The Life Of Tiberius - Volume 1 Chapter 1 Dimensional Convergenceedited
It was the eve of christmas. The moon hung high in the sky and cold winds stampede through the night accompanied by blistering snow. In a small cottage on the scottish highlands, a young occultist tended to his reliquary. Organizing tomes, repairing damage, and adding new additions to the circulation.
Once finished, the man moved on to clean his Ingredient Cabinet. The cabinet consisted of alchemical material, potion ingredients, Material for rituals, and so forth. It was more of a pantry really, but he insisted on calling it a cabinet.
Finally moving on to his forgery and wand/staff production shack, the man cleaned his work space and took inventory of his materials. Making a list of items that had to be added to the months haul, the man soon found himself finished and with nothing left for him to do. Although it was midnight, the man’s mind was active and his body was full of energy. He had been like this for the past year.
Unlike many occultist in the world. This man had been among the first in centuries to complete a magical ritual successfully. This success allowed him to beseech a Witch Goddess, in order to request the power of magic be given to him. Though, the price was a hefty one and his soul was surely damned, the Goddess granted his request and now magic flowed through his veins and once again blessed his bloodline.
Tiberius Maelius Hermina is his name, Titled, Grundriss, the Eternal by the Goddess who blessed him. He was 6’4″ and had a muscular build. Smooth bronze skin and Hazel amber eyes. His father was a roman descendant of the last Rex and his mother was a Moracan woman that bore his skin tone and eye color. However, like his father he carried a strong version of a mutation, Waardenburg Syndrome, that caused white streaks to grow in his raven black hair and reptilian slits for pupils.
Born, in america where being different often led to problems. Tiberius relocated to the highlands to pursue his dream of reconnecting his blood to the world’s magic. After many years, he now he found himself, secluded, wielding magic, and life goals being fulfilled. But, he was still bored. It happens to the best of us.
“Huuh, what should I do?” Tiberius asked himself, “Ahh, perhaps Technically it is the winter solstice, I also have a full moon and Jupiter is rising.”
Tiberius walked to his reliquary once more and skimmed over the spines of the tomes until he found the one with the proper markings. Pulling it from the shelf, he moved back and forth through his cottage, gathering all that was necessary to perform a ritual from the tome in hand.
About 15 minutes later, Tiberius was outside under the night sky preparing his ritual space. First he cleansed the area and made it sacred. Next he casted a small fire spell that burnt a triquetra into the earth
A smile crept onto his face, “Brilliant” he muttered. From their he placed torches, and various herbs in their allocated position within the triquetra. Next was has offering. When all was ready, Tiberius stabbed his staff into the center of the Triquetra. The torches ignited and the boundaries was raised for protection. The herbs began to burn a smokeless fire, releasing herbal vapors into the area..
Channeling power from the environment and the celestial movements. Tiberius raised his power with all his might. No incantations were needed for this ritual. It was all based on the sorcerer’s intentons and the magical correspondences of the materials present in the ritual space.
After a few moments, a misty veil manifested in front of Tiberius. “Yes!” he grunted has he struggled to hold the power at its current level. Unbeknownst to him, due to the overexertion, his body was silently failing. Unfortunately, when Tiberius asked for magic. He never specified magical talent, potential, or reserves. He had been conned.
Taking his ritual blade out, Tiberius cut the cord to his own guillotine and it dropped at breakneck speed. Drawing blood from his palm, he bled onto his offering and the grey veil tore down the middle revealing the otherside. In that moment, death took Tiberius and he felt it. Although, he had stopped breathing and his heart had ceased to function. Tiberius was ‘Alive’
Looking into the veil, and a middle aged man with weathered eyes stared back at him. They had shared reptilian eyes and snow streaked hair. “How interesting…Interesting indeed. What is your name, son?” asked the man in the veil
“Tiberius Maelius Hermina, Grundriss, the Eternal”
The man donned a bright smile and gave a hearty chuckled “Good! That is a good name for a Dragon Lord descended from a line blessed by Elder Dragon’s breath. You must be descended from the Son I was supposed to have with Morgana if she had become my fate instead of my doom.”
Tiberius looked a bit confused, “Morgana? You mean Morrigan? She was married to Ambrosius in the year 1 BC. It wasn’t until the sixth century when people warr.a.p.ed the name to Morgana and the name, Ambrosius, was lost to all except my ancestors.”
Now it was the man’s turn to be confused. He had no idea what was going on. “Have you ever heard the name, Merlin, and the story of Arthur pendragon?”
Tiberius shook his head, “No, Sir. But are you my ancestral representative? The ritual was meant to call the representative forth to perform Blood Fumigation. But, honestly I’d settle for being alive. Once the ritual is up, i’m a dead man. Well, technically I’m dead now or in between I guess.”
The man in the veil was still very confused. He had no idea where he was and why he was presented to Tiberius at the moment he entered the veil. In a quick movement, the man cut Tiberius’ cheek and tasted his blood.
“You are mine..” he muttered inaudible. “You know what boy? I can sense you are the last of your kin. So I’ll offer you an even better deal as it seems that some cosmic wires have been crossed. We might as well take advantage. Declare that you give yourself over to death and I swear on my soul and magic that I will save you.”
Tiberius frowned and realised the situation he was in. Technically, he is already dead. Though, he had the possibility to continue life. He is dead nonetheless. “I give myself over to death” he declared.
The man became vigilante as he looked around. A portal within the veil opened and at the same time a portal from Tiberius’ world opened revealing a great scythe. The man smiled at his genius. Muttering an ancient incantation, his hand burned with white and black fire. Piercing through Tiberius’ chest, yanking him through the veil and saving him from his reaper. And although the death’s portal was open on his side, death had not come through.
Carrying an unconscious ethereal version of Tiberius’, the man rushed to the open portal. He himself, had given himself to death in his reality. As a result, he could not return. But Tiberius, as a foreign entity could enter the world with his help even though Tiberius had also given into death in his world. At the portal, the man was relieved that he had asumed right.
In his world, death was still bargaining with the Peverell brothers at Death’s river. He and the brothers had conjured a bridge to cross the river and death felt cheated. After so many years of life, the man had willingly accepted death. The Peverell brothers, were a different story. Young and ambitious men, the lot of them.
“What is this?” Tiberius had awoken to the scene of the first brother receiving a resurrection stone and being reunited with his dead lover before fleeing.
“None of your concern” replied the man who then casted another incantation using the raw power of the veil. Twisting his free hand clockwise, the man fast forwarded time and watched as centuries went by until he finally stopped
“Hmm, sad. Very sad. But it is our blessing.” The man watched as a women placed a baby in a small boat on death’s river. She was utterly distraught as she clutched a silver pistol . A drunken man suddenly appeared atop the mound and staggered down with a wand in hand. Hearing the man’s slurs the woman let the river take her child. She weakly turned around and struggled to aim the pistol due to all of her bruises.
The man saw this muggle weapon and sneered “Avada Kedavra!” he shouted. As the tip of his wand flashed green, the beaten woman pulled the trigger before her lifeless body hit the ground. The drunken man now stood there in shock. Not because of what he did, but because his heart now bleed from a whole blown clean through his body.
On the death’s river, true to its name. And unexplained current appeared, tipping the boat and taking the child’s life. The man in the veil grimaced. And the people on the river bank that heard the drunken man’s shout, now weeped for the baby and the death they had just witnessed.
Pulling himself together, the man in the veil spoke in a firm tone. “Merlin of the noblest and most ancient house of Emrys. Remember my name boy, as it is now yours. The man that killed the woman and indirectly caused the child’s death is also dead. Go into the world with a clean slate. And consider my oath fulfilled!”
Thunder boomed and the Lord Emrys hurled Tiberius into the body of the babe. He soon surfaced and bobbed in the water, crying out. Merlin watched as the cries, attracted the view people and they hurried to fish the boy out.
“You know you have just relinquished right of reincarnation for that boy?” A tall man cloaked in black spoke from behind Merlin
“Oh, Death. Oh, Death! I have lived countless lives and gave my last to another, yes.” Merlin replied and turned away as the veil closed and he and death walked away as companions.

In Tiberius’ new world. He was being swaddled in a towel and handed over to a magical law keeper, or Auror. The lady that handed him over also gave the Auror a vial of her memories like many other witnesses to recount what had happened. As the Auror cradled the baby he looked at the dead wizard with great sadness and pity. Though when looking at the dead non magical woman or Muggle, he wore an expression of utter disgust.
“Auror Avery! If you will hand the babe to the Madam, please! Aurelius Shafiq was a known death eater and does not deserve your sentiment. His son shall be placed in an orphanage” the man speaking stepped closer and whispered “And if you don’t want to be brought before the Wizengamot as a Death Eater, I suggest you forget whose child that is. The last thing we need is another pure blood elitist taking a seat on the wizengamot. The Dark Lord is dead and you should start looking out for yourself.”
Auror Avery winced and handed the boy over and requested to be oblviated. He knew that if he remembered the boy, he wouldn’t be able to resist the urge of taking his late friend’s son as his ward.

8 Years later
“Maddox Cane! You come back here this instant! You..You…You demon child!” The madam shouted as a boy with waist length white and raven black hair ran away laughing with a sack full of silver dishes in hand. The Dark skinned boy had finally ditched the hell hole of an orphanage and had made off with the squibs silver that she polished day and night without a care for the kids in her care.
After that day at the river, Maddox was taken in to magical care. When he was a child, he was put in a ‘muggle’ orphanage. However, With the memories of his past life and knowledge that the world he know lived in also had sorcerers. Maddox worked hard to access his magic at the age of 5 years old.
Besides the orphanage and the fact the people now called him Maddox instead of Tiberius. Maddox found the new life to be very enjoyable. The night he ran away, a magical bus picked him up and took him to a house for young runaways.
But he soon tired of that place as well and left. He felt that he could make a better life for himself by working the allies and saving his money. When he wasn’t working, he was strengthening his body and studying what magic he could still use from his past life.
Year 9
A brown skinned boy, Maddox(Tiberius), ran up and down on Knockturn Alley. His best friends were the house elves. They taught him all the shortcuts and things that witches and wizards paid little attention to but made their world function. They taught him how to be a lord, walk, talk, speak, and eat like a lord, at his request. Although they seemed like very unlearned creature. When it came to the behavior of lords, House elves knew best. They taught him the perfect balance of a strong strike and a soft touch. When he wasn’t recieving an education, the boy spent his time pawning small trinkets and doing work for the wizards and witches in knockturn alley. Gold was the goal. How he got it did not matter.
With the gold that Maddox earned, He invested in Materials. Alchemical, Potions, wand crafting, and any ritual materials that he could. He bought everything that he once owned in his past life. One thing that he soon learned about the wizarding world is that the presence of magic, changed the value of things he once thought to be expensive. The second thing her learned was that the Magical world was extremely undeveloped.
In New Forest, England, Maddox found an abandoned house miles from a wizarding village. After discovering the Ministry of Magic tracked runaway wizards by magic. Maddox went old school and refurbished the house by way of physical labor. Lumber was dirt cheap. A couple sickles and a villager cut down two dozen trees and shaped them to Maddox’s standards. It didn’t even take half and hour. The same went for anything else that Maddox needed that the magical folks that common, useless, or easily produced by magic.
Maddox then built a luxurious two story log cabin. He built his furniture, counters, cabinets, and so forth, with quality material for dirt cheap. In the end, Maddox finished a house worth one million pounds for the price of one first time wand -seven galleons. He was given a horse, live stock, fruit and vegetable seeds, and grain.
He turned the wizarding world’s worthless things into something invaluable. The seeds of the food they ate was turned into a orchards, food crops, plantation crops, cash crops, and feed crops. The livestock and horses were i.m.p.r.e.g.n.a.t.ed to bolster their population. Maddox managed to grow his small abandoned house into a grand estate all because the wizarding world’s lack of devolopment, so his estate grew from miles.
After building a primitive irrigation system that did not run on electricity, Maddox managed to locate a confined aquifer and had a well dug by illegally purchased house elves. Once the water was flowing, the estate was complete and managed by house elves while Maddox focused on other things.
He practiced his wand craft, forgery, and potions. Each of those concepts from his previous life merged flawlessly with his new world and the magical output was so finite, that it was untraceable
His new wands were then sold in knockturn alley as stolen goods from other wizards. Because of the illegal activity, Maddox charged top dollar for his products. Many complained, but soon promoted his wands as the wand to have for wizards on the run. Many criminals began to realize that Maddox’s wands weren’t stolen but made. Maddox soon became one of the best blackmarket wand makers in knockturn alley.
