The King’s Daughter Survives - Chapter 6 Spellsword Registry
Several hours had gone by since the two, Bria and Quin had separated. There wasn’t too little that could happen in this amount of time. Guards had reported that the Princess has been sighted.
The two Princes were in an uproar, especially the second Prince. All of his atrocities had been witnessed by this supposed Princess, even though she didn’t remember.
It could be accurate to claim that she simply wasn’t conscious during this time, or her mind was protecting her and making her forget. The next thing which came to a shocking realization was that their father’s Alchemist had been seen dropping her off in the nobility district before he entered the Palace District.
The King wasn’t outraged. He didn’t even send a messenger to intercept the man. At least he knew his darling child was still alive and well. She wasn’t dead, she was just missing.
A new hope had ignited in the eyes of the King which had been absent since the disappearance of his one and only daughter. He was disappointed in the fact that he was too weak to protect her. How would he look into the eyes of her mother when it came to be his time to pass?
If she were to pass on before him, he concluded he’d be a failure of a father.
The King was a doting parent. Unlike many who chose to treat their daughters and sisters as mere tools for political dealings, she was his most prized possession. He’s the only reason why she was able to decline all these marriage attempts and break off engagements willy-nilly.
A game of hide and seek was going to begin, but because of how large the capital city was, there was so many places to hide. Just how will the second prince find his little sister?
Apparently the last time he was seen she was wearing a white gown and was proceeding barefoot. Her head also seemed to have been shaved to the point that there was only an inch of hair length left.
The Second Prince was in his chambers, staring at the report which was on his desk. The guards within the Palace District were within his control. He could only reach into the noble district, but most of the nobles were on the side of the First Prince. It is likely that they will not cooperate.
Even if they were lead to believe that the Princess was hiding amongst them and that they’d be rewarded should they bring her to the Palace, he doubted that she would come willingly.
Within his chambers he simply remained there at his desk, staring at the parchment. His eyes then gazed out the window towards the setting sun to the west. Taking in a deep breath, he would exhale to calm his nerves.
“Just where are you little chick,” he muttered under his breath before glancing over his shoulder towards the door which slowly creaked open.
“Your Highness, I’ve come with a girl for you tonight.” A maid would sound with a confident tone.
Smirking to himself, he stared at the girl three quarters of the size of the maid. She was wearing a burlap dress with a pair of tattered shorts. It was clear that her hygiene hinted towards her origins, the slums.
The girl’s face was one of fear, her eyes shaking more so than her body. They quickly looked side to side as if trying to identify where she was. When she laid her eyes on the window, on the man which was standing before it, all life seemed to drain from her face.
The second prince was known for taking girls from the slums for several nights of excruciating nights of pleasure and torture. While some of them were released, not many of them lived very long afterward, be it from the stress of torment or injury.
Those who died, were typically planted in the same house in which the Princess died prior.
In the Noble District, the girl dressed in a mage tunic layered of a white gown and boots was walking amongst the evening rabble. It was no longer busy out here and the most she had been doing was going shop to shop.
“The things I need” She muttered to herself as she walked over to a dress shop. Her indifferent expression seen many times before took over her face. These monstrous dresses were the enemy of women.
Oddly enough, it was a man’s mind thinking this.
Dresses were the enemies of wallets too. Especially since every prom, every ball. No one wanted to wear the same dress over and over again. One day wardrobes will flood the world of its sinners. Crushing them with soft fabrics and soothing silk!
Bria found herself now in front of the Mage Guild’s Noble Headquarters. Walking to the front door, she tilted her head to the side a bit looking around. There were a few people in the foyer gathered around billboards and tables which normal members sat and studied.
Walking up to the front counter, she stared at the woman who was reading a book. Completely engulfed in whatever she was skimming through.
“Three ticks finishes a sentence.” Bria would make herself known, making the woman jump slightly and look up towards the female in front of her. Blinking a few times.
This mage sitting behind the counter was staring at the girl now, returning the gaze in which Bria was giving her. However what she was looking at wasn’t necessarily the girl, but the affinities and mana stock pile she had. The way the mana stock appeared to look was rather puzzling. Then she noticed the emblem on the front of the robe.
It was their own?
“Are you apart of the Guild? I’ve never seen you before.”
Letting out a soft sigh, Bria would smile a little. “No, I’m not. I bought a blank enchanted mages robe and embroidered the emblem on it.” She lied, but it was more acceptable to say this than say she was randomly gifted it for completing a quest.
“I see” The woman looked at her skeptical, but she knew that no one within the guild was the same size as this female. On top of that the mana around her seemed to act as if she was a high human. If that was the case, then there was definitely something off about her.
“I’d like to join the Mage Guild,” Bria would have her head lull to the side slightly as she watched the person behind the counter. It was as if she was trying to perceive who she was. However it didn’t seem as if she could determine who she was by just asking.
Closing the book in front of herself, the woman would take out another book and open it up. Taking out a quill pen and dipping it into ink. “Name? Age and residence?”
Bria’s eye twitched slightly when she was asked these things. Lowering her hood, she looked up at the woman who’s eyes slowly widened.
“Your”
The woman was cut off as Bria reached out and made a pinching motion with her index and thumb. She couldn’t open her mouth to speak another word. It was using so little mana, that no one in the guild seemed to notice right away.
“Briana Spellsword. Sixteen. No residence.”
The Princess said these words slowly. As if each word was a threatening message. A Princess who was adored by the common folk was here, trying to conceal her identity.
Pulling her hood back up onto her head, concealing her face beneath its rim. She released the woman’s lips.
Placing her hand on her mouth, caressing her lips slightly. “Briana Spellsword it is” She muttered and wrote it down in the registry log with the information provided. “And the fee?”
Placing a platinum gold coin onto the counter, the woman stared at it for a few seconds before putting it into the safe and exchanging it for ninety nine regular gold coins and placing them on the counter for the girl to take.
Bria would take them into her inventory before smiling a bit at the woman who gave her the guild ID which was printed from a magical stone being used as a paper weight.
The woman then handed Bria the translucent card which had her new alter-ego’s information. As soon as she touched it, her stats popped up on the piece card. Making her grin slightly, she put that in her inventory as well before bowing her head slightly.
The clerk behind the counter was astonished. The princess was bowing to her? She was almost brought to tears. Royalty bowing to a mere common clerk in respect.
Bria then made her way over to the bulletin board and looked over the requests which were posted. Unlike the adventurer’s guild, there was no real ranking requirement for these requests. They were mostly affinity or spell-type requirements.
These requests ranged from collecting herbs, enchanting objects, healing illness and injured. Even churches sent requests to the mages for their aid, especially for those specifically with holy or divine affinity.

[ Quest Added: Complete a Quest from the Mage Guild. 1,000 EXP. ]
[ Quest Added: Join or create a Party of two or more. 50% EXP Circlet. ]
Looking over the requests, there was very few of them she could do due to not having something as grand as holy or divine magic. There was plenty of requests for a mage who could use light magic for adventurers who were going into dark caves and labyrinths.
While that would be an adventurer to behold, it wasn’t something she wanted right now.
“Hmm”
“Hey kid,” a man about seven feet tall stood looming over her. Staring down at her from behind.
She simply looked up towards him, her hood blocking her view. She could very much tell this man was two feet taller than herself.
“Sup big man?” Bria called out with a cheeky smile across her lips..
The big man looked down at her with a cheeky smile of his own as he reached down and pinched the bridge of her nose. “If you’re looking for a quick quest, I suggest this one.”
The big individual whom was looming over her pointed at a request put in by a farmer who was experimenting with underground farming. Apparently this was a long term quest, but it had a large amount of pay available. There were only three slots, two of them had been taken.
“Underground farming, huh?” Bria placed a hand on her lower lip in thought.
The big man simply stared down at her. He could only see her pale lips and her little red nose. She was adorable and he couldn’t help but smile with satisfaction.
She was completely ignoring the fact that he was pinching her nose.
“Are you doing this quest?” Bria would ask curiously, but she could see the man shake his head side to side through the fabric of her hood. Even though she couldn’t make out his features.
“Hm Then lets form a party and do one together. Yeah?” She went to touch his hand, little claws on the tips of her fingers appeared, made out of light magic.
Just as they were about to touch, he withdrew his hand and laughed. “Ooo! Feisty little one!” He rubbed his forearm slightly as if imagining the pain from those claws that had quickly dispersed when he retracted his hand.
“Sure, sure.” He pulled a quest off of the bulletin board and looked it over for a few moments before handing it to the girl to have a look at his choice.

The circlet which appeared on her forehead had a gold vine-like shape with three green emerald colored minerals embedded into it. It gave off a light glow due to its enchantment.
“Hmm” Looking at the quest which was offered to her, the girl would take in the details. This request was asking for a couple of people who have polar opposite magics: Darkness and Light affinity. It was an experiment in combining different affinities to create a new school of magic, Twilight.
“Sounds like the information from this experiment would be fruitful,” Bria would say before looking up at the man with a smirk engraving itself across her pale little lips.
“I’ll take that as a yes.”
[ Quest Complete: Pick a Quest from the Bulletin Board. Rewarded. Equipped ]
The item which was equipped was a silver ring with an Amethyst jewel embedded upon it. As if admiring her fingers, she looked down at her hand as she held it out in front of her. She wasn’t a girl who liked diamonds. Especially since they now knew how to make them artificially due to the new life residing in the body.
“My name is Claude, it is a pleasure to meet you Miss Spellsword.” The man said as he patted her shoulder in a friendly manner. He wasn’t the type to shake hands.
“You as well, Mr Claude.”
