Years after, Alfina read as many books as she could. She learned as many things as she can to deepen her understanding of the world. She finally learned that the world was divided into two Realms. The Azure Realm that they live in that’s above the ‘Clouds’ and Mortal Realm below where you could see the vast lands (soil) and was close to the waters.
The people in Azure Realm are called Irah. They used to be the same as the mortals, humans, but mutated and was able to walk in the air. They have a strong heart to defy twice the gravity that humans withstand. Therefore, they could live up to 200 years old. The children would grow till they’re 15 years old and would stop growing and would continue growing at their 116-year-old birthdays. It was like their time to stop and continue the next period.
The people below, in the Mortal Realms, were called Mortals but in general, they’re normal humans in a sense. Their lifespan was 100 years. The growth was normal. But their technology was lacking.
The two kinds of humans used to be on the same plain and environment. But human greed was inevitable. The Mortals envy the Irah’s lifespan and ability. Therefore, led by the Holy Church, the Irahs was hunted together with the ‘Witches’.
During that era, unexpected by the Mortals, a genius among the Irahs created a new world for his mankind. Today we called it Azure Realm. He was the very ancestor, the direct bloodline of Empyrean Royal Family, Alfonso Hyde. He also had the condition of ‘Unfeeling’ therefore it wasn’t really shocking when they learned that Alfina inherited the ‘sickness’.
It’s been going on to some children of the Empyrean Royal Family but once in an era. At first, the first case was treated as the reincarnation of the genius ancestor. But then that child didn’t show the same signs of becoming a genius. From then on, ‘Unfeeling’ was just treated as a normal disease and should be treated considerately by the family.
Then comes Alfina, she was the very first case of ‘Unfeeling’ that developed the term ‘Genius’. AT that moment, it was already foreseen the moment she was born that she would do something big. Alfina herself understood that her family didn’t really mean what they do and just categorized Louis as a ‘brat’.
What’s expression wrecking was learning that she was named after their ancestor. At first, she thought it was unique, now it looks like it came from something after all. She bet that her father was cornered by the healers of the Azure Realm to named her like that. (Father: If you know, then don’t be upset >.<)
It was said by Alfonso Hyde himself that, ‘Unfeeling’ would continue for one’s lifetime unless you met ‘The One.’ He documented that he met his ‘One’ back in the Mortal Realm. It was his first wife. The life of her first wife end and ‘Unfeeling’ came back.
He then created a paradise called Azure. Due to the genocide committing by the Holy Church, he had no choice but to save his mankind and transfer them to Azure. Nobody had found out its existence. Only then the terms Azure Realm’s Irah and Mortal Realm’s Mortals was created and known.
Since he didn’t want to imprison the Irahs in Azure, he let the ‘Door’ open for them to go in and out. But in fear that Azure would be invaded. With his great mind, he created the ‘Pill’. It’s a miracle pill that would make anyone who would say something about the existence of Azure lose their voice, hands, or even life.
It’s basically God’s judgment. A miracle invention provided to protect the Irahs. God’s compensation to the sudden mutation of humans.
Like Alfina, given that his ‘One’ already left the world without anyone left for him to take care of, he gave everything up to resolve his curiosity. It’s like he didn’t meet his ‘One’ at all. In the early stages, he felt like he should kill himself to be with her.
Unscientific but believable. But he was prevented and was overworked by the issue of Irahs. He felt responsible. By the time everything went stable, he went back to research. Yet the elders had another wish for him before he aged thoroughly and left the world.

That word triggered him. He felt like it was fine since his ‘One’ didn’t leave a child for him. But now, it’s his ‘duty’ to bear one. For the ‘Unfeeling’ it seems like children were still precious but the condition was that it has to be their own.
By then, Alfonso decided to try this ‘childbearing’. Women came to his place for a party. The purpose of the gathering was to make him pick one woman to bear his child. It’s doomed that the person Alfonso would pick was someone unique. But everyone still hoped to bear his child, for honor, for respect, for admiration, and for love.
All sorts of feelings were thrown to him, only to be disregarded by the person himself. But there’s one particular, awkward woman who caught his eyes. He knew that girl wasn’t his ‘One’ but somehow, he felt that this girl was interesting.
Afterward, the girl became his wife, the Queen. True enough that although the woman wasn’t his ‘One’ she was like his ‘friend’. They bore 3 kids. 2 boys and a girl. Just like the family of Alfina. Alfonso’s life was pretty satisfying as he and his wife get along well. Till the end of his life, he finished his last invention.
The Birth Savior.
It was a blessing for the Irahs as it was rare for everyone to conceive a child and limited to 2 or 4 children throughout their 200 years of life. It was painful to see the women broken and some even lose their minds completely when they lost their child. Especially the mortal wives of Irahs. They were more prone to psychological attacks.
Why?
They only have 100 years of life, 40-50 years of fertility. There’s a very short time for them to try conceiving a child for their beloved. Also, women prioritize bearing children or else its an insult to their identity as a woman. That’s how hard society was to them.
Due to the discovery of this medicine. Irahs had no more problem giving birth or even conceiving. The properties of this medicine could make the egg cells and semen to be fertile for a period. While when giving birth to the baby, it would help the mother had the strength and means to give birth normally that would be a huge benefit for the mother.
It was a common knowledge in Irahs that women tend to have fewer years to live the more they give birth. So after the discovery of this medicine, it was included in the Azure Rules, any women who wanted to give birth could only give birth up to 4 children.
Since Irahs was also a kind of human, polygamy was inevitable. It was allowed but limited to 3 people on either of the genders.
Speaking of humans, Alfonso’s Eldest son turns out to have a mortal gene. Though he inherited the ‘genius’ mindset of Alfonso, he was still asked by their mother if he wanted to move back to the Mortal Realm. He refused and asked to just let his little brother inherit the throne. He said that he would use his whole life for Azure Realm.
But greed cannot be ignored, the little princess was kidnapped by the Irah rebels. They moved her to one place that’s called the mortal enemy kingdom of the Empyrean Empire. They killed that little princess to earn their kingdom’s ‘freedom’. Their mother was swallowed by depression because of this loss.
Years later, the queen mother died. The Empyrean Empire weakened. A lot of self-proclaimed ‘countries’ came and little by little the faraway lands from the palace were taken by today’s countries. In order to stop the warring period, the genius eldest brother had to sacrifice himself.
The little brother was left. Dumbfounded at the several jars of cremated remains of his family. But due to his promise to his older brother, he had to stand up and revive the Empire. When the trusted elders were asked for their opinions, all they could think about was preserving the bloodline. In other words, having a lot of wives. To have a good grasp of the ‘countries’ and preserving the purity of blood for the next generation.
Therefore, the little brother married 3 wives in a political marriage. They were fine on the surface but because of the pressure given to these women, they couldn’t help but had a different attitude to the other women.
Until the fourth wife came in, the person chosen personally by their husband the king. The other 3 wives were envious as the fourth wife gave birth to 3 children and there was the incoming fourth child. The 3 wives couldn’t accept that they all equally had 1 but this fourth wife had more and continuously given children.
They planned to kill the unborn child and succeeded. As she miscarried the child, she lost herself. The early days when she had her rationality she found out about this plan. Due to a lack of evidence, their husband cannot just accuse his other wives. The fourth wife lost her way and killed all the three wives then killed herself too. Leaving the children of their beloved husband.
With this, the cremated vases increased again. Looking at those vases, the little brother just decided to let his children get along and be taught personally by him. He left with no regrets upon seeing the children taking the personality of him and somehow his mother’s personality too, the second wife of Alfonso.
After dying, he declared that only monogamous relationship shall be exercised within the Empyrean Royal Family. To respect the direct family of the founder, was officially buried in the grounds of Cloud Side. Alfonso, his second wife, their three children’s remains was buried in these grounds. Therefore everybody was treating this as a sacred land.
5 years after, in a peaceful day at Cloud Side, a knock could be heard form the door of a certain mansion…
