The King’s Mandate: Anomalous System - Chapter 406
“You were making an interesting face, so I clicked it again.”
“You have three seconds to put your phone back. If you do, I won’t do anything to you or your phone, and if you don’t, I will break your phone and push you down again, this time, more fiercely. And you will scream intensely, but no one would ever come to help you.”
Elena immediately put her phone back and hugged herself.
“Good.” Das sat on his chair, saying, “Let’s start now.”
“Where do I sit? I don’t have a chair.”
“I don’t care. Sit wherever you want.. Sit on my lap.”
Das took out his laptop and started doing his daily reports.
Elena stared at him for a while and slowly walked to him.
Das was lost in his work and didn’t’ pay any attention to her.
Elena slowly crouched down and sat on Das’ lap.
Surprised, Das jolted, and the chair loosed balance as they both fell down.
The laptop was still on the desk, but the chair had half-broke, and Elena was on top of Das.
Das stared at her as he frowned his eyes and said, “Is this revenge?”
Elena quickly got up and stood in the middle of the room.
Das also got up and sighed, saying, “I pushed you down in the elevator, and that’s because I tried to take the phone from you. It wasn’t on purpose at all. And you just pushed me down from the chair to get revenge?”
Elena violently shook her head and hands as she said, “No, no. I was trying to sit on your lap.”
“….”
“Your face is clearly saying, ‘Why do you wanted to sit on my lap?’.”
“I know I said that, but I can’t believe you seriously did that”
Elena’s face slowly got flushed as she muttered, “idiot.”
“I heard that”
“So what?! I will also say it out loud. I~di~ot!”
“Why do you look so happy?” Das asked.
“I am not happy.”
“You are grinning.”
Elena covered her mouth and said, “I am not grinning.”
“Could it be that it was on purpose after all?”
Elena faze twitched as she said, “Only if you weren’t dense, you would be a perfect boyfri–!” She cleared her throat and added, “Perfect boy.”
“Excuse me? I am not dense.”
“You are even more dense if you think you are not dense.”
“Lately, you have been insulting me more and more, you know?”
“I am not. Why would I insult you?”
“Because you hate me?” Das inquired.
“I don’t hate you!”
“Yeah, yeah.”
‘Like I will believe that. Any sane person would sure hate me, or even want to kill me if I treat them like I have treated Elena’
Das walked to the desk and looked at his broken chair.
“It’s broken too.”
“Let’s go home!” Elena said in a cheerful voice.
“What happened to your motivation from a while ago?”
“..”
“You know the exams start next week, right?”
“I know.”
“Then you have to try harder.”
Das walked to the door and said, “Stay here. I will bring a chair from another room.”
Das went into the nearest room and brought two chairs.
“What are you waiting for now? Sit. We have already wasted enough time.”
Elena started studying, and Das was surfing on the internet.
He glanced at Elena from the side and averted his gaze.
‘Now then.’
He looked at the wall and thought, ‘What happened here yesterday?’
He glanced around the room to find some clue but couldn’t find anything.
“I am done,” Elena said as she slid her notepad towards Das.
Das checked the solutions and nodded.
“All good. But try to learn the second method for the last problem. I personally find the second one easier than the first and the third one.”
“I will try.”
Das pressed some keys on his laptop and said, “I am sending you one file. I made the list of the most important questions in our syllabus. If you do that, you will easily pass.”
“Really?!”
“Yeah”
Elena checked the file and said, “There are no questions for mathematics.”
“There is no need for mathematics. The questions can be easily tweaked. So you just do your best to memorize the methods and just go along with the equations.”
“It gets difficult.”
“It is supposed to be difficult. And if you just focus on a similar equation, you can minimize the time. It will also help you to save some time for the latter problems.”
Elena slightly frowned and said, “Why does math even exist? It’s so lame and boring.”
“Only for you.”
“It’s also useless.”
“It’s not”
“Then tell me. What is mathematics used for?”
“Many things. And the math in high school is just the basics of what we are going to study in our majors. If we don’t take it seriously right now, it will trouble you in the future.”
“You know, you sound like a motivational speaker.”
“I am more like a demotivational speaker. I like to damp peoples’ confidence.”
“Lies. You have never done that to me.”
“That’s because I don’t need to. Why would I go my way to damp an idiot?”
Elena raised her finger and pointed it at Das as she said, “You promised you would never call me an idiot again.”
Das grinned a little and said, “Let me call you idiot once in a while.”
Elena’s face suddenly flushed.
“Why is your face red?” asked Das.
“It’s not red.”
“It is.”
Elena rolled her eyes and said, “Is that your way of getting my attention?”
“What do you mean?”
“You said you want to call me an idiot. Is that like a special referral to me?”
Das slightly blushed as she said, “No.”
“Aww. Why is your face red?”
“It’s no red.”
“It is.”
‘Dammit! She just turned the tables. She always does this.’
‘No matter how hard I try to make fun of her, I don’t succeed. She always has comebacks to all my teasing.’
‘But I guess I don’t mind it.’
