The Legendary Pseudo-villain - Chapter 188
“Not everyone in this room may agree with my plan and that is perfectly okay. Which is why I’ll give you time to think about it before you agree,” Hecathe continued with a sigh, “I’ll be leading a new rebellion.”
No one know who had gulped but the room was silent enough to even make such a sound audible to everyone.
“A rebellion…?” One of the Generals muttered in disbelief as his eyes narrowed down on Hecathe with suspicion.
Hecathe didn’t waver at all as he confidently nodded his head and confirmed it, “A rebellion against the three willows of spring.”
“Why so suddenly?” Since no one was asking this question, the little Dorgon took it upon himself to loudly question.
Hecathe, “Because the three willows of spring killed my father’s old friend..”
The Generals were once again shocked to hear this as they looked around in confusion.
“And they planned on convicting me for that murder,” Hecathe added and it was now clear who the so-called friend was.
“Orgon?” One of the Generals gathered the courage to question, “Was killed by them?”
Hecathe smiled thinly as he nodded his head and clenched his hands into a fist, “Killing him is not the reason for this rebellion. I am simply trying to give them what they asked for when they decided to mess with me.”
Just as expected, there was suddenly an awkward atmosphere in the room as not everyone dared to blindly agree and follow Hecathe.
“W-we don’t have proof, do we?” The general who had previously broken into a fit of tears questioned as he looked at Hecathe with worry.
“When we have the killer at hand, is that not proof enough?” Hecathe tilted his head and asked with a smirk but didn’t wait for a response as he continued, “Did they ask for proof before they decided to put an execution order on my head?”
“That’s because they are shameless! We can’t be like them,” Another general spoke up as he gritted his teeth, “If the Captain is sure that they were the ones behind it then we will definitely believe you, but if you want to start a rebellion over this then we will definitely need proof to convict them.”
Hecathe nodded his head as he agreed with the man completely, “You’re right. If I don’t give proof, I’ll just end up becoming the bad guy once again. However, you guys don’t need to concern yourselves over this. I’ll make sure that the killer confesses with his own mouth.”
“You… Have a plan?” It was Xanie who spoke up as she questioned with a frown.
“I would have naturally not asked you all to come here if I didn’t have a plan.”
“What’s the plan?” Another General asked as he curiously looked at Hecathe.
Hecathe chuckled dryly as he heard this and shook his head as he held up a finger against his lips, “I may not be able to say it out loud just yet.”
“…”
One would think that nobody would dare join him when they weren’t even aware of the plan, however, that was exactly what had happened.
“I ask you to join me if you are willing to trust me and if there is even the slightest bit of doubt in your heart then I would not be forcing you,” Hecathe spoke as he acted reasonable and kind.
Xanie was the first to sigh as she raised her hand and spoke, “I’ll join you, Captain.”
Hecathe smiled as he saw this and felt as if this was to be expected.
Xanie had been always blindly supported Alphius so it was only natural that she would be willing to do the same now as well.
“However, this is the last time,” Xanie added and Hecathe was immediately a bit stunned and confused as he wondered if he had heard it right or not.
The other generals also looked to be shocked as they immediately turned to look at her for an explanation.
“I have decided,” Xanie sighed as she spoke up, “I want to live.”
“Eh?” Hecathe tilted his head in confusion as he heard this.
“As you all know, I wasn’t always a mecha-suit. I used to be just a mage with an average ability. My brother was the one who had no abilities and I stayed here till now because I wanted to repay my debt to the Captain for saving my brother’s life.”
Hecathe’s eyebrows furrowed together as he heard this and he certainly did remember the girl mentioning something about her brother.
“And I feel like I would have already achieved that after this,” Xanie continued as she spoke seriously, “After I help you with this, I would have repaid that debt to you, Captain.”
Hecathe gulped as he heard this and pursed his lips together as he nodded in understanding.
“What do you plan on doing afterward?” Hecathe asked with a warm smile.
“I’ll go look for my brother,” Xanie spoke as she also smiled, “It’s been a long time since he had run away from home. I guess it’s time to bring that brat back.”
“I see…” Hecathe nodded his head with a sigh, “That sounds good. I’ll wish you all the best.”
“Thank you, Captain,” Xanie looked to be sincere as she looked down on the ground and spoke.
“I-In that case, I’ll also join you, Captain!” It was the crying general who stuttered as he spoke up, “It doesn’t matter what plan you have in mind, as long as you’re the one leading us, I can rest assured.”
Hecathe smiled as he heard this and nodded his head in satisfaction.
Some more people started raising their hands as they agreed to join Hecathe’s plan and this was to be expected considering the fact that they were all very loyal to Alphius.
However, soon enough, Hecathe could see that not everyone was as willing.
“Captain, I have a question,” One of the generals spoke up and he looked to be in his thirties.
“What is it?” Hecathe tilted his head innocently as he asked.
“A few days ago, one of our men was attacked.”
Hecathe gulped as he heard this and for reason, he already felt as if he knew what this was about.
“When he came back to report to us, he told us that you were in Zeblor, but…” The man took a sharp breath in as he closed his eyes and spoke through his gritted teeth, “He also said that the one who attacked him was supposed to be the great Orgon.”
Hecathe acted as if he was a bit surprised to hear this, “He was attacked by… Orgon?”
The General nodded his head as he confirmed it and continued, “He said that Orgon was not alone. He was together with his son, Marvin and there was another young girl accompanying those two.”
Hecathe frowned as he heard this and if someone were to look at him at the moment, they would certainly not be able to tell that he was supposed to be this so-called Orgon from the story.
“I won’t lie to you,” Hecathe spoke as he lied, “I had already heard about this.”
The General who had asked the question immediately frowned as he heard this and looked to be shocked as he waited for Hecathe to speak further.
“There is a rumor that the great Orgon is still alive but,” Hecathe sighed as he acted a bit dramatic and spoke, “It’s more than just a rumor. It seems that he was somehow able to take the body of a young man after his death.”
The room was suddenly silent and the temperature also dropped a few celsius as Hecathe spoke.
“Actually it might have been a setup since the beginning itself,” Hecathe continued as he seriously spoke and it looked like Xanie was the only one who was not shocked to hear this since she had already heard about all of this through Hecathe’s QMS.
Hecathe and Xanie were not supposed to be in contact when Hecathe ran away and hence, she could not say anything to the others since they might get suspicious.
Her being able to convince them to come here alone was quite a hard and tricky job for her to do. Even though there were some things that Hecathe had asked her to tell the others, she had not said much simply because she didn’t want to arouse suspicion.
“The three willows of spring have planned everything thoroughly. First, they killed Orgon and made it seem as if I was the culprit and then they made prior plans to let Orgon come back in another body. The new Orgon is in Ocasia under the orders of the three willows and he plans to secretly take the city.”
Some of the generals secretly glanced at Xanie as they heard this. Xanie had something about this but it was vague and since she hadn’t clearly defined her source of information, everyone had taken her words as nothing more than a silly misunderstanding.
“This is why the rebellion is necessary,” Hecathe spoke with a sigh, “The damned three willows were the first ones to go against me. Their greed is never-ending and I plan to make their greed eat them alive.”
