The Kidnapped Bride - Chapter 532
Chapter 532: Old Man’s Courting!?
The next day.
Sierra got ready and dropped her children to their school. It was her part to make sure that children are reaching safely to the school.
In her eyes, she didn’t trust anyone so much to leave this task on anyone, except Charles who was himself busy in the morning.
After dropping off Ailey and Noah, she returned to her office. Since she has been working under Javier’s company, it has been pretty much a task to make sure that it was upto the mark. Sierra never took her position to be overrated.
She firmly believed that this was what she deserved for having such an outstanding experience. In the initial days, her life was pretty much occupied with the office gossip to Jack’s enemies killing her.
But with time she proved her skills to be worthy and they all started to believe in her. The office gossips reduced but never got removed. Nevertheless, Sierra never showed her interest since she was involved in her life and work too much.
Yet on the specific day, she entered her department and everyone was passing her some weird gazes. For minutes, this startled Sierra when she found it to be troublesome. ‘Why is everyone seeing me in such a manner?’
…..
She couldn’t guess so easily and tried to suppress the feeling. Sierra simply walked back to her desk and then, her gaze fell upon something which did make sense to a lot of things in her mind now.
A bouquet of roses was present on her desk and on it was the note of a heart. She could easily predict who must have sent this after yesterday’s talks.
‘So has he started to send roses to me now?’ Was she surprised? NO, because it has happened in the past too.
A dim smile splashed on her face without her knowing. Picking up the bouquet into her hand to touch the roses, she came across a note attached to it. On it, everything which was written stuck her heart with a love arrow.
‘Sierra, treat it as a courting in old age. Don’t worry, you don’t have to lower your standards, I will reach up to them myself..~ Charles.’
Reading this, Sierra startled as she made a pout to suppress her wide grin. ‘So this stubborn head has actually begun and now is interested in courting me?’ were they teens or in their early twenties? No, they already share children.
But his act did blossom many roses in her heart. She took them into her hands to keep them by the other side of the desk and then started her work with the pleasant mood through the day.
But in the middle, her colleagues did catch an eye, “Ohh.. Sierra! Do you have a lover now?’
“Lover?” Sierra thought for a while as she recalled the relationship between Charles and her, “No, I don’t have a lover.
“But you are recently divorced from your husband. Who else would send you flowers?” Yes, who would send her flowers, especially to a divorced woman?
They kept on bursting questions on her head but Sierra was keeping her mouth shut. She didn’t let anything slip through her lips, except for the wide blush that reached up her cheeks.
“Maybe…. an old man who is interested in courting nowadays to experience fresh love.”
…
While on the other side, Javier brought Jennifer back into the Johnson’s land.
Rather than going to their family mansion, Javier brought Jennifer back to their old apartment where they stayed initially. It was as usual, in the countryside and far from their hustling life.
The pregnant Jenifer liked the space a lot and since the moment she entered, her eyes were still captured, “I can’t believe I’m back in Johnson’s place….”
“You have said this twenth times, this counts as twenty one.” Javier answered when he pulled the bags from behind and shut the door.
But Jenifer protested when she turned around and faced him with her long face, “Because I really can’t believe what I’m saying and feeling?! We’re seriously back here and there’s no more threats to us!!”
Javier smiled at her but didn’t reply. He helped her to sit on the couch with safety before going to their room and brought to change her slippers, “You should alway wear slippers. Never go barefoot. Winters are coming and the children and mother need warmth..”
Hearing this, Jenifer’s eyes glowed with sweetness. “You have been acting so protectively toward me from the moment you learned about my pregnancy, Javier.”
“Hmm..I don’t want anything wrong to happen because of our negligence.” It was at the right step.
They already lost one life, and now she carries two. How can they afford a single risk?
But his actions were enough to make Jennifer smile. She couldn’t help but find herself grateful in the world on finding his nature towards her. All his coldess swiped up and she could say, it was also worthy the pain.
“So, can I ask for anything from you now?” Jennifer questioned when she raised her eyebrows.
Javier nodded in return but his eyes did caught how viciously she grinned at his reply. ‘Her tiny head is once again going out to make me do something…’
“Alright, go and make me lunch now! I want to eat something made out of your hands..” Jenifer told childishly while she leaned back on the couch, “I will take more rest now…”
“You have been sleeping for hours now, Jennifer!” he couldn’t help but say this loud and clear. He could cook well, he knew. But alone? Nah, he wanted her to accompany him in this.
Yet her unwillingness was still at its height, “NO NO! babies want rest!”
“Oh, they won’t dare disobey their father.” Javier didn’t sit and had helped her to pull a chair and make her into kitchen. She was asked to simply stare at him while he does all the work there.
Jenifer initially pouted but then later became quiet and stared at the finest work of her dear husband. She was delighted with her great sight as the smile graced her lips.
But then, as if something struck her mind, she questioned Javier aloud.
“Javier! Do you want a boy or a girl?
