The Last One Standing - Chapter 1 Prologue
“Is that all you got squirt?” Haminu said as she clashed her wooden sword against King’s, each strike sending out a wooden thud.
Haminu parried each swing King sent her way with relative ease, clearly not even trying her best, an obvious indication about the disparity of their strengths. King kept slashing away, each blow aimed for a vital area on Haminu’s body, but none of them managed to connect. The sparring match ended when King aimed for his opponents throat but missed and was kicked in the stomach, sending him flying backwards.
King skidded along the dirty ground before landing on his ass a few feet away. Blood seeped from the corner of his mouth and his sword was lying more than a couple of meters away, but he still rose to his feet, ready to keep on fighting.
“The winner of this match is Haminu Catchin.” An elderly man with silvery hair said, raising his hand in the direction of Haminu who was now approaching King with a smile on her face. “You may both stand to the side so the next match may begin.”
“Yes sensei,” They said before moving off the field and standing behind their teacher as two other fellow students walked up to take their place.
“You’ve gotten better King, I can tell that your technique is improving at an astonishing speed.” Haminu whispered, leaning over to speak into King’s ear. “How in the world are you doing it? I almost had to actually try, your moving so fast.”
“Don’t try to boost my spirits Haminu,” King said, a small smile on his face. “Everyone knows that as a level 3 Rookie, your the strongest person in this school besides the teacher. As a level zero, you could easily flatten me with a flick of your wrist. That and these leg weights are holding me down from trying any harder.”
He lifted up his pants legs to reveal a rather large metallic cuff with the number 50 locked around his leg. These were ankle weights, an item that wasnt very common in the city of Syphilia, one of the many cities that humans resided in these days. Ankle weights were said to have been used before The Uprising to increase one’s own speed and strength. However, they were rarely used after the human body evolved and the existence of Light Points came into play.
“Why dont you just have your mother take them off?” Haminu said as she tapped it with her foot. “Its basically useless as you can just gain the speed you need by releasing your Light Points.” She tapped the spot above her breasts. “You should focus on releasing the first one before worrying about things like training.”
“That may have worked for you but thats not what my mom thinks.” King said as he observed the match going on between two of his classmates. “Your possibly the strongest level 3 in the entire city of Syphilia, even capable of matching some of the other level 4s. My mom however thinks that if I hold off with releasing the first Light Point then after training my body to the limit, then I’ll be stronger then even a level 2 fighter. Thats her te novel, spanning thousands of chapters, something I’ll be working on long term so make sure you settle in as this will take the world by storm one day.
//Anyways, the next couple of chapters will be me laying a solid foundation about the city of Syphilia and other important information that will be necessary in the coming events planned out.
