The Invincible Hero - Chapter 82
General Maek and Rigol entered the Gate room. The large room was currently holding eight hundred individuals in special battle gear. The majority of the battle gear was an armored black armor for the top. Beneath the armor was a sturdy read jumpsuit. Dull green battle gauntlets and boots. Each of Fiends wore black helmets with red teeth attached to the helmet. The helmet visors each had blood red eyes. Every member of this elite force carried a sword and shield. A spacial artifact pouch hangs from a military belt.
At the front of this force were five of the fiercest looking Fiends present. Two of the five were huge. One with blue and purple armor was holding his purple helmet. He stood about seven feet tall. In his hand, he held a magnificent sword. The sharp end of the sword was currently stabbed into the ground.
The second giant wore completely red armor as if he had been dipped in a river of blood. His helmet was still on and showed two yellow orbs in the visor. He held onto a mighty halberd. The ax at the end looked as thin as a cicada’s wing and was almost translucent. The spear tip was similarly thin. They were nearly invisible. The shaft seemed translucent. This was both a weapon for sweeping many men away and also a deadly assassin’s weapon. If you moved it fast enough no one would even see it.
Next was a woman he stood much taller than average women. She was around six foot three. Her armor was gold with platinum trim. She also wore a purple cape giving the feeling of royalty. She held a great spear in one hand and had a shield on her back.
Next to here stood a short man who only stood at around five foot two inches. This didn’t detract from his fierce aura. He stood out from the others wearing a green armor with red highlights. A thick and sturdy Warhammer was held in his hand.
In front of these four warriors stood a Fiend around six foot eight inches tall. he wore a white robe and clasped his hands behind his back. He held no discernible weapons and held himself like an ancient and wise martial artist. He seemed unthreatening save for his size, but contrary to looks, an unmatchable aura rippled off of him making it difficult to breathe.
General Maek’s eyes shone brightly as he took in these forces. These were Fiends, unlike the dregs he was forced to work with previously. He couldn’t help but beam with a wide smile. He was worried he would be sent trash but he was clearly sent treasures. Without saying much, the General walked forward, as he moved forward, the five lead Fiends all gave a slight bow to the General.
This slight bow showed they were paying respects to his rank but not to him. This didn’t make the General happy at all.
“I was going to welcome all of you warmly and offer a small banquet before putting you to work. However, it seems you have certain airs. You think I called you here because I’m weak?!” The General yelled at the frontmost Fiend.
General Maek released his aura and forced all of the fiends down to their knees and finally to prostrate to him. Even the five fiercest Fiends were unable to stand up to his aura. The strongest of the five, the Fiend in white, was only barely able to keep from taking a knee but finally, he too was forced onto the ground to prostrate.
In the Fiendish world, it was necessary to prove to your subordinates you had the power to send them to the Fiend Fate. The more threatened a Fiend felt the more obedient he would be. General Maek’s aura made all of these Fiends tremble. In their hearts, they were all convinced it was only right they served this mighty Fiend.
“You think you’re strong? Ha! You’re nothing to me, I am a peerless existence. Do you think just anyone could be a General of Fiends? If any of you slight be again, I’ll turn you into dust and eat your Fiend Stone! Do you think I need you to take care of these ants? I’ll kill them myself after I finish all of you off. Do you understand?!” General bellowed.
“Yes, sir,” all of the Fiends responded immediately.
“Good, now that’s out of the way, report!” General Maek withdrew his aura. All of the Fiends rose with looks of terror on their faces.
Immediately the white robed Fiend began to speak.
“Reporting to the General, I am Commander Ahm Lett, these four our my direct subordinates. The Blue Fiend is Lieutenant Sh’take, the Red Fiend is Lieutenant Poh Tae To, the Gold Fiend is Lieutenant C’rup, and the green Fiend is Liuetenant Dan! The others in the black are the Cannon Fodder.”
All of the Fiends bowed to great their mighty General.
“We greet the Mighty General!”
Don’t think it’s strange the soldiers are called cannon fodder. All non-officers among Fiends, unless they are Nobles, are called cannon fodder. In fact “Canon Fodder,” is the term they use instead of “soldier.”
“Very Good Ahm Lett, you will retire with me to the command center. Rigol I want the Lieutenants to take two Canon Fodder Fiends each and go deal with our Special cultivators. Remember, give them a chance to convert before you convert them! Especially the really big one! I don’t care about the rest, kill them if you have to. The big one, even if he refuses, capture him and bring him to me!” the General commanded.
“Yes, sir!” Rigol said.
“Ahm Lett, with me!” the General roared. Commander Ahm Lett immediately followed move calmly and gracefully.
The General and the Commander left to head to the command center while Rigol began to explain the situation to the four Lieutenants. He even showed videos of the four cultivators, Lorne, Paneneko, Tower, and B’riri.
At this moment a shadowy figure was moving through the secret realm. This shadowy figure turned out to be none other than Master Compassion who came into the spatial realm with everyone. Upon entering the realm, Master Compassion activated a special shadow device on his belt. This turned him nearly invisible and completely covered his aura.
Master Compassion promised Lorne he would come to protect the students, but he decided to only do so if there was no other choice. Until he was forced to make a move, he remained in the shadows. He immediately knew this place was a trap but continued to watch.
He was stunned, “Lorne really is a walking disaster when it comes to love. Thankfully he was able to know danger was coming and warned us to be ready. I really didn’t think he would turn out to be right. It’s too bad, I really hoped my niece Su Ming would be able to become Dao companions with him, but it turns out it’s too dangerous!” Master Compassion continued to think about these matters as he rushed around checking on the various disciples from the two sects.
It was after he finished these thoughts he suddenly detected a huge influx of auras, nearly a thousand auras. There was even one aura that was as powerful as him and then there was another aura so immense it made Master Compassion swallow his saliva. “What kind of monster could that be?” he wondered.
“It turns out this secret realm is even more dangerous than I feared,” he thought.
Master Compassion flew off in the direction of the auras. When he arrived, General Maek and Commander Ahm Lett were just leaving the gate room. He couldn’t sense the aura of the person in the lead, but the second person was definitely the one he sensed who was as powerful as him. The way this one was following the other, it was likely the monsterous aura belonged to that person.
“I need to gather the disciples and get out of here! This is too much, we need to request help from the Martial Federation. These are Fiends and all of them have high-level power,” he continued to think to himself.
After the General and Commander left, Master Compassion slipped into the Gate room. He was astonished to see so many Fiends. These weren’t the typical Fiends he had seen before. Each of these Fiends was capable of smashing most Sects to dust. The four monsters at the front were powerful enough to be sect leaders!
Lifting his eyes, Master Compassion realized the strange edifice behind the Fiends was a Fiend Gate.
“Disaster!” he realized if this weren’t shut down it would bring untold evil to his world. He had to destroy it! Even if it meant sacrificing every student he brought, it was worth it to destroy the Fiend Gate.
Concealing himself, Master Compassion heard the plans of Rigol and the four Lieutenants.
Everyone was in danger, but even worse, the world was in danger. With these forces, how long could their world hold out until it was overrun by the Fiends.
I must destroy this thing, no matter what!” He swore to himself.
