The Legendary Pseudo-villain - Chapter 179
“With a twin in the picture, even if you were to be killed, your twin could always take your place and nobody would ever know,” The man spoke with a smirk as he explained, “And there is also a possibility that the one who kills you might just be your power-hungry twin.”
Hecathe’s lips twitched as he heard this and he was clearly not amused to know this.
“That’s some sort of a sick joke, isn’t it?” Hecathe clicked his tongue as he questioned.
“But it’s not a joke,” The man stated as he tilted his head, “Why else do you think there was such a ridiculous rule?”
The three willows of spring were clearly power-hungry manipulators who didn’t care for anyone but themselves. The only reason why they were in power was also because of a lot of blood-shed and conflict. With all this considered, it shouldn’t have been hard to believe that they would go as far as to make such a rule, however, somehow Hecathe was still a bit shocked and disgusted.
To love power more than one’s own blood…? It was truly a bit disgusting for Hecathe..
“I guess I answered all your questions with that?” The man asked politely.
“There are still two questions left,” Hecathe responded with a sigh.
“What are they?”
“First question: Who sold you this house?”
The man smiled as he heard this and didn’t hesitate to answer, “Dorka’s sister. After both her brother’s passed away, the house was under her name and she wasn’t a person who enjoyed secondhand things.”
“So she simply sold it away…?”
“What else was she supposed to do with it?” The man asked with a scoff, “Was she supposed to build a barn and raise a few cattle in it…?!”
“…”
“What’s your next question?” The man clicked his tongue as he asked, “You said there were two, didn’t you?”
Hecathe nodded his head as he spoke, “Second question: What is your name? And by name, I mean your real name.”
“My name” The man repeated with a small chuckle, “So you finally have time to ask such crucial details?”
Hecathe pursed his lips into a thin line and didn’t bother responding to this as he simply waited for the man to answer the question.
“You can just call me… Psion.”
“Is that your real name?” Hecathe raised his eyebrows.
“So what if it is and what if it’s not?” The man tilted his head as he asked back.
Hecathe opened his mouth to say something but in the blink of an eye, he was already thrown out of the house along with LeiLei and Marvin who lay unconscious on the ground.
Hecathe closed his mouth as he gulped the words back down and sighed as he looked down at the other two.
“You two gonna wake up anytime soon or should I just leave you behind?” Hecathe asked but it was only natural that he didn’t get a response from the two unconscious teenagers.
“Hmm,” Hecathe hummed as he waited for a minute before concluding, “Good choice. I’ll head over to the guild first.”
Hecathe didn’t hesitate to turn around as he steadily walked away from the place.
Since the man called Psion had already thrown them out, it was clear that there was going to be no further discussion with that man today.
“You bastard, don’t just leave us on the ground,” Marvin clicked his tongue as he spoke in his groggy voice.
The boy slowly woke up and came to his senses as he looked around in confusion.
LeiLei also seemed to have woke up with this.
“I’ll wait for exactly a minute,” Hecathe stopped walking as he looked down at his watch and spoke.
“Why are you in such a hurry?” LeiLei frowned as she questioned, “Don’t we still need to go inside that old house?”
Hecathe felt his muscles tense up as he heard this and he turned around to look at LeiLei as he questioned, “You don’t remember anything?”
LeiLei and Marvin looked at each other in confusion before they turned to Hecathe and shook their heads.
“Is there something we must be remembering…?” Marvin asked in confusion as he tilted his head.
Hecathe gulped as he heard this and glanced back up at the old mansion that stood behind the two.
The wall that had previously been broken by Marvin somehow fixed itself and Hecathe would have almost been willing to believe that he had been simply dreaming if it weren’t for Psion waving at him with a wicked smile as he stood behind the window.
“That creepy psycho has quite a bit of magic tricks snuck up his sleeves,” Hecathe muttered under his breath.
“Hecathe, what’s wrong?” Marvin asked as he walked up to the man.
“You were both being controlled,” Hecathe sighed as he turned around again and continued walking, “And your one minute is up.”
LeiLei and Marvin were not only left confused but now that they had heard this, they were also left stunned.
“Excuse me… What…?!” LeiLei reacted strongly as soon as the shock had sunk in and the girl ran after Hecathe as she anticipated an explanation.
“Was there anything hard to understand about that?” Hecathe clicked his tongue as he asked but didn’t bother waiting around for a response from the girl as he continued and explained, “Just like how he controlled you and made you hallucinate, this time he controlled you and made you do things.”
LeiLei frowned as she heard this and asked a bit hesitantly, “What type of things…?”
“You made herbal tea for him and Marvin made a cup of coffee for me,” Hecathe responded with a small chuckle as he honestly answered.
“…” LeiLei came to a stop as she heard this and she was clearly not the only one who looked to be both shocked and horrified.
“I made a… What now?!” Marvin questioned in disbelief as he raised his voice slightly.
“Oddly enough, you have a talent in making coffee,” Hecathe teased the boy and laughed at him.
“Sir, you have got to be kidding me,” LeiLei muttered as she refused to believe it, “I made herbal tea for someone… And they weren’t poisoned with it…?!”
“…”
It seemed that LeiLei was well aware of her cooking skills and Hecathe didn’t know if he was supposed to laugh about this or not.
“Who the hell was he?!” Marvin gulped as he questioned.
“Psion,” Hecathe gave a simple response, “That’s what he claims his name to be.”
“Psion?” Marvin and LeiLei repeated in unison and it could be seen that neither of the two recognized the name.
“Is it his real name?” LeiLei questioned.
“Who knows?” Hecathe shrugged his shoulders as he casually responded, “It doesn’t really matter cause this was the only name that he was willing to give out.”
“What about information?” Marvin asked impatiently as he leaned in closer, “Did he tell you anything about LeiLei’s parents?”
Hecathe stopped walking as he heard this and his eyes narrowed down on LeiLei with an indecipherable expression plastered on his face.
“What is it?” LeiLei retreated a few steps cautiously as she saw the man’s reaction, “Is there something wrong?”
Hecathe sighed as he shook his head and spoke, “He told me about your parents.”
LeiLei’s eyes widened as she heard this and a mixture of feelings could be seen flashing on her face.
“Was it really not that willow of spring?” Marvin blinked innocently as he questioned and it looked like the boy still found it hard to believe that LeiLei was not related to that man.
Hecathe shook his head once again as he denied this and spoke, “It’s not him, but it is somehow related to him.”
“Eh…?”
“This is not the right place to talk,” Hecathe commented as he glanced around, “Even the walls might have ears.”
LeiLei pursed her lips into a thin line as she heard this and when the girl looked around, she could indeed see a few people walking, but none of them seemed to be interested in this small group of three.
“Then let’s go to the guild,” Marvin nodded in understanding as he spoke and LeiLei immediately snapped her fingers and teleported them to the entrance of the guild.
Hecathe was a bit surprised to see such a fast reaction from LeiLei who would usually not act on her own.
The three entered the guild and went straight for Kelly’s office, however, instead of greeting Kelly, LeiLei threw the woman out and claimed the office for a while.
“Speak,” LeiLei demanded as she glared at Hecathe and Hecathe could see the desperation in the girl’s eyes.
“Your father had a twin brother, did you know about it?” Instead of narrating all the details of the conversation he had with Psion or giving a clear-cut explanation to the girl, Hecathe decided to start with a question instead.
“A twin brother…?” Marvin repeated with a bit of surprise as he immediately snapped his head towards LeiLei and looked at the girl for a confirmation.
LeiLei’s eyes immediately widened as she heard this question and the girl was clearly feeling a little uneasy, however, she still nodded her head as she responded, “I know about that.”
