The Invincible Hero - Chapter 64
BS42 in the Holo Pod would return to check on Lorne from time to time to discuss with him what was happening in the world. For five years, Lorne sat in silent meditation and for five years BS42 continued moving forward with his agenda.
The threat of the Fiends rallied the peoples of this world which lead to a new era of technological development. Before the serious technology could develop, there was a need to massively accelerate the speed of technological evolution.
When BS42 appeared today he found Lorne clean and eating food. He finally awoke from his meditation. Some might wonder how someone who is a mortal can spend five years meditating and not eat, drink, or even use the restroom. Limbs should atrophy and wounds should appear on the body. However, Lorne was in the Master Student Realm Initial Level. He had a Master Realm Soul Strength along with his powerful body. The meditative state he was in allowed him to automatically utilize his cultivation to support his body while meditating.
“BS42, it’s good to see you!” Lorne said.
“You too, when did you wake up?” asked BS42.
“A few days ago. I hear you’ve been making stops over to check on me. Anything going on?” asked Lorne.
“Sure, a lot. Do you want to hear about the technology revolution that has hit the planet, the war against the Fiends that’s heating up, or the status of the Samsara Pod?” asked BS42.
“All of it,” laughed Lorne.
“After you went into your meditation, Master Que and I met with the Elders Council and managed to convince them about the Fiend threat. They were aware of the Fiends and already held a great deal of hostility towards them, but they only viewed them as another evil sect. The Queen of the Amazons was there and she supported my explanation of the Fiends. It seems the Amazons have a long history with the Fiends. They’re similar to the Wu Di clan in the Dragon Empire in that they were forced to flee from their home planet. There was a Bridgegate from their world to this world. They didn’t know who built it. They already had a small sect they started here. When their world was overrun they activated the Bridgegate and fled here. Once they arrived they destroyed the Bridgegate.” said BS42.
“Wow, that’s unexpected,” said Lorne.
“Indeed. I introduced the anti-Fiend technology we developed in the Dragon Empire but this world is primitive and they didn’t understand the difference between technology and spirit artifacts. It took a while to explain it to them. They only became interested in ‘technology,’ when I demonstrated that technology could accomplish many of the same goals as spirit artifacts but you could use mundane resources instead of rare ones. This really got them excited.
“We established a Technology Center and over these five years, I’ve begun, as the Director, to guide the rapid evolution of technology on the planet. We’ve started produce basic Fiend Trackers here, they call them Fiend Finders. At the moment the Fiends are on the run!” BS42 said proudly.
“Oh, you’re the director of the Technology Center, congratulations,” Lorne laughingly said to his uncle.
“Thank you, I didn’t even want the position but I realized that since no one else knew what technology was, I had to be the one,” responded BS42.
“Haha, I suppose you’ve already begun sending out the fairies and gathering materials and cultivation techniques,” asked Lorne.
“Well, no not really. We’re in an ascended realm. The bodies and materials from our realm are too weak. If I sent out any fairy scouts, they’d probably live long enough to feel their bodies squished and souls dissipated. Even I can’t come out right now, which is why I use this Holo Pod. I was able to build it with the piece of soul armor that broke off.
“However, I have begun to gather materials in this world for the Technology Center and I’ve appropriated a lot of it for research purposes. Unfortunately, the soul Armor Big Bear created for you is still too sturdy. It’s taking us much longer to break it down and reverse engineer it. I wish he were here so he could help us. That kid turned out to be a genius!” BS42 said.
“Master River said the same thing, I wish he were here. Heck, I wish I were back on Earth. The memory has become more and vaguer, but I haven’t forgotten about my wife and children.” Lorne said with some melancholy.
“I’m sure you miss everyone very much but we have a lot to do now. Keep your mind on that and you’ll be able to return to them much faster than you expect.” BS42 tried to encourage him. Although BS42 felt some sympathy for Lorne he truly didn’t understand what the big deal was. He had a few flings as a young man but never bothered having children. He knew it might cause problems between his brother and him. Emperors are always suspicious of family.
“You’re right, I’ll just suck it up for now. Is there anything else you want to tell me about before I start cultivating?” Lorne was ready to dismiss his uncle. He could never tell if his uncle’s lack of emotions and empathy were a result of being a robot man or if he was just an unemotional type. He had about as much of his uncle as he could stand today.
“I wanted to talk about the status of the Samsara Pod,” BS42 began. He could tell he irritated Lorne again somehow. “We’re gathering the materials to build a new ship, but as I said before we’ll need to widen up the hole in the soul armor. We can then build a couple of transportation ships with hyperbolic spatial compartments. It could take quite a few years at this rate.” BS42 said with determination.
Lorne laughed at BS42, “Is this what’s holding you up with everything? Geeze, you should have just said something! I kept wondering what you were complaining about with the armor. I can take care of this armor issue for you and you can hurry things along. You’re just spinning in a circle without even thinking things through. I really expected more from you BS42.”
“What do you mean?” BS42 was confused.
“The only reason I’ve kept the armor in its soul form is that you’ve been worried about the pressures from this world. However, my current body is more than strong enough to protect everything in me from getting squished, and my soul is strong enough even by this world’s standards, to also add protection.
“The only reason I ever used the Soul armor was my soul went to sleep as soon as we entered this world and I never had a chance to deactivate it.” Lorne laughed as he revealed things to BS42.
Suddenly the Soul Armor turned back to regular armor and left the inside of his body and covered his outer body. Lorne carefully removed all of the armor and suddenly felt like he had only now breathed air in this world! His body and soul felt so free right now.
BS42, of course, was shocked by how things turned out. This problem he was busting his head over for six years turned out to have a simple solution. He always thought they were trapped in the armor because it somehow fused with Lorne’s sou. It turned out he was overthinking things.
There was a sparkle in BS42’s eyes now, he could totally change all of his plans. Everything could be accelerated. If he could start creating bodies in this world for his people he could build the Technology Faster and accelerate his plans there as well!
“I’m going back to the Technology Center to arrange some things. I’ll talk to you later! I’m going to arrange new plans, tonight I”ll need your help. Lorne merely nodded at BS42 as he dashed away. It was funny seeing BS42 dashing away as he knew the real BS42 was inside the Samsara Pod in his soul.
Later that night, BS42 came and fetched Lorne from his training. Taking him back to the Technology Center, BS42 lead Lorne around the facilities pointing out various things. BS42 found the Technology Center surprising. It seemed like there were machines from all across the history of the development of technology.
BS42 asked Lorne if he could us soul energy to protect the supply trucks. If he could, they could quickly load these trucks with endless amounts of materials. Lorne saw one of the Samsara Pod’s Bio Crypts. These Bio Crypts were used to store and save DNA. BS42 explained that he was already able to create a few Bio Crypts and gathered a bunch of genetic material from creatures from all over the world.
BS42 loaded this into one of the nearly full trucks and it was stuffed in a way that everything fit. BS42 was as happy as a school child in a candy store! It was clear to Lorne that BS42 waited for this moment for a long time. After everything was transferred into the Samsara Pod, Lorne entered the ship and was greeted by the real BS42.
Lorne walked around in the pod and saw everyone happily working. They were probably suffering from being trapped inside the ship for so long. They probably couldn’t wait until they could create new bodies. BS42 guided Lorne to the planning room. When he entered the room his eyes were immediately attracted to the ship model on the centermost table.
“Is that it? Is that going to be the new Samsara Pod?” asked Lorne.
BS42 beamed with pride as he looked at the model and nodded his head in affirmation.
“You know, I can’t help but feel we should name this ship and stop calling it the Samsara Pod. Ths place has served as our home for so long, it seems so impersonal not to name it. Towns and cities and countries are named, why shouldn’t we name our new home? asked Lorne rhetorically.
“What would you like to name it Lorne?” asked BS42.
“We’ll call it the Tevah,” Lorne said.
