The Last Chance I Could Live - Chapter 13
Jeffrey’s body got stiff when he heard Eden’s voice.
He already thought about every possible reason he would say to Eden. However, when he turned his body, he saw Eden’s body still lying down on the sofa.
At that moment, Jeffrey’s heart finally calmed down and he breathed out.
“Just sleep, Eden. Why would you have to startle me?”
He then quickly went outside before Eden really woke up.
After he successfully went out, he decided to go to the hospital park.
He searched for a place with the least people and he found it in the northernmost garden.
This place was the most different from the other part of the hospital park. There was no bench nor flower. It was just full of bushes and a huge tree.
He didn’t know why there was such of a place like this. However, it was none of his business. Rather, he was lucky to know and find this place.
He went behind the bushes and started his new daily routine.
Thanks to the increase of his status, he shortened the time to complete the daily quest.
He started at 4 a.m and now…
[ Congratulations! You have completed the Daily Quest ]
[ Do you want to claim your rewards? ]
Jeffrey replied, “Yes.”
[ You successfully claimed the rewards of Daily Quest.
– 3 Points
– 5 EXP ]
Jeffrey nodded in satisfaction. He then asked Page, “Page, what time is it?”
“It is 8 a.m.”
Jeffrey decided to allocate the points later since his mother about to be wake up.
He then walked silently as he looked around the park.
Before, he couldn’t do any of this since, every year, his condition got worsened.
He couldn’t take a walk and only could look at the hospital behind his window.
Suddenly, he remembered that he still turned off his phone that was given by Ascalapus.
He wondered if that stupid god would spam his inbox, but he quickly denied that thought.
In the meantime, the blonde guy with his blue eyes threw a glance towards his phone every 5 minutes.
Ascalapus sat on the dining table anxiously while his puco served him lunch.
“Hey, puco from the cooking department, tell me. Why is Jeffrey still not replying to my messages?”
It’s been days since their last conversation. He worried that something has happened to Jeffrey, but since his system was still functioning, it means that Jeffrey was alright.
Still, how could he doesn’t even turn on his phone? Wasn’t he the one who asked about his contact?
“Oh, I think I know why is he doing that to me.”
The puco beside him quickly replied, “God, anything that you think, it must be wrong. Trust me.”
Ascalapus turned his head to the puco beside him and pouted, “Why would it be wrong? I’m the God, you know.”
“Still. Remember when you said that there was no chili in the dish for Finance Puco? It turned out that the dish had a lot of chilies. Not just that, do you remember when you thought that Athena’s beauty was fake? It turned out that your nose was bleeding from her beauty.”
“Well… That is true, but I didn’t mean to do that!”
Puco sighed as he remembered how the finance puco suffered from the chili sauce and replied to him, “Just don’t think and do anything, God. For the sake of humanity and your puco’s health.”
“Humph… Why are you ordering me around? I also don’t want to do anything, you know? Thinking about how this great holy god worried about a mere human. No way~”
Ascalapus became cranky then ate his dish silently. The puco beside him let out a silent sigh of relief.

Meanwhile, Jeffrey wanted to come out from the lift when he saw a lot of people surrounded one of the VIP rooms.
He frowned as he slowly came out from the lift. He approached a nurse in front of him and asked, “Sister, why are there so many people?”
The nurse turned to Jeffrey and was shocked as she looked at him. She was Molly Hartley, the one who bathed him before.
“Where have you been, Jeffrey? Your mother woke up and didn’t find you anywhere near her.”
“I just walked around the park. Where is she?”
“She was searching for you in every room on this floor. Probably, she was in the bathroom.”
Jeffrey nodded and asked, ” So, sister, who are they?”
“Ah… There is a new patient that came an hour ago but she is a little bit autistic. She didn’t talk and she went on a rampage.”
After sister Molly said that, a loud thud could be heard by them.
“You heard that? Looks like this hospital will be busy.”
He suddenly remembered there was a time from his first life when a dangerous patient came in. Because of that, he didn’t want to go outside even if it was a single step.
He heard that the patient always went on a rampage and destroyed anything.
However, he didn’t feel like that anymore. As his soul grew old from the repeated reincarnation, he was now curious about that patient.
Was that patient really dangerous as he heard or not?
Before he wanted to get closer, his mother’s voice called him, “Jeffrey!”
Jeffrey turned his head and looked at his mother as she drenched by sweat, the same as him.
She immediately hugged him and checked his body. Except for his drenched body, she didn’t find any weird thing from him.
She let out a sigh of relief and scolded her son.
“You stupid brat! Where do you think you could go without my permission?”
She smacked her son’s buttocks and angrily glared at him.
Instead of feeling sorry, the one who was being scolded just grinned and scratched his head.
“Hehe… I’m sorry mom. I saw a cat in the park and went to catch it. The cat is so cute.”
The reason Jeffrey gave was making sense. He said he tried to catch the cat and that was why his body was drenched by sweat.
Looking at her son’s smile, she could never keep her anger for long.
“Just don’t repeat it again, okay? Do you know how worried I am?”
Jeffrey nodded and smiled sweetly at his mother.
There was never who could defeat a smile from a cute boy.
He thought that they would walk together to their room, but instead, he saw his mother opened up her hands.
He tilted his head and asked, “What are you doing, mom?”
“What else? To carry you, hurry up.”
He was shocked. He already matured inside. How could he let someone even if that someone was his mother to carry him? It was embarrassing.
But still, in his first life, his mother rarely visited him and carry him like this. He awkwardly and slowly came closer to his mother.
Impatiently, Helen pulled Jeffrey to her embrace and picked him up.
“Why are you so long? Let’s hurry up to eat breakfast.”
Because she carried him at the front, she couldn’t see how red his son’s face.
‘Well, who cares? I am still three years old and that is not unusual,’ Jeffrey thought.
After that, they went back to their room and spent their time together.
While Jeffrey was happy with his mother, there was a child of the same age as Jeffrey cornered herself inside the unfamiliar room.
She cried silently as she muttered, “Daddy, I’m afraid…”
