Long San’s childhood best friend Yun Lin was a beautiful girl with long red hair with the cutest dimples when she smiled and a thought provoking body.

The two of them had been inseparable as children, but when she turned fifteen she got selected to attend Dragon Emperor’s Academy.

There were many different types of first door spiritual gateways and each of them could have different qualities. However, Yun Lin had the extremely rare Gold Legend spiritual gateway.

Spiritual Gateways were rated from common, to uncommon, to bronze, to silver, to gold and then finally there the divine element gateways. However, besides for the Divine Gateways which were only theorized, a gold gateway meant that a spiritualist could cultivate much faster.

There were several types of meditation taught at Dragon Emperor’s Academy that other schools could only dream of obtaining. There was the golden emperor’s eye meditation, which was said to originate from another world, and secret arts like the purple mist steps.

However, only a few students would be allowed to learn even one of these techniques. That was, until Yun Lin arrived. She was the student council president of Dragon Emperor’s Academy and also selected to be one of the Five Dragon Conqueror’s team.

The Five Dragon Conqueror’s team was the most prestigious tournament team in all of White Reverence City. Only perhaps fifty other academies had ever defeated them in battle over the hundred years since they were founded.

Dragon Emperor’s Academy was located in the center of Heart Reverence City in the Dragon Area. There was the Dragon Area where the wealthiest lived, the Toad area where the poorest lived and the spirit area where normal citizens in between made a living.

It was a city with some modern technology that relied on spiritualists Qi to power objects. If you were below level 10, you weren’t even able to ride the train which was extremely disappointing for those cursed with bad spirit gateways.

Almost all of those with bad spirit gateways lived in the poorest areas, and if one lived or died, almost no one would care.

However, this morning, Yun Lin was sent her with the disciplinary committee to investigate a recent murder. A poor beggar had been murdered by what appeared to be a spiritualist’s Spirit Pet.

“He completely eviscerated her insides,” Yun Lin looked down at the body. “What do you think? Why did he kill this one?”

“Why are you saying it’s a he?” Yun Lin’s Vice Leader of the Disciplinary committee answered. He had black hair and a rather handsome appearance, but what you’d notice when looking at him the most was his stern glower. “Couldn’t a woman have killed her?”

“Women tend to kill in more gentle ways like poison,” Yun Lin saw the cut against the beggars neck and lifted up her hood. Underneath the hood, the woman that killed seemed so beautiful. “I’m guessing-I’m guessing this murderer killed her because she was an easy target. She worked in the Black district.”

The black district was right across from the Red District in White Reverence’s Downtown area. It was a place where people bought dangerous, illegal goods. A powerful Spiritualist over level 70 rank the blackstone market outside where the girl had been killed. Frankly, Yun Lin was surprised the person managed to kill the girl without getting caught.

“Hmmm, she recently accepted a payment,” Mick, her partner said, “Let’s hope this killer is found soon. This is the fifth person found dead this week.”

Long San arrived at White Reverence City a week ago after consulting his father about providing him funds.

He bought Long San a mansion in the Dragon Area of White Reverence City. A few spiritual wagons zoomed by in the street that were powered by spirit tokens. It was quite an advanced city, and luckily his father could afford it since his merchant business was quite lucrative.

“I’m already putting a lot of pressure on my family. I may have taken over this body, but I can’t be a bad son to Long Nom. He’s risking his life by not kicking me out of the family after An Ai reported I r*ped her. However, I didn’t r*pe her! I didn’t technically r*pe anyone! Even Zama asked me to r*pe her, which isn’t r*pe!”

Long SAn watched the movers bring in some basic furniture, bedding, while a few maids from Blue Merchant City moved in. He was happy to have them, but sighed when he looked outside at the students in Dragon Emperor Academy uniforms.

It was literally the perfect mansion his father had gotten him right on the outskirts of Dragon Emperor’s Academy ! He owed his father more than he could ever pay him back.

“Unfortunately, staying here might not last long,’ Long San had to release Xama’s spiritual form once a week to keep her from dying. “Xama, you killed another one last night right? Did anyone find out?”

“I’m good at covering my tracks. 1000 years of memories, remember?” Xama’s voice was mellifluous and completely entrancing. “However, it would be easier if you just killed them. My spiritual form is easy to kill. Even a Step Conqueror could kill me.”

“Because of the contract I got from my demonic uncle, I gain strength three times faster than normal if I kill one person every three weeks. However, until I kill the Dragon Emperor, that time frame will slightly lower. In a year, it will be two people a week, or one famous person a month.”

“So, what? If I murder the dean of Dragon Empror’s Academy, how much time would that give me?”

“Heh, I think in the contract, that would be an entire year! However, don’t get me so excited! I can barely contain the desire to kill one of those old level 80 bastards!”

Long San had inadvertently gotten stuck under the contract that Xama signed with her demonic uncle by putting her in his 3rd spiritual gateway. Though he wouldn’t die if she did, it would greatly handicap him for at least 5 years!

‘I have to just get to level 40, and then I can expel her from my body!’ Long San slammed his hand into the wall. ‘At least my training seems to be getting better. Maybe I’m getting a second hand benefit?”

Long San had kept cultivating his father’s Blue Dragon Breathing Technique, and was getting close to breaking through to level 20! Once he did that, he could try and upgrade his Grey Root Gu Insect and his Celestial Phoenix. It just so happened one of the supplies he needed to upgrade his Grey Root Gu Insect was the first place reward in the White Reverence Ranking Tournament for gifted students. It was called the Grape Silk. If his Grey Root Gu Insect was given that in pill form, it would rapidly increase his strength!

“Delivery!” A maid knocked on Long San’s door. “A woman from Dragon Emperor’s Academy is here to give it to you personally. Is a girl with you?”

“No!” Long San hadn’t had a girl in his room all week. “Tlel her to leave the letter.”

“Long San! It’s me! It’s your butterfly!” Yun Lin darted in the room with a short blue skirt on and immediately jumped at Long San with her arms spread eagle. “I’ve come home to roost! Come play with me.”

“Yun Lin, wha-what,” Long San got sent flying onto his bed before a girl brutally rubbed her cheek against his own. “What are you doing here? Aren’t you already in the inner sanctum of Dragon Academy?”

“Hehe! Investigating a case for the disciplinary committee!” Yun Lin pushed Long San’s shoulders onto the bed. “Shall I investigate you, though? It’s been a long while since we played on a bed, haha! Do you miss our practice sessions.”

“I-I don’t even really remember those,” Long San blushed and looked at the maid still standing in the doorway. “Besides, aren’t your friends outside. They might see in the window or something.”

“I don’t care! LEt them know, hahaha!” Yun Lin smacked Long San in the face with an envelope. “Let them know that my Long San has been selected for the tournament! Haha, now close your eyes! It’s time for your surprise!”

“I’ll close the door,” The maid sighed and shut the entranceway before going on with her cleaning duties. “However, just a warning, your sister might be stopping by.”

“Hoho! It will be fast like it used to, hehe,” Yun Lin sighed and squeezed Long SAn’s cheeks while he trembled. “My warning to you will be fast. Don’t go to the Toad Area. There have been 5 murders, and not a single person has been able to detect the killer. Anyways, I also wanted to tell you that you shouldn’t try and get in the top 3 in the ranking tournament. 4 princes from a top tier sect will be attending! It would be better to try and get the 10th slot! That way I can sneak into the boy’s dorm and kiss you all the time, haha! Just like old times!”

“Anyways, see you!” Yun Lin blasted Long San’s cheek with a kiss and then darted off. “I’m in the top 100 ranked freshman in the school now, haha! Come try and get into class 10! If you do, you can see this beautiful smile every day!”

“Still such a willful girl,” Long San watched Yun Lin disappear into her crowd of friends outside. They had on beautiful blue skirts and white tops, but with extremely expensive golden buttons on them. As usual, she was with the prettiest girls she could find, but she was still the most beautiful. “Ugh, damn it, but princes really?”

‘We can kill them when no one is watching, and you’ll probably get three months from having to kill anyone,” Xama sounded excited and smiled. “Hahaha, four princes on the wall, how many of them will die?”

“I’m not killing a prince! Damn it, I’m meditating for the next three days until I reach level 20! The tournament is almost about to happen!”
