The Last Survivor - Chapter 117
Time flew by, and the dwarves simply observed him. After some more time, Cortana decided it would be better to come into contact with the ‘dwarves’, to prevent them from taking action against her Lord.
Although he did not have a body with combat ability, Merlin had plenty of other equipment, including a speaker.
Using some mana she had collected over time, she flung the object off of Merlin and made it land between Merlin and the ‘dwarves’, frightening them in the process.
“Hello, can you hear me?”
“It speaks!”
“It speaks dwarven!?”
Cortana was also chocked at first that she could understand their language, but soon remembered that Merlin had transferred all the languages he had learned from his skill to Phillip’s database, which was also used by all the other Hokori.
“Yes.” Said Cortana. “I am the humble servant of my lord over there.”
“Hmm” The older ‘dwarf’ nodded as though everything made sense, but then looked strangely at the item on the ground. Before he could dismantle the speaker, Cortana spoke up.
“I am not this machine. I am a being using the machine as a medium to communicate with you. Also, destroying this machine will not only result in me being unable to communicate with you, but will also cause my master to get angry as destroying the one machine he carries everywhere to listen to music.”
“Alright. Although a lot of the stuff you spoke was nonsense, I get the gist of it. You fool! Don’t touch that thing. Got it?”
“Why?”
“Is it important?”
“Lemme touch it and check”
“Fools!” the older ‘Dwarf’ made the ground under the three others shirt, causing them to fall off balance. Naturally, Cortana recorded this new form of spell casting intending on showing it to Merlin later on.
“I am sorry, but is it possible for you to wait until my master completes?”
“Naturally. We dwarves are very patient beings.”
Time passed in awkward silence besides the sound of footsteps from the smaller dwarves, and the sound of earth being manipulated by Merlin.
The older dwarf, who had long grey hear and an extremely long grey beard, just sat in his place patiently waiting.
An hour, two hours, 10 hours, a day, four days, and finally, 6 days passed by before Merlin finally sighed and stopped making the dragon figure.
The figure itself began emanating a radiance which was interacting with the very laws of the plane. Naturally, it was so inferior compared to the laws of the plane themselves, that Merlin, a Tier 4 being, could comprehend this law.
Looking at the notification, Merlin sighed in confusion.
=================
You, what are you doing? You need to wait till you reach Tier 5, and absorb the origin force from planes to learn their laws. What are you doing?!!

However, Merlin decided it was for the best that he was distancing himself from Arcania and that ‘Master.’
No one liked being the puppet of some higher being, especially when he came to know that such a being truly existed, unlike the brief sense of crisis when thinking about how some possibly existent ‘god’ was controlling everyone’s fates.
Merlin belatedly realised that he had visitors, and raised his guard while activating sense to gauge the power of the beings present.
‘3 peak Tier 3s, and a Tier 4, Lv 4.’
‘They will most likely be able to defeat me if I engage now. I should talk out their reason for being here instead.’
Merlin thought to himself as he looked over at the one large and old dwarf, and the three smaller, young dwarves and spoke as he was receiving the memories from Cortana.
“Thank you for taking care of me while I was pre-occupied. But who might you be?”
Merlin had decided to mind his manners for the time being, since it seemed like this species of dwarves had built an entire civilisation underground, and more could be coming. Some maybe equally as strong as the old dwarf in front of him.
