The King’s Mandate: Anomalous System - Chapter 409
They both got into the elevator and kept glancing at each other with the corner of their eyes.
Das smirked inwardly as he thought, ‘Alright. Let’s do this.’
Das slowly raised his hands towards Elena.
Elena jumped back to the corner and asked, “What are you trying to do?”
“Nothing”
Elena sighed in relief and once again stood beside Das.
‘Heh! That reaction was good. But I can do something better.’
Das slowly moved his hand from the back so that Elena wouldn’t notice and then touched Elena’s shoulder..
Elena jolted as he jumped to the corner of the elevator again.
“Why are you doing this?!” Elena shouted.
“What do you mean?”
“Why are you… touching mee?”
“Oh!” Das widened his eyes and said, “I was just trying to stretch my hands, and they touched you by mistake.”
Elena frowned her eyes and slowly stood beside Das.
She was now cautious.
Das glanced at her and thought, ‘Did I went too far?’
Elena was sweating, and her heartbeats could be easily heard.
‘Maybe I should apologize?’
“Elen–”
Elena jumped to the corner again and said, “What?!”
‘This is worse than I imagined.’
“Why are you acting so scared?” Das asked.
“I am not acting. I am seriously scared.”
“Why are you scared?”
“Don’t you remember what happened here in the lunch break?”
‘I do.’
“What are you talking about?” Das asked, acting dumb.
“Y-You pushed me down.”
‘Of course, I remember that. And that was my plan. I wanted to scare her, but… she is more scared than I imagined. I kind of feel bad.’
Das cleared his throat and said, “That was just an accident, you know? No need to worry about it.”
“Of course, I will worry about it.”
‘I am alone with the boy I love. It has always been hard for me to interact normally with him. Especially when he is dense.’
“Why are you worried about it? I mean, if I wanted to do it, I would have done it, you know?”
Elena stood beside Das and said, “I am a girl, you know?”
Das’ eyes widened as he stared at Elena.
“And being alone with a boy is scary for every girl,” Elena added.
“…”
Ding~
The door opened, and Elena walked out of the elevator, but Das was still standing inside, staring at Elena in wonder.
Elena turned back and grinned as she said, “What’s wrong? Do you want to go up again?”
Das scoffed and said, “I will drag you with me if I do.”
He left the elevator and rushed to Elena.
The words Elena said before leaving the elevator hit Das.
‘I am a girl, you know? And being alone with a boy is scary for every girl.’
Das’ face was so flushed that he could feel the heat.
‘What’s wrong with me.’
‘Why am I getting embarrassed now?’
Das glanced at Elena and thought, ‘It’s Elena, dammit! Don’t think anymore.’
Elena looked up, saying, “What’s wrong—? Why are you looking that way?”
When Elena looked up, Das turned his face to the side.
“Hey, why are you looking that way?” Elena asked again.
“It’s nothing.”
“There has to be something.”
“It’s really nothing.”
Elena smirked and slowly moved to See Das’ face. But by the time she could see his face, he had already recovered from Elena’s attack.
“Tch!” Elena clicked her tongue and said, “I thought maybe you were now conscious of me.”
Das punched her back, saying, “It’s you we are talking about.”
Elena pouted as she turned back and said, “You don’t know how to talk with girls.”
‘I honestly don’t,’ Das thought.
“You are the only girl I have talked to in my entire life.”
“Hah?”
“After my mother, cousin, and aunt.”
“Really?”
“Add my grandmother too,” Das added.
“So that means I am your first?”
“No, you are not.”
‘And don’t say it like that.’
Elena’s face frowned as she said, “But you said You haven’t talked to–”
“That’s something impossible.”
“But you said–”
Das interrupted her and said, “Listen to me first.”
Sigh~
Elena sighed in disappointment.
‘Wow. She loses interest too quick.’
“Ahem,” Das cleared his throat and said, “Listen, I have talked with lots of girls, but no more than one minute. Maybe some go until thirty minutes, but no more than that. And I won’t even remember their names, so you should be grateful you are getting to talk to me.”
“Yeah,” Elena turned back at Das with a wide grin and said, “I am very grateful.”
‘Again’
‘My heart just fluttered.’
They walked out of the school gate.
Now was the time for them to part their ways and go home.
‘What should I do? I have already spent much time with him today, but I still wanted to be with him for a little more. But after what I said in the elevator, I feel nervous.’ Elena thought as she slowed down her pace.
‘Finally, I am free from her. Now I will go home and focus on my reports. But… what is this feeling? I feel like I want to be with her for a little more time.’
Das turned around to call Elena, and at the same time, Elena turned around to call Das.
When they turned around, they both were staring at each other.
“What’s wrong? Do you need something?” Das asked.
“What about you? It felt like you were going to call me.”
“No, no. That must be your imagination. Why would I call you.”
“Yeah, right,” Elena clenched her bag straps and said, “Okay then, see you tomorrow.”
“Yeah, see you tomorrow.”
Elena turned back and started walking, but Das just stood there and watched her leave.
‘Come on, Das. Where is your usual attitude? Just stop her and say you want something… yeah! Just say you still need to give her some questions’
Das was going to call Elena’s name, but Elena turned back and froze when she saw Das still standing there.
“What’s wrong? You really want something from me, right?” Das asked.
Elena slightly nodded as her face flushed and said, “Can we.. can we…”
“Say, Elena, how about we drop by at the cafe? I will give you some more questions.”
Elena’s face cheered up as she dashed at Das, saying, “Well, if you say so.”
Das slightly smiled as he thought, ‘I admire her courage for being honest.’
