The Kidnapped Bride - Chapter 561 - 561 Goodbye-1
561 Goodbye-Javier had no idea of how to react. His heart stopped beating at the sight that his legs were too jammed to take a step. Should he go ahead and see if what he thought was true or not? No.. he didn’t dare to do so.
But his instincts were getting the better of him. Seeing such a messy situation around the corner had gained attention. There was an ambulance that held stretchers out in case of an emergency. Meanwhile, the fire brigade was using their cannons to stop the sudden fire ignited in the middle of the forest below the mountains.
Despite being in a daze, Javier gulped and walked to the crime scene. His eyes scanned the area where there were barriers around the corner but nothing stopped him from passing them.
He stood at the corner and took steps to look below the mountain when one of the officers approached him, “I’m sorry sir but you will need to leave the scene right now. It isn’t s-”
“C-car accident?”
“Yes sir. It has fallen from such a height and got burnt which has caused the fire in the forest as well.” The officer once again looked at the area below the mountains when a soft breeze hit their faces. “There you see, it is huge. But please you are requested to get a-”
“Which car is it?” He asked again and this time the officer looked amused. He read the expressions of the man who was wearing formal yet they were no longer in better shape. The shirt held wrinkles and his hair was already a mess. The appearance looked dejected and this made him narrow his eyes.
“Are you looking for anyone, Sir? If not then please get to the scene otherwise I will need to take you forcefully.” The man held a tinge of respect but Javier wasn’t in the such mood to react
He could already feel his mind running through thoughts and his heart gathering all the pieces of hope which had crashed down in a thin piece, shattering his very own soul and burning itself into ashes.
…..
“B-Bring the car up…” Javier said and it held no emotions. The officer wanted to take action but before that, Javier’s personal bodyguards took the lead to guide the officers and get the work done.
At this time, Javier simply stood at the edge of the mountains and his eyes never tore from the dense forest below which was now covered with flames.
His heart trembled at the worst possibility. ‘How can you do this, Jennifer?’ Why did she take this route? Was she compelled to do so? It made sense but not that much where he was in the position to reason out anything. He wanted to be strong but there was nothing he could hold on to anyone.
“Sir the fire had dried down and the object that caught the fire was indeed a car. We are trying to bring it up with the help of a crane now.” The bodyguard’s head installed the information but Javier didn’t reply. He kept his eyes affixed to the situation until he saw the car with his eyes.
The sooner his guards worked and he saw them pulling up the car from down the dense forest. It had fallen from great heights but stayed at the minimum top level instead of being under the dense forest.
And as the car was moved upwards in the sky, his half-built-up hopes left his body when he fell to his knees with a blank face. “Jennifer… Lisa…” the car belonged to him. His car…
He could see a skeleton inside the car on the driving seat. They have died due to fire.. they were burnt…
His blood went dry at his sight as nothing came out of his mouth. His mind rang, he wanted to jump from this cliff too. He couldn’t live his life like this.. he wanted to be with the woman he loved and his daughter.
They died.. they left him alone and he could do nothing. Javier watched the dense forest where the fire had still not completely vanished. He wondered what his heart raced for. Should he go for it..
However, his flight of thought was disturbed as his phone rang. Bringing it out without removing his gaze from the flames below, he could hear a voice that pulled him out of the daze, “Javier, could you please call and reach out to Jennifer? I couldn’t connect to her. Ariana.. she has been crying continuously..”
“Javier? Hello? Are you listening to me?”
Sierra continued to call his name and checked twice whether she had dialed the wrong number. There was no voice of Javier and this made her frown. Did he pick up the phone but forgot to answer? She would have expected that the phone was hung up if not because of the breaths of the man on the other end.
“Javier? Are you alright?” She asked concernedly but all she received was a hoarse voice, broken soul, “Sierra.. Jennifer..” Javier failed to complete his words since the setback was huge. He didn’t know how to react but the name of his other daughter pushed him out of his deadly tights.
He couldn’t die.. could he? His other daughter? But then his eyes shifted themselves to find the car hanging in the air and body. Those body… were his lifelines…
His lips parted but no words came out. He wanted to lose control but couldn’t. Jumping didn’t look like a solution to him but he failed to understand a single emotion right now. He was numb to all sentiments flowing. Rage, fear, sadness, everything gulped him together and pinched his heart in the worst manner.
Yet what brought him out of his daze was the cries of a baby from the second end. Those cries… “Ariana…”
“Javier, why aren’t you telling me anything? Is everything fine or not? Jennifer and Lisa..” before Sierra finished her words, she heard a single word from his end which brought her goosebumps, “Died.”
