter and waited for Mitch to be done with his new staff. As Mitch came back with a newly made staff, he took a look at what Harri had gotten. After he settled the newly made staff down, he started to make the final price, while Harri was using appraisal on his new staff.
[Magetree slime core staff]
[With more magical power brewed into it, it can handle MP more easily]
[Difference to your equipment]
[Is lighter, costs less MP to use, and increases’ damage of spells]
Harri’s smile grew even wider.
“With the secondary mage clothing, some casual clothes, the protective coat and the Magetree slime core staff, comes up to 2,000 sals,” Mitch panted.
“It’s a deal, sorry you had to make that staff though, it seems like it took a lot out of you,” Harri apologized.
“I’m just a bit rusty, but after a dwarf smells a newly made weapon, he’s back on his feet in no time!”
“You’re a dwarf!”
“Even though you’re a small bloke, you still beat me by a foot at least,”
As Harri looked at him again, Mitch was right. He was larger than him.
“Oh yeah, forgot to pay your sals,”
Harri opened his menu, he gave 2,000 sals to Mitch. He then equipped his newly made weapon and clothing. He looked at the stats of his new equipment and was happy. Then he put the non-adventure clothing into the Infinite Item Box.
“One more thing, it’s about that coat and the staff,”
“What is it about?”
“The coat can protect you from the heat, cold, and rain. The slime core can be taken out of your staff by yours truly. If you want them back.,”
“I’ll keep that in mind,”
With a final wave goodbye, Harri left Mitch in the shop, and he was now prepared for everything. His entire body felt lighter, even though he was carrying more clothes. He rushed back to the town centre and saw Kaloko, Nicko and Atogin were waiting for him.
“Sorry I’m late,” Harri panted.
“You better have better equipment,” Kaloko scowled. “We’ve been waiting for ten minutes,”
“Hopefully, this staff didn’t come cheap,”
“And why is that?”
“I tried a night raid,”
“You what!” The three of them yelled.
“It’s ok, I just defeated an old noble slime and got some Magetree wood,”
“Ok, but is your level the same?” Atogin replied.
“Same as ever,”
“Great, then let’s go,”
An hour they walked deeper into the Newtown plains. Harri and the others saw that there were even more monsters. Different coloured slimes and goblins started to appear. As well as the evolved form of the doze sheep The Nap Ram. It only got a bit bigger and it’s [sleep debuff] has levelled up as well.
After a monster or a character reaches a certain level, they can evolve. They can also unlock secret evolutions if they do certain tasks. The more times a person evolves, the harder it is to evolve again.
After another day of grinding, all four of them had reached level 10. By the time they finished hunting, it was dark out.
“Guys, let’s do what Harri did last night,” Kaloko yelled out.
“It would be good to gain a few more levels,” Atogin replied whilst turning his head 180 degrees.
“Majority votes,” Nicko then said to the group. “Let us hunt some more!”
“Just make sure to get ready for stronger opponents, night strengthens them,” Harri replied.
“Don’t worry, we’ll know when to stop!”
Harri nodded.
After that, the monster’s power started to grow. A goblin jumped near Harri, but something was different. Harri has seen a goblin in the night, but none of them had red eyes. Harri immediately ran off and told the others.
“Guys, the goblin’s eyes are red,” Harri yelled out. “They weren’t red last night!”
“What does that mean?” Nicko asked?.
“I think it would mean”
“Ah!” A scream from the distance interrupted Harris speech. Without a moment to lose Harri and Nicko rushed to the scene. As they dashed through the tall grass, a fireball came firing from somewhere. The two of them were able to dodge it, but this was the first time they’ve seen an enemy use magic before.
Nicko and Harri jumped through the tall grass to an open field. They saw that Atogin and Kaloko were on their backs, afraid. Harri looked towards the other side of the open field to see what monster has made them tremble. A goblin shaman was using fire magic on them.
[Rock bullet] Harri chanted.
A small rock appeared out Harri’s staff and it flung onto the goblin’s forehead, knocking him out of focus. Nicko then got out his battle axe and Split the goblin Shaman in two.
“That was easy, why were you two so worried?” Nicko asked Kaloko and Atogin.
“Sorry, it’s power startled us, as well as the enemy using magic,” Kaloko responded.
“Just use a potion,” Atogin replied, as well as throwing a potion to her.
“Be careful guys, stronger monsters might be around,”
“Rawrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!” Something roared in the tall grass.
Before they could get ready, a great big goblin-like monster appeared from the tall grass. It wore hides, teeth necklaces, as well as other bone jewellery. Its skin was blue and was twice as large as Nicko (He is the tallest in the group). Harri used appraisal on the monster.
