The Legendary Pseudo-villain - Chapter 184
“We’ll need to break the barrier somehow,” Hecathe spoke as he responded, “Just a small opening in it would be more than enough to let the mutants infiltrate this place.”
The illusion barrier was not created in a day or two and the ones who had created it are probably not even alive anymore.
To break something that had been in existence for so long… It was certainly not going to be easy.
“It’s impossible for a human to break it,” Hecathe sighed as he spoke and the Dorgon seemed to have understood the deeper meaning behind his words..
“You want me to break it, don’t you?” The Dorgon asked in disbelief and Hecathe simply smiled as he nodded his head enthusiastically.
“You’re the only one that can do it,” Hecathe commented as he looked at the Dorgon expectantly.
The Dorgon sighed as he shook his head, “I don’t like this idea but I’ll help you since you saved this emperor’s life.”
Hecathe smiled as he heard this and nodded his head in satisfaction as he spoke, “I knew it was a good idea to save you.”
“That’s probably the only reason that is stopping me from killing you,” The Dorgon responded with a sigh and Hecathe chuckled as he heard this.
Thankfully enough, Dorgons were not as heartless as everyone considered them to be. They were creatures that were honest to their feelings and would always repay someone who helped them.
That night, Hecathe slept at the empty abandoned building with the mutants keeping a watch for him and the Dorgon left to patrol the outskirts of the city.
In order to open a small hole in the barrier, he first needed to find an area that had the least amount of guards stationed around.
Because of the recent mutant attack that was caused by Hecathe, the guards stationed around had increased and it was quite difficult to find a weak spot anymore.
However, after flying in circles for twenty minutes or so, the Dorgon was finally able to find a place that looked to be a little less guarded.
The Dorgon landed on the ground and the three guards that were stationed at the place immediately got stunned by the presence of the creature.
“Don’t take this personal,” The Dorgon spoke even though he knew that the men could not hear him.
In the very next minute, without even letting the guards get a chance to react, The Dorgon opened his mouth and smoke started coming out.
When the three guards took in the smoke, they immediately passed out and the Dorgon inhaled back all the smoke.
Now that he had immobilized the guards, the next step was to make a hole in the barrier.
This was going to be a bit tricky considering the fact that it was the first time the Dorgon was trying something like this.
But since he was inside the barrier and not outside it, things became a bit easier.
The Dorgon first tried to attack the barrier with fire but when that didn’t seem to work, he tried to attack it with ice, however, that method also failed.
The barrier would certainly open up for a few seconds if he attacked it fiercely, however, the barrier would also heal itself just as soon and it was nothing more than a waste of the Dorgon’s energy.
“I’m not even getting paid for this,” The Dorgon sighed as he commented to himself and tried to come up with a different method.
Perhaps breaking the barrier completely was much easier than making a hole in it since, in order to break it, he would just need to find the powering object of the barrier and break it.
Even Hecathe might not have been able to make a hole in this barrier
At this point, the Dorgon wondered if there was another way of making a gap without breaking the barrier.
The creature looked around helplessly and suddenly, an Idea seemed to have struck his mind.
A hole without a barrier… A rabbit hole!
At the end of the day, this hole was needed to let the mutants enter and those disgusting creatures only needed a hole as small as a rabbit hole in order to crawl in here.
With this sudden idea in mind, the Dorgon took a deep breath in and transformed itself into a small rabbit.
A transformation took a lot of energy and the Dorgon preferred to avoid it most of the time but at the moment, he felt like this was the fastest method.
As a rabbit, the disguised Dorgon began digging a deep hole in the ground that went a bit deeper than a normal rabbit hole.
He did this simply for a sense of security.
As long as it was deep enough, it would also be secure enough and could not be easily covered up once again.
After successfully creating a hole through the ground, the rabbit went back to the building where Hecathe was and transformed back into a Dorgon.
The Dorgon seemed to be excited to tell Hecathe the good news but when the creature saw the man sleeping, he felt like he shouldn’t be disturbing him, and hence he decided to explore the city a bit.
Dorgons were really mysterious and amazing creatures that retained the memories of their previous life. This was one of the reasons why they were so knowledgeable since their birth.
This particular Dorgon had once come to the ancient Zeblor a long long time ago and since then, he had never got another chance to explore the newly built Zeblor.
The last memory he had of the place took place approximately two hundred years ago and that was clearly quite a long time ago.
With a sigh, the Dorgon transformed himself into a human. To be more exact, he transformed himself into a kid who was barely two feet in height.
He borrowed Hecathe’s cape for some time and transformed it into a clothing article that could be worn by him since humans really liked to cloth themselves.
As a little human child, the Dorgon went out and ventured towards the bustling main part of the city.
The first place the Dorgon decided to visit was, expectedly, a restaurant.
He pushed the door open with a wide smile on his face and walked inside the restaurant as if he owned the place.
“I would like you to serve me your finest dish with a lot of meat!” He announced enthusiastically as if he were giving an order to the workers there.
A kind waitress walked over to the little kid and chuckled as she crouched down to reach his level, “Are you lost, child?”
When the waitress looked at the clothes worn by the child, she could see that although the design was a bit weird, the fabric used was pretty expensive and rare, so she concluded that he must be some rich man’s son who ran away from home and got lost.
“I’m here for the food. You should be the one getting lost,” The Dorgon responded as he clicked his tongue in annoyance and the waitress chuckled as she found him cute for having such a big personality.
“I see. You must be really hungry,” The waitress beamed, “Why don’t we get you some food and wait for your parents to come and pick you up?”
“Tch- If my parents come here, you might have to say goodbye to your little establishment.”
“…”
The woman started to rethink her decision of considering the child ‘cute’.
This child didn’t have a big personality, he just had a rude and bratty personality!
“Then do you have any money to buy food?” The woman asked with a thin smile as she stopped being extra polite to the child.
“Money?” The Dorgon repeated as he tilted his head in confusion.
“Well, Yes. If you want to eat the food here, you’ll need to pay for it as well.”
“I see,” The Dorgon nodded in understanding before he spoke, “I have enough money to buy this entire restaurant so you don’t need to worry about that.”
The waitress looked to be a little surprised as she heard this and in normal conditions, she would probably recheck whether the child really had the money or not but since this child was having such a big confidence and ego, the woman concluded that there was probably no need to recheck with him.
In the worst-case scenario, if he didn’t have money, she could always contact his parents and make them pay.
“Then please follow me,” The waitress smiled as she lead the way to an empty table and took his orders.
“This is the menu. You can order anything on it,” The waitress explained as she handed the menu over to the child.
“Don’t bother me with such things,” The Dorgon took a sharp breath in as he threw the menu away, “Get me your best dish with a lot of meat. Don’t forget to put in a variety of meat and I prefer to eat it raw.”
“…”
