|Chapter Title: (Prologue) – In a Parallel World that I’ve Longed For (3)|
—
I woke up with sweat pouring down my face even if it’s extremely cold, the temperature dropped once more since I’m at the northern border. I slowly sat up and prepare myself to stand, I need to get out of here as soon as possible or beasts will devour me. It’s good that this body needs less food intake since it’s a body of a martial art practitioner, thus I don’t need to look for food I just need to conserve my energy.
The Northern territories is known as the most dangerous part of the kingdom at nighttime. It was foretold that the territories near the silk road area is where supernatural creatures and beasts exchange goods for different types of transactions, even high practitioner assassins never dwell freely in this area, the area was also renowned as the modern black market. With much strength I stood up and started walking, relaying on the ability of my sharp senses to see and feel in the dark.
Following the sound of water, blue wisps suddenly appeared in front of me, mystically lighting a path for me to follow. I curiously followed, but I never let my guard down, I haven’t been here so how would I know the dangers that I’ll be facing at the end of this rough trail. For an enough amount of time I ended up in a lake inside the cave. The wisps disappeared, but a hole from the highest peak of the cave let the moon’s light shine down. Light bends down the water at the middle of this cave. Like telling me to dive in the water.
There are many ways of me dying when I dive, without knowing what’s inside. Or it could also be a way to find the exit when I swim. But since this is an ancient era, this could also mean that the water could be an illusion.
Which should weigh more?
What path should I choose to believe in?
Should I dive?
Or should I climb up?
Without further thinking, something pushed me forward, so I fell in the water. It was too deep, the only option I have is to swim back to the ground where I stood a while ago. I tried to swim back, but the water was put into chaos, it’s like there are different creatures bathing with me. I hurriedly swim back, but it feels like I’m only wasting energy. I was stuck at the middle of the lake inside the cave. Out of my expectations, something grabbed my foot and it is pulling me down like I’m trapped in a magnetic field. I tried resisting but it was impossible, my body was dragged further down. Making me hold a handful of air and dive down.
Blue creatures that looks like jellyfish swam in the lake with me. It feels like they are leading me to a way out, so I followed them. The bloody coloured vines that was entangled on my foot loosened, making it easier for me to swim. I swam further down, till I saw a golden coloured cage.
I swam till I got inside the cage.
There was a blue coloured dragon statue. It was so mystical, and its scales looked so real. I touched the dragon, but I wounded myself. Its mouth suddenly opened, revealing an ancient ring that should have belonged to someone else before. It was a meteorite made ring that was as hard as a divine sword, but it was decorated with a blue crystal at the middle and nine little crystal balls at the sides. I slowly pull the ring out of the dragon’s mouth. The moon’s rays illuminated down giving it a more mystical appearance. A voice spoke in my head, telling me to wear it, and so I followed.
But there was more to it!
The floor of the cage opened and revealed a staircase, I swim down. The path I’m taking was lighted with torches… torches with blue flames that’s not affected by the water of the lake. I hurriedly swim down, and when I reach the bottom I saw another dragon statue, but this time it looks more realistic than the other statue at the entrance. Its size can be comparable to a real ice dragon that I once saw in an ancient scripture. And my gut tells me that it’s only sleeping.
On the floor there was a big rock. I swam near the rock, it was covered with ancient texts that I can’t possibly read. I only saw familiar treasure signs that I commonly use to dig up gold from modern caves in my past life. At the middle there was a little hole and I wonder if that’s the same as opening something that needs a key. I sat down in front of the rock, well it’s more of something similar to a rock made coffin, but its size isn’t as long as a human’s coffin. I put my hand on the covering of the coffin, suddenly I remembered that it’s been awhile since I breathe some air, does it mean that I can breathe underwater?
I stared at the ring on my middle finger.
I wonder how powerful this ring could be…
An idea appeared in my mind.
The crystal’s structure looks identical to the hole at the middle of this coffin.
Could it be…?
It could be!
I stood up and inserted the ring’s crystal on the hole.
Blue flames appeared on the cover of the coffin, igniting every pattern that was designed there.
Smoke fused from the coffin, then an explosion occured, which sent my body a few metres back.
When everything was settled, I went to observe the coffin, feeling its covers being lifted. So I then traced the patterns and pushed the rock at the topmost part.
It was too heavy.
I pushed and pushed till the everything was uncovered, and that’s the time wherein I saw the sword of the Ice Dragon, that my father and I have been looking for.
Who would have thought that it’ll be here?
