The Last Survivor - Chapter 106
Sensing inward, Merlin did indeed find a foreign object. However, it was not a mana stone. On the right side of his chest, was an heart, which was not beating. It simply existed, carrying out to function, but taking up space.
While Merlin was confused at the existence of a second heart, he did not waste too much time on it, since none of his actions had any effect on it after some experimentation.
With the wall in place, Merlin went to raise the fighting strength of everyone in Cayden as soon as possible until the Beast Tide came. Since he had already culled a majority of animals and zombies in the area before they turned, or as soon as they turned into Tier 3s, he had bought Cayden around half an hour of extra time before the Tier 3s from the surrounding areas rush over to kill them in waves.
In this time, Merlin was hastily recovering his lost mana using the meditation technique and mana stone, while saving as many people as he could in order to reduce the time Phillip spent on saving people, and was able to convert that saved time into more combat puppets prepared for action.
…
On the other hand, In the planer void a little distance from right outside Earth’s dimension…
Two half-destroyed figured were floating in the void, unable to move nor speak. They were simply communicating using mental communication methods.
‘Hey, Shem, do you think it was a bad idea to mess with the minds of those weak humans?’
‘Of course Krog! What do you think! Not only will the system affect our status for a few years after we did that, but That mortal used such an attack and injured us so badly! What do you think!’
‘I mean, if we hadn’t done that to those mortals, than the system wouldn’t have affected our stats, and we could have easily deflected that attack right?’
‘Hmph! Naturally, it would be a piece of… incredibly hard mithril….’
The two of them remained silent for a long time after coming to the realisation that Merlin’s attack could have seriously harmed them even if they were at their full strength.
‘Damn it! Just how did that mortal get such a spell? An insanely powerful mana bomb gathered from slaughtering? What kind of nonsensical sh*t was that?’
Just as the two self-proclaimed ‘gods’ were beginning to bicker about what that mortal named Merlin was, a new creature appeared in the void behind them.
“Tch- Shem, Krog, how long had it been since I have seen you in this situation? Never! Cause you’ll just chicken out at the slightest sign of danger and never leave your posts, just toying with the mortals and having your status’ being suppressed continuously.” Spoke the hoarse voice.
Turning around, Shem and Krog saw a large figure, as large as the two of them combined. It had three heads and 7 arms. Realising who it was, the two struggled to open their mouths and spoke at the same time.
“Sir Asura!”
“Tch-Tch, So tell me now, what exactly happened. You emergency message was too short.”
“Sir! We were just…”
…
While the two gods were snitching on Merlin, Merlin himself was completely oblivious, and was butchering Monsters and zombies, naturally, since he had already reached the peak, he was not actively seeking them, but killing any in range of Cayden.
Instead he had had Phillip explain the situation to the newly awakened Tier 3s and the surviving Tier 2s, and had them actively search for Tiers 3s and 2s in order to level up. He himself simply took up the role of protecting their homes while they went out to loot the homes of the monsters and zombies.
