The life of a Haughty Prince - Chapter 41
Atlas went the same way, the girl went and found the room, where the door was closed with a sign written ‘Guild leader’ on it. He activated his “all-seer” again. He knew there was somebody strong inside, so he didn’t want to take any chances. He had enough bad luck from the morning alone. He didn’t want to suffer more.
So he focused most of his mana on his eyes initiating “all-seer” in full capacity to be prepared for anything.
He took the handle of the door in a clutch to unlock and open it but his sharp ear heard more than the clutch of the door handle. He turned his head and neck sideways in a hurry when a punch with a dangerous amount of force slide through the side of his face.
BAAM!!!
‘That’s a way of greeting’ Atlas thought looking at the big muscular hand piercing through the wooden door.
His head was right there a millisecond ago, where the powerful punch just smashed. He saw the hand slowly retracting with no contempt whatsoever.
“I thought I got you for a second there…..come in.” Said a grumpy voice beyond the broken door.
Atlas said nothing and opened the door which had a clean circular hole on it, there were no cracks or any kind of damage on the door except the big gaping hole. Atlas was amazed in a way. It would take an extraordinary amount of skill just to attempt such a punch with bare hands alone.
He came inside and found the owner of the gigantic hand which tried to take away his head a moment ago. He was standing seven and a half feet tall, with a huge burly well-developed body. He didn’t look young nor old, he just looked on the verge of reaching his old age with small wrinkles around his forehead and eyes and gray hair appearing on his small beard but not in his head as he was bald, he was just wearing a simple black vest and a gray half pant, pretty normal wearing for such a person in high position. Not a respectable guild leader would wear but Atlas didn’t care about that.
His bloodline was tingling and warning of the danger the man in front of him possessed. He wanted to use “all-seer” to know his status but the man’s earlier action when he used his “all-seer” to see through the wall made him think twice.
‘It feels the same when I first met with Bela. Does he also have a peak tier bloodline? If yes then I don’t know how the king with an advance tier bloodline is handling two powerhouses like these in the same city.’
The burly man sat down on his small chair and looked at Atlas with curiosity.
“so….you are here, recommended by that witch huh. Come on sit, don’t be shy.”
Atlas didn’t say anything and just sat on the chair in front of his desk.
“Come on, tell me, how you managed to get this card off of her. I’m genuinely curious.”
Atlas still didn’t say anything and dusted away the debris of the door from his left shoulder.
“Oh, come on. Are you angry about that? That was just a greeting and also a form of test you know and it was also a payback for gazing without permission. It kinda hurts my personal space you know.”
“…..I apologize for that.”
“Oh, you can speak after all, now come on tell me, how you got this card. I know she didn’t just give you, did you stole it? No, that seems impossible. If you really did, you would be either dead or screaming for help right now.
I really am genuinely curious. Come on, come on, tell me. Do you know who she is? She is….”
Atlas was amazed at how much energy the man in front of him had. He was just talking and talking nonstop. It was slowly eating his sanity.
“You might not know but she is really dangerous, you know, but don’t worry, you seem capable and I like your guts not even flinching from my powerful punch a moment ago, so I will protect you from her. Many strong wannabe adventures just piss their pants from a sing…”
“Can we talk about the main reason why I’m here?” Atlas interrupted him right away.
Atlas felt a bit killing intent leaking from the bulky man for a slight millisecond.
‘ohh….he is one of the people who doesn’t like getting interrupted huh. But should I care though? I don’t want to just listen to his yapping all day or… should I?’
An idea popped up in his head.
“You know…..people tend to die when they interrupt Me.” said the man with a calm but rough voice.
“haa…..I would care if I was weak but….”
Atlas disappeared from his sit and appeared right behind his bulky back, whispering near his ear.
“But I’m not you see….”
The bulky man was really surprised but didn’t show it and only smiled. Atlas appeared right in front of him again, sitting on his chair.
“oh….an ‘A’ tier space symbol user huh. Pretty rare…. so that’s how you caught her eye. Explains a lot but that still isn’t enough reason for her to give this card but I won’t dig more on that topic now.” said the man with a big smile still etched on his face.
“I apologize for my talking habit. People don’t talk to me much, so sometimes I become a chitter chat.” Said the man a bit apologetically.
“no…we can talk like this, But later. I’m curious about the card for now.”
The man was surprised showing perfectly on his face. He wasn’t this much surprised even when he saw the legendary ‘blink’ skill being used right in front of him, he was really surprised to such a level.
“Are you serious?” asked the man in confusion.
He knew how annoying he was when he starts talking and people tend to either ignore him or only listen to him in fear. Now listening to this new unknown fella, His smile got even wider and wider.
“I’m starting to like you. I will forget your offense just a moment ago when you interrupted me.”
Atlas only smiled within his mask.
‘Of course, I will talk and listen to a guild leader who has a loose lip and also have access to info on one of the largest organizations on human society. Lucky me. Others might get annoyed but I will take it as an opportunity.
But I will have to use my specter aura from time to time to not lose my sanity along the way.’
As he was planning his scheme. The burly man took the card and burned it, taking Atlas for a surprise. The burly man looked at him knowing he might have been confused with his actions.
“Don’t worry, it’s just a protocol among high-ranked adventurers like us. This card is only for one-time use. You will understand as I will explain later.”
Atlas only nodded, still ready to take any info he got.
“First of all, what was your name again, Mr. Prince was it? Pretty cringe name, honestly.”
“That’s rude…” Atlas said with an offended tone.
‘The girls didn’t say anything when they heard my pen name or did they?’
“Sorry, I have an honest tongue. But it kinda suits you though. You give…. a princely aura I suppose. Are you a runaway royalty or something?”
“Don’t worry I’m not,” Atlas said with confidence.
“Oh thank god….royalties are a pain in the ass, you know. Both nobles and royalties always tend to look down upon everyone who aren’t them. They are really annoying to handle. The king here is kinda good I suppose. So I like this place and decided to take my position here but it all changed when ‘she’ arrived…”
The man became lost in deep thought all of a sudden, his face turning sullen each second but changed right after.
“Let’s forget about that, oh, I haven’t introduced myself, how rude. My name is Joseph Bronze Siliphate but people call me ‘Bronze the mighty’. Nice to meet you Mr. Prince.”
Atlas and Joseph both shook their hands. Atlas was again surprised at how big his hand was. His own hand looked childish in front of the big burly hand, totally covering his own.
“Nice to meet you too, Joseph, or should I call you guild leader.”
“Anything works. We are now chatter buddies. Always listening and talking with each other right….right?”
Joseph gripped his hand a bit more tight.
“Of course, of course. We now chat buddies, yaay..” Atlas said in an indifferent voice.
“hahahaha…..of course, we are.” He said, finally letting his small hand go.
Atlas sighed in relief shaking his now red hand.
‘Damn, his strength is no joke.’
Knock!! Knock!!
Someone knocked on the door, while Joseph was having his laugh interrupting him. He looked at the door bit irritated.
“Who is it?” asked joseph
“It’s Alina, your assistant. I have an important message.”
“Oh, it’s you. I’m busy right now, come later.” He said in an irritated voice.
Joseph put a hand on his ear when he saw the knob turning, trying to hide from the storm which was coming.
Alina entered the office anyway, looking at the hole on the wooden door.
“Leader!! Why is there a hole in the door??!!! Did you try to show off again? You know we are on a budget right? We can’t keep taking loans from that witch friend of yours…..”
The women started shouting and complaining right after when she entered.
“I will listen to your complaint later. What was the important notice?”
“Humph, don’t think you will get away with this.”
Alina walked near her boss, with a bunch of documents on hand, and notice someone was also there, sitting in front of the desk.
‘hmm….nice concealing technique. Didn’t realized he was there for a second. Oh, he is also wearing an enchanted mask. Adventurers these days, wearing masks to look cool and all, should have used an enchanted ring or a pendent instead, making it easy to hide hmm….but Looking a bit more, it kinda suits him. There’s nothing wrong with having a mysterious vibe…
Ali….
Oh, he is also wearing beginner outfits, must be new here, but his aura says he’s somehow different. Different and…..charming? He does feel different than any regular man. I wonder how he looks without the mask.
Ali….…na….….
He is so fit and slim and he also has muscles in the right places and that soft-looking silver hair, how would it feel to just touch it once. Oh and his grip on that silver spear. I want him to grip my places like that. Who is he really? I should take a closer look.
Ali….na…..
Oh my god, his scent. Do men always smell this gooood. Can’t remember a single one…. He really is a different one, isn’t he? I feel like just eating him now. Shit, now I’m getting a bit horny. Maybe I should guide him around here if he is new. Aaaa….I hope he agrees.
Ali..na
Oh, he turned. Is he looking at me? Oh, what should I do? He really is looking at me. What should I do? What should I say? I can’t stop looking at him. He must think, I am some kind of freak right now. No!!
Miss Alina…
Did he just call my name? oh, oh he really did.’
“ye…yes, did you call me? Mr?”
“Yes, Mr. Joseph’s been calling you for a couple of seconds now.”
“Oh, right?”
“I thought I lost you for a second there. Are you alright? Your face is all red now. Did the newcomer, really intrigued you that much, hahahaha.” said Joseph.
“I…I was just curious, nothing more. Where was I? Oh right.”
She walked near joseph and whispered some words. When her words reached his ears. The laughing and chatting guild leader turned serious all of a sudden.
“So, they finally did it huh,” Joseph said scratching his hairless head.
“You knew what was going to happen?”
“No, it was just a prediction.”
“Then, what is your decision then, even if I don’t like her, we do owe a lot to her, finance-wise.”
“We will act if she calls for it, which will probably not happen. We will just lay down and watch for now. Just find some of their men and ruff them up, if there are any?”
“If there are any?” asked Atlas.
“Oh right, you are also with her. So you might already be informed. What I meant was, they all might have already escaped. This is Bela’s territory after all. They can’t do anything here as they have less influence. If they stayed and faced her, they will only be asking for death and everyone knows about the devil’s witch.
Death will be a blessing if you get captured by her. So why would they take such a risk?
That’s all for now, just help them from the background. I will go visit some nobles and merchants here and there.”
Joseph stood up from his chair and started walking towards the window.
“Why? You hate nobles?” asked Alina.
“Cause, they won’t leave anything behind that could hinder them, I suppose,” Atlas answered
Joseph looked back with a smile.
“I see, you got some brains too.”
“Nah, just throwing arrow to the dark, it seems I was right.”
“hahahahaha….I will go then, Alina, stop racking your brain and give a guide to your new fellow trainee member of the “$%#&@.””
“wh…what? Are you serious?” asked Alina in shock.
“Why would I joke about that, he is also recommended, code ‘black’. You know what to do. Okay bye, my mate, We will have a chat later. For now, follow Alina. She will explain all the things you need to know.”
With his last words, he encased himself with mana and jumped from the nearest window. Atlas quickly stood up with surprise and hurried to look past the window, if something happened to him but found no one. Only some bushes and grass, surrounding the guild house.
“He always does that. Don’t worry.” Alina said.
“ooookay…so he said to follow you. So what should we do now?”
Alina only smiled and went to close the door and all the window and all the curtains with it.
“We have time, we can slowly talk. First, let’s get to know each other better.” Alina said in a seductive smile.
‘What is this woman all about?’
Atlas looked around.
“oh…OOH!”
And finally realized what was happening.
