The Lady Of The Future - Chapter 2
It’s been 10 years since the system was born into this world. Born as a little girl, she was named Alfina Eve y Sila. The little princess of Empyrean Royal Family of the Empyrean Empire at Azure Realm. At the age of 1, Alfina was diagnosed with a condition called ‘Unfeeling’ by the Healers of Azure Realm. She basically cannot experience the feeling but could understand them. Her Royal Mother was devastated to the news that she even fainted.
Alfina was the youngest amongst the children of three and had two older brothers. When she turned 2 she could speak Empyrean Language fluently. At the age of three, she started to be curious about the world she’s in.
At the age of 6, Alfina already learned to read and write all the languages and numbers available at Azure Realm. But her curiosity didn’t end there. Somehow, she overheard that there was a place where a lot of books can be read. She went to her Royal Parents.
“Royal Father.” Alfina kneeled down in the audience room in front of her father sitting on the throne.
“Fina.” Her Royal Father addressed her to stand up but when Alfina didn’t, he had a bad feeling.
Slowly, Alfina’s sparkling eyes stared, determined at her Royal Father, “Royal Father, may I visit Azure National Library.”
Almost instantly, her Royal Father stressed his answer, “No.”
Alfina somehow knew that she would be refused if she started with the biggest Library. So, she asked the next, “Then, can I visit Empyrean Royal Library instead?” She also tilted her head to look cute.
“U-u…” Her Royal Father almost gave in but her Royal Mother was beside him, she controlled the situation in the right path again, saying, “No.”
After being denied the second time as a child, Alfina felt cold but she didn’t know what it was. It was like she wanted to lash out but couldn’t express it. She just silently left as it was true that she’s just too young to learn all the books.
But she couldn’t be stopped that easily. The more they suppressed her the more she wanted to do something big. Sitting in the window bench comfortably, Alfina blankly stared in the surrounding observing it in the process. Simple daily life but could make her curious to how it functions.
Looking at a distance, she saw Floating Cloud Cars flying here and there. The farmers were harvesting crops from Cloud plants. The Cloud Gardeners were fertilizing the Cloud Garden with Cloud Fertilizer. The nearby town that could be seen was also made with Clouds. If you weren’t used to seeing clouds, you cannot differentiate anything apart from some plants popping out from gardens and streets. The most apparent of them all was the still weather in the Azure Realm. Neither too hot nor too cold. Even at night, the sky was clearly shining together with the moon.
Alfina looked back to ask one of her maids, “Why is that weather unchanging? Where’s the water coming from?”
The maids felt hesitant to answer but one of the senior maids answered, “Answering the Princess, we don’t know where the water was coming from, but the weather was made to be still since the day it was created.”
Having the question answered, Alfina turned her head back to observe the people. She didn’t ask anymore. But her curiosity about the world just increased. She felt like she should know everything about the whole world and felt empty by not knowing a single thing. Something was removed from her.
At the age of 10, sorting out the questions she had and live normally as her Royal Mother wanted her to be, she courageously went to her Royal Father for an official audience. Granted, she went and unhurriedly give courtesies. Seeing that her Royal Mother was missing, Alfina thought that this was going to be an easy win.
“Royal Father, can I be permitted to own a piece of territory?” Alfina seriously pleaded while kneeling down, unmoved.
“I cannot give you a territory…” Alfina felt dejected. Her Royal Father felt like it was too early for the 10 years old little princess to have her own territory so he compromised with, “…But I could give you your own place in the palace.”
Alfina’s eyes sparkled again and sincerely said, “Thank you Royal Father.”
When her Royal Mother heard of this news, she abruptly lashed out to her Royal Father. Wuxiaworld for visiting.
“What the hell are you doing?!” Her Royal Mother angrily said.
Her Royal Father couldn’t help but explain, “You shouldn’t cut the wings of a flying bird.”
Her Royal Mother’s eyes were bloodshot saying, “You know why I’m doing this, why we’re doing this since way back right?! Why can’t you just continue?!”
Her Royal Father just left her Royal Mother frustratingly grumble to do some work for the Empire.
The little princess Alfina busily packed her things to go to her place.
“Princess, may we know where you plan to go?” The head maid asked her.
Alfina blankly looked at her and remembered that it wasn’t announced yet, “I’m packing my things to go to my new home. My own personal space.”
The head maid couldn’t believe that she was hearing this to a 10-year-old. Truly, their princess was unique amongst many. She helped Alfina packed up and went to her place. They arrived at a blue colored-cloud mansion. The moment some of the maids were going to follow Alfina to come inside, Alfina faced them all…
“Are you going with me?” she asked.
The maids looked at the head maid, “Answering the Princess, it is our job to assist the princess and her mansion.”
Alfina thought for a bit and announced, “Okay then. Nobody apart from, her (the senior maid who answered her question before) and the head maid was allowed to enter my room, my storage room, and my special place. Are we clear?”
Though the other maids were confused, the head maid and the senior maid understood the intention of Alfina. The reason why she wanted to detach to the Royal Castle was the requirements of her desired place. 1, Independence. 2, Peace and Silence. Lastly, Isolation.
That’s why her Royal Mother didn’t allow her to spend her life by herself. Her Royal Mother was scared that the day that she would feel like a stranger to her own family would come by following these desires. She was scared that her only daughter would be someone that wouldn’t hesitate to commit immorality of any kind to anyone, even to her family. A nightmare indeed.
But her Royal Father that though she couldn’t feel anything, she has the rationality and knowledge to make up for it. Alfina’s understanding could be trusted.
She called her sanctuary, Enclave.
After 2 years of independence…
