The Kpop Otaku’s Dream - Chapter 124 Black Bellied
“Hyori? Is there anything bothering you? I can help” I look at her with slight worry in my eyes. Even Irene feels a slight tension and grabs onto my hand. Nodding, that it was right of me to express concern, she can feel it too. Something isn’t right.
Hyori smiles at the two innocent kids who are sincerely facing her, as a person. And not some ‘star’ for the first time in a long time and responds in kind, “It’s fine kids. Don’t worry about me. Unnie can take care of herself. All I need from Dylan right now is his time. Can you give it to me?”
Seeing her plea, I can’t ignore it. If someone is bleeding out in front of you, you not going to just call the ambulance and Idly wait by, you are going to try something, even if its, not the smartest thing to do. That’s what makes us human.
“Fine” I concede, “Give me five minutes. I need to get changed” I negotiate.
Before I enter the bedroom, I turn back to Irene, “Baechu, are you coming with?”
She nods her head fiercely, as I close the door. “Try and make our guest feel welcome okay”
I head into the room and take a deep breath as I think of the next move. Should I really just let things play out? I know Hyori ends up on the winning side of the matter eventually, but do I just want things to play out as they did in my original timeline?
If you think about it, my being here has already affected the state of affairs, who knows if my knowledge is still accurate or not.
‘Argh! I’m losing my mind’
Since when have I ever been one to think about consequences, Screw it! let’s just do whatever I want. If something happens. Then it happens.
Making my way over to the bedside table I reach for my phone that is in the charger and dial a number.
“Boss!” The voice on the other end screams
“Aha, find out what you can about M-net media. Send me everything that you have within the next 10 minutes or you’re fired.”
Before even allowing the man on the other end to answer. I hang up and proceed to pick out what to wear.
In the end, I decided to keep it smart casual, with white trainers, a tapered bottom blue pants and matching blazer, with a white sweater underneath. I fix my hair into a pompadour, which makes me feel a little more refined, and grab a pair of black Ray-Bans to match.
After an adjustment or two, my phone goes off signaling that I just received a mail. Logging on to my PC, I give it a quick once over and print it, before tucking the pages into my inner jacket pocket
As I exit the room, I can literally feel Hyori’s eyes undressing me as she comments, “Wow! You clean up nice for a kid”
I respond in kind, “I know. And you’re not to bad yourself Ahjumma”
Irene giggles, as I make my way over to the key rack and pick out the keys for the Maserati. Got to keep it a little less showy today, I remind myself.
“You going to lead the way and Joohyun and I will follow?” I ask Hyori
“My manager will drive in front and we can follow him,” She says
“We?”
She points at Irene, her and myself. As if it’s obvious
“Hey, why are WE? together, when you came with your own car?” I say
“Because I get to spend more time with my little ones this way” She fires back as she exits
Irene soon follows, and it soon becomes clear to me. That girls like them always get their way. They right even when they wrong. If you don’t get that through your head. You will never last long.
Thinking back to our date on the beach, I remember the old man’s advice ‘In a relationship, relationship one person is always right and the other is the husband!’
Chuckling at nothing, in particular, I follow the two to the elevator as we make our way to my vehicle and off to the recording studio.
15 or so minutes we arrive at this quite quint in comparison to the S-Group building that’s about 6 floors. It fits into the modern aesthetic surrounding it.
After successfully parking, Hyori leads us inside. Greeting everyone whose inside. Something about this place just doesn’t smell right. Unlike the S.M building which felt lively, this entire place just feels …. wrong.
Grabbing Irene’s small hands, I pull her closer as we enter the booth. A strange smell enters my nose. And I quickly trace its origin to a certain substance, which may get me demonetized (not that I am anyway. C’mon Qidian give me some bank!)
Hyori’s nose crinkles as she visibly tries to control her temper, with her teeth clenched she greets “Hello, Boss!” she bows to the shady looking middle-aged man who’s sitting next to the sound producer.
He smiles, back as his eyes wander towards Hyori, lecherously “Why if it’s not my favorite money maker. If your manager didn’t tell me you are coming in, I wouldn’t have seen you would I?” He chuckles finding something hilarious as Hyori is growing ever the more uncomfortable.
