The King’s Mandate: Anomalous System - Chapter 424
‘Now left these 386 male employees. What should I do now?’
The cafe door opened, and Derek walked in. He first glanced around and spotted Das, then went to the counter and talked with the manager. He then sat in front of Das and loosened his tie.
“Isn’t it hot?” Das asked. It wasn’t that hot, but Derek looked sweaty.
“This happens when you suddenly go out after sitting in the air conditioner for a long time.”
“What did you talk about with the manager?”
“I just asked him to make some special arrangements.”
“Like?” Das was the type of person who liked questioning but hated being questioned..
“Nothing much; I just asked them to use the top class ingredients.”
“Then our order will take time to arrive.”
“Yeah, do you mind?”
“Nope.”
‘You just made this easier for me. Thanks, dad.’ Das once again started filtering the search. Out of 386 employees, four were spies.
‘This makes no sense, but those spies must have joined in the same batch, on the same date… right?’
‘If I am wrong here, then I have no chance to go back. This is my last chance because there will be no second chance for this.’
‘I really don’t care about my business, but I won’t let dad’s fall.’
After the last search, 7 employees matched the criteria.
‘Now this is bad and good at the same time.’ Finding out four from thousands was much easier for Das, rather than finding out 4 from 7.
Das was carefully inspecting the profiles of all the seven employees.
‘If there is something common between the four, they are my target.’
“What’s wrong, Das? You look troubled,” Derek asked.
“It’s nothing. I am just checking out the annual stats.”
“How are they?”
“They look good.”
“Thankfully, it can increase by forty percent if our recent collaboration deal goes perfect.”
“…”
‘What’s this collaboration deal he is talking about? That guy was talking the same.’ Das closed the page and opened the recent deals. The first one on the list was a big collaboration deal.
Das clicked on it and gazed at the numbers, the benefits, and the final result.
He sighed and put the tablet on the table. “Dad,”
“Hmm?”
“Cancel this deal.”
Derek stared at Das for some ten seconds before saying, “Umm… what?”
He was sweating, not because it was hot; the air conditioners were on in the cafe. He was sweating because of what Das just said.
Das slid the tablet towards Derek and said, “Cancel this deal.”
“Any reason why?”
“It’s a trap.”
Derek once again stared at Das for a good ten seconds before saying, “Alright.”
‘That guy feared about this deal. If this deal goes successful, there is no doubt that dad’s company will take the top spot.’
‘Why did that guy ask to stop this deal? I thought he made this deal because the numbers are so off. They look perfect, but this is the type of shit that won’t ever happen if done practically.’
‘If that guy didn’t make this deal, then that means there are also others who are after dad’s company.’
‘I guess I know what I am going to do this weekend.’
“I will call and cancel the deal,” Derek said as he tried to reach for the phone in his pocket. “Oh! I might have forgotten my phone at my office.”
Derek got up, saying, “I will go get–”
“There is no need for you to go, dad. I will go” Das stood up.
“But–”
“I would be more anxious here in an unfamiliar place alone rather than getting the phone from your office.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yeah, you just wait here. I will get your phone for you” Das exited the cafe.
‘And kill those spies too’ Das had finally figured out who those 4 spies were.
‘It’s about ten minutes walk. If I run, I can make it in five minutes’ He then moved his neck around in an unusual way, making a crack sound from his neck. ‘That is if I take the normal route. I know a way where I can get there in two minutes.’
Das started running in the opposite direction of the office.
There was an alley right around the block. Das turned left and went into the alley. After running for around 20 seconds, there were 2 more alleys in front of him. He took the left alley and kept running.
After running for 27 more seconds, he was standing in an open street. He glanced around to confirm the cars and measure his destination. He started running as fast as he could. The cars were passing at full speed, but he paid no attention, nor did he waver; he just kept running.
After crossing the long street, he stood before the long gate.
He climbed the gate and jumped in. After running and jumping over some small walls, he reached the ‘Ryle’ company’s back exit.
Das stopped to catch his breath. He was panting unevenly.
“This might be… the fastest… I have run… in a… year.” He panted.
His throat had completely dried up, but drinking water wasn’t his priority.
Back exit was only allowed for Derek and some other chief-heads, so the security there was rather strict.
As Das tried to enter, he was stopped by the two securities standing in the corner. The other five security guards were inside.
As soon as Das turned around to show his face, they started sweating and apologized, saying, “We are sorry, Sir. You can go.”
It was very wise of them, or maybe it was just their luck that they had seen Das leaving with Derek before.
Das was so pissed right now that he could barely hold it in.
He got into the elevator and stopped at the 11th floor.
Das had his phone with him. When he was in the elevator, he messed with the elevator sensors.
After getting out on the 11th floor, Das walked into the room right beside the elevator and brought a sign with him.
The sign was ‘Work in progress.’ He hid it behind the loan window and patiently waited there.
‘Anytime now.’
A man wearing a suit hurried over to the elevator. He was sweating and glancing around crazily as if he was running away and making sure no one was looking at him.
‘First target spotted.’
