The Last Chance I Could Live - Chapter 17
“Haah…” Jeffrey let out a tired sigh. “I want to quickly raise my level. I never went to school in my first life. So, I don’t want to miss it again.”
Jeffrey waited for Page’s reply, but she seemed like became a mute all of a sudden. She fell silent and he never knew what she might be thinking.
After a long time, Jeffrey suddenly heard Page’s voice. She said, “Master, I have contacted the creator and he agreed to give a mission if you turn on your phone.”
“Creator? Phone?” Jeffrey confused as he tried to remember what Page was saying. “You mean Ascalapus?”
“Yes, master.”
Jeffrey turned his head and saw a phone above the side table.
That phone made a lot of chaos before. Jeffrey almost couldn’t say anything to his mother. Before she went back, there was a time where his mother noticed the strange phone on his side table.
Jeffrey thought that the phone kind of a magical thing since it was from a God. However, her mother pointed her fingers to it and asked him about that phone.
Jeffrey couldn’t say something like he already died 3 times and now tried to live peacefully, far away from the ignorance of Ascalapus.
It was amazingly horrible. He couldn’t find a good reason to answer it.
Finally, he was forced to say, “That was not mine, mom. There was a nurse in here called sister Kayla. I think she left it in here before he suddenly disappeared.”
Luckily, when her mother went back to help his father, Kayla also went back to work. What a nice coincidence!
Jeffrey was sure, if his mother asked Kayla about it, she must not want to lie for him and he would be forced to spill the tea.
Well, it turned out well.
Jeffrey then picked the phone and turned it on.
Before he could even operate the phone, the phone immediately had an error and many notification sounds entered his phone.
It was all from Ascalapus.
Jeffrey frowned, “What the hell is wrong with this guy?”
He didn’t give a damn about the last messages since it was all a message about his condition.
He felt grateful for it though.
He opened up the message application and sent him a message.
Jeffrey: “How do you do?”
He thought since he just sent him a message after a few days, Ascalapus might also just ignored his message.
Yet, only in one minute, Jeffrey got his reply.
Ascalapus: “Oh, so this is the mere human who wanted my contact, but he was the one who didn’t contact me?”
Jeffrey: “It is not that I didn’t want to contact you. I just had a lot of things to do.”
Ascalapus: “Bullshit. I could watch what were you doing this few days with a new Earth Ball that I bought from Khronos!”
Jeffrey: “I didn’t lie… I work hard to finish the Daily Quest.”
Ascalapus: “Humph… I know that you had time to flirt with a little girl, you know? Please remember that you are an old man!”
Jeffrey: “What? Hey, my body is three years old, besides I wasn’t flirting. I was making a new friend!”
Jeffrey thought that somehow Ascalapus was like a jealousy wife, but he quickly brushed aside that thought.
Ascalapus: “Yeah yeah… So, what happened to you until Page also contacted me?”
Jeffrey: “I’m stuck in level one. I need to quicken my pace in leveling up.”
Ascalapus: “Well, that is a bad thing for you.”
Looking at his reply, Jeffrey then asked Page. “Page, are you sure this guy really wants to help us?”
Page said with her monotone voice, “Yes, master. He agreed before.”
Jeffrey then typed again on his phone.
Jeffrey: “Since you agree to Page to help me, then what should I do?”
Ascalapus: “Easy. Just do what I will give you in these three days and I’m sure you will level up.”
Jeffrey then said, “Somehow, I get bad feelings from this. Every time he said easy, there were no good things happen.”
The next day, Jeffrey woke up as usual at 4 a.m. He did his daily quest and completed it at 8 a.m.
However, there was a new notification before his eyes.
[ Abrupt Mission – Side Quest
Mission: raise your hands as high as possible while running in place.
Time: 1 hour
Requirement: in Southern Park

Jeffrey’s eyes twitched as he looked at the mission. At the same time, in the house of Ascalapus, Ascalapus laughed as hard as he could.
Beside him, Puco couldn’t do anything to help Jeffrey. Puco looked helplessly at the pitiful Jeffrey in Khronos’ ball.
“Hahaha…” Ascalapus wiped his tears as a result of his laugh. “He really is too cocky, right Puco? I mean, he asked too much for a mere human. Let me prank him as much as I want!”
Ascalapus then laughed for once more while Puco said in his head, ‘But he did that, because of you, God…”
These few days, Ascalapus’ mood like a rollercoaster. He always waited for Jeffrey’s reply, yet he never got it. While he was laughing happily, Jeffrey’s face turned red as he raised his hands while ran in his place.
The people who decided to take a walk in the morning laughed at him. It was a cute thing, watching a child do things like that.
“Page,” Jeffrey called Page as he couldn’t hold the embarrassment for any longer. “How many minutes more?”
Page answered, “One more minute, Master.”
“Damn it!”
Jeffrey wanted to hold once again, but he felt a pair of eyes looking at him.
He didn’t see any person nearby that looked at him like what he felt.
However, right now his priority was to complete the quest. He didn’t give a damn about who that person was.
“Thirty seconds to go, master.” Page reminded him.
After that, the time limit has finally over. Jeffrey fell down as he felt his jelly feet. This mission was especially difficult, not about the mission itself but about the requirements.
“Ascalapus, you son of a b*tch!”
He nearly died from embarrassment and he was pretty sure that Ascalapus enjoyed his time right now.
The new notification windows appeared before his eyes.

After he saw the rewards from the abrupt mission, he fell silent.
He said, “Well, maybe it was worth it.”
