The King’s Mandate: Anomalous System - Chapter 408
‘Dammit,’ Das glanced at Elena, who was surprisingly focused on her lessons.
‘She made me say some embarrassing things’
‘Today is the worst day of my life. First, she made me worry about her. Second, she made me run after her in the entire school. Third, she distracted me from the study… though I don’t pay attention anyway. Fourth, she made me say sorry to her. Fifth, she made me say sorry again, and she even recorded it. Sixth, Samuel saw us. Seventh, she asked me about various stuff. Eight, she sat on my lap and broke my chair. Ninth, she then yelled at me. Tenth, she made me say embarrassing things’
Sigh~
Das sighed as he thought, ‘I can make a thousand-page list of my revenge.’
“By the way, Das, have you heard about the rumor going on in the school?”
“Hmm?” Das tilted his head.
“So you don’t know.”
“Are you going to tell or not?”
Elena squinted her eyes and said, “What’s with that attitude? I won’t say it now.”
“Wha…!”
‘This bitch! I really want to push her down and take my revenge. Dammit! Why am I so weak against her?’
Das gritted his teeth and scoffed, saying, “Then don’t tell me. I will ask someone else.”
Elena smirked as she said, “Do you even know anyone you can ask?”
“Please tell me.”
Elena flicked her hair as she said, “Heh! You should have asked like that in the first place. If you had, you would have saved my time. Seriously, stop wasting my time.”
“One more word, and I will get angry.”
“Fine, fine. I am telling.” Elena’s face flushed as she said, “So no physical violence.”
‘It looks like that tackle really worked. She keeps saying no physical violence, while I have no plan to hit her…. I mean, I do want to punch her and stuff, but I won’t do it. I know I won’t do it. I can’t do it even if I want to. I mean, there is no way I can hit her if she makes a face like that.’
“So, what’s the rumor?”
“Do you remember I told you I went to the washroom earlier?”
“Yeah”
“Some girls were talking there.”
“Oh?” Das finally looked interested.
“I couldn’t hear much, but they were saying something like a third-year student got gang-raped and her boyfriend got killed or something.”
“…”
Elena noticed the intense glare coming from Das’ eyes. Even though Das wasn’t glaring at her, she felt scared.
She gulped down and said, “Maybe I just misheard?”
“There is no way you can mishear something like this”
Das got up from the chair and walked to the window.
‘Alright, that explains everything.’
‘This room has no camera, so they must have brought that girl here.’
He then looked at the bloodstain. ‘That explains the bloodstain and the broken chair.’
“Das?”
Das shook his head and said, “It’s nothing.”
He turned around and said, “Read that page and then pack your bag; we are going home.”
“Ok…ay.”
‘What would have happened if Elena and I were still here yesterday?’
‘No, forget that. Elena said after she ran away yesterday, she went to the washroom. What would have happened if she had come back here when those guys brought that girl here?”
Das clenched his fist and said, ‘I don’t want to imagine.’
“Das”
‘What the hell is wrong with humans?’
“Das”
‘Even schools are not safe.’
“Das?”
‘But I hate the adults more. I am sure all teachers know about this. And they are keeping this quiet. What the hell is wrong with them? Humans are beyond saving. Then all should just–‘
Elena reached her hand to Das’ shoulder as she called his name, “Das?”
Das was still lost in his thoughts when he looked back at Elena, ‘–just die.’
There was malice in his eyes—pure evil.
Elena froze up as she tried to back off but stumbled to the chair and fell down.
Das stared at Elena and thought, ‘See? Are you seeing this, Das? If you show her your true self, she will be scared of you. She will hate you. Do you want her to hate you?’
Das opened his mouth and muttered, “I don’t.”
“Hu..h?” Elena was still staring back at him.
‘She is trembling!’
Das scratched his head as he reached his hand at Elena to help her get up.
“What’s wrong? Are you scared of me?” Das asked.
“Elena slowly grabbed his hand and got up.
“I thought you were angry at me or something.”
Das chuckled as she said, “I am not. DIdn’t I promise you that I wouldn’t yell at you or get angry at you?”
Elena nodded as she let go of Das’ hand.
Elena finally stopped trembling.
Das smiled a little as he moved his hand at Elena’s head.
“What are you–”
Das patted her.
Since Das was patting her, and Elena was facing the floor, Das couldn’t see her face.
When he was done with the pat, Elena slowly looked up. Her face was red as blood, and there were tear in her eyes,
“Why are you—” Das was about to ask her why she was making a face like that.
“You can’t just do that, you know?”
“Huh? Oh! You are worried about your hairstyle?” Das smirked at said, “Don’t worry, they were already messy.”
Elena glared at Das and puckered her lips as she said, “Idiot.”
“I heard you.”
Das turned around and Elena walked to the door as she shrugged her shoulders, saying, “So what?” She then tilted her head at Das and said, “I~di~ot.”
Das started at her, thinking, ‘I can’t tell if she is happy or angry. Or maybe both?’
He started walking as he thought, ‘I mean, Lier likes my pats. She likes it too much that she gets annoying.’
“Hey, wait up!” Das shouted as he caught up to Elena.
‘You are so slow.’
“I heard you running as soon as you left the room.”
Elena flinched as she flicked her hair and said, “That was just me walking fast.”
“Yeah, yeah.”
