The Legendary Pseudo-villain - Chapter 201
“You killed a hero that trusted you,” Marvin snapped his eyes open and suddenly, his eyes seemed to be glowing with a golden white blinding light.
“I am not like him. I am not capable of the forgiveness and mercy that he showed.”
Darius gulped as he heard this and for the first time in his life, he felt intimidated.
He had really been wrong in comparing the father and son.
Marvin was clearly not like his father.
He was much stronger than the great Orgon…
“I am going to kill you!”
At this moment, Darius realized that the only way he could win against this boy was if he seized the opportunity to attack first, and so, he lifted his fist and tried to punch the boy once again, however, this time, his punch did not land, in fact, it went right through the boy’s body.
Darius’ eyes widened as he got shocked at the sudden turn of events.
“Do not underestimate me!” Marvin shouted as he lifted his double-bladed saber and in a hacking manner, struck down at the man.
Darius was too close to avoid the saber so his body reacted on its own and he lifted his arms to cover his head, however, it seemed that the saber was much more powerful than before.
The piece of armor around his arm completely shattered into bits and he felt a numbing sense of pain climbing up his arms. It was truly a bit of a surprise to see just how powerful that attack was but what was more shocking was perhaps the fact that even the ground around Darius’ feet had been cracked as it absorbed the indirect blow.
“You think you can get rid of me just like how you did with him…?! Don’t joke around!” Marvin’s eyes had a crazed look in them as they shone.
Before Darius could properly think of a way to retaliate, Marvin had already lifted his saber and this time, he tried to seriously cut off the man’s head.
However, luckily enough, Darius had somehow managed to duck his head down on time.
“It doesn’t matter who you are! I’ll torture and kill you till I am satisfied with it! That is how I plan to avenge my father’s death!”
Suddenly, Marvin’s whole body started letting out a soft golden glow, almost making him look as if he was a celestial being that did not belong to this world.
Darius gulped as he tried to kick the man away but his leg went right through Marvin’s body.
Marvin was finally using his special ability that he had never bothered using before this. Even his father had never been able to use this ability that was almost like the world’s most perfect armor.
Marvin had named this ability as the wrath of the celestial angel and looking at how powerful it was, it seemed that the name truly matched the ability well.
While using the wrath of the celestial angel, Marvin’s body would become akin to that of an untouchable being that could be seen and felt but not touched.
In this form, it didn’t matter who it was that attacked him since no attacks were ever going to land.
However, just like any other ability, this ability also had a drawback and it was perhaps the limited time that it could be used for.
If Marvin could use the ability to beat this man in the next ten minutes, he was going to win this fight, however, if he were not able to win during the given time period, he would pass out from exhaustion and be defeated.
In actual war, this ability was no better than just a bluff. In fact, even in fights where you’d only be faced with a single opponent, using this ability was quite risky and hence Marvin had always preferred to put it off as his very last option in desperate situations.
So the mere fact that he had resorted to using such an ability meant that he was truly looking to kill this man today.
“W-wait!” Darius finally started coming back to his senses and as soon as he realized the disadvantage he was in, he tried to save himself, “What about the Asgarian…? What about Lara…? If you waste your time with me, would they not run away?”
Marvin’s eyebrows creased together and his lips twitched as he heard this, however, Darius didn’t care about the disgusted expression on the boy’s face as he continued.
“You say I killed your father but if you look at it closely, wasn’t I also just a pawn that was used in someone else’s plan? Your true enemy is not me! It is the one who planned everything!”
In the very next moment, shockingly enough, Marvin let out a mocking laugh as he said nothing.
The boy lifted his double-bladed saber and rotated it above his head as if it were a fan.
“Y-you’re really going to regret it!” Darius faltered a step back as cold sweat started rolling down his forehead.
“Don’t spout nonsense,” Marvin spoke firmly with a smirk, “Do you really think they are going to survive? I’m just sending you to hell first. Your friends are going to follow you soon after. I’ll make sure of that.”
Darius gulped as he heard this and as a pathetic act of self-defense, he picked up one of the three thrones and threw it at Marvin.
Shockingly enough, the chair didn’t hit him but it didn’t pass through his body either. It simply turned into smoke as soon as it got near Marvin.
Darius somehow managed to catch a sight of the formation above Marvin’s head and he couldn’t help but feel a little stunned.
This boy was not just spinning the sword above his head for the sake of intimidating his opponent. He was making a formation using the incantation method.
Normal ability users were not skilled enough to use incantations. In fact, the only people who knew how to use incantations were perhaps the old three willows of spring who were already long dead.
Hence, it was no wonder that the formation made by the boy had managed to leave Darius both amazed and horrified at the same time.
“H-How the hell did you…” Darius stuttered as he found it hard to complete that question.
“I have no reason to be telling you anything,” Marvin clicked his tongue as he threw the saber up and pierced the formation with its tip.
In an instant, everybody around disappeared and all that could be seen was darkness.
Darius panicked a little as he realized what formation the boy had used and as soon as the realization settled in, he couldn’t help but feel a shiver run down his spine.
It was only now that Darius thoroughly understood something.
This boy was truly a bit too terrifying when angered…
“I like to call this one the twenty-eight tribulations of hell,” Marvin’s voice could be clearly heard but the boy could not be seen and even his voice sounded so distorted and faint that it was hard to discern where it was coming from.
Darius frantically looked around for any sign of the boy but in the very next moment, he felt an arm choking him as he got lifted up in mid-air.
His eyes looked as if they were ready to pop out of his sockets and the veins on his neck seemed to be bulging out as he gasped for air that he could not get.
Since he could not touch nor see the hand that was choking him, it was almost impossible for him to somehow free himself and hence, he helplessly struggled for a bit more than five minutes.
Darius was sure he was about to lose his life today, but shockingly enough, before he lost consciousness, the invisible hand let him go and he fell down onto the floor.
But things were still far from over.
There was clearly a reason why this technique of torture was called the twenty-eight tribulations of hell. In fact, it was precise because there were twenty-eight methods of torture that a person would be put through with the use of such a technique.
For a regular mage, the first five torture methods were more than enough to take their lives but since this was Darius, Marvin was sure all twenty-eight methods needed to be used.
However, even if it was Darius, one of the three willows of spring, it was still a bit too ridiculous to say that he would survive till the end of it.
Darius gasped for air as he tried to control his limbs that had no energy in them, but it didn’t look like he was going to be getting a break.
His body started to profusely sweat and he felt as if the temperature was abnormally rising up at a rather fast pace that was hard to get used to.
Before he knew it, his skin was completely red and it was no longer the mere heat that bothered him, rather, it was the fact that he felt as if he was slowly being boiled alive.
He scratched his arms and clutched his body together as he tried to prevent the pain from spreading but it was simply futile.. In the end, all he could do was scream in pain.
