The Lord Of Evil Spirit Pets - Chapter 8
The Dragon Emperor arrived at Blue Merchant City and looked down at the beautiful pearl pillars of the city.
There were pillars dotted along the streets at several points with dozens of merchant stalls trading goods like swords, spears, and even selling Conqueror cores.
“This just in. The angel’s spirit pets appearance looks just like a humans. What a pain in the ass!” The Dragon Emperor’s Top Spiritualist Warrior from his Divine Monarch Brigade shook his head. “Aya! It could be anyone in the city! How do we find it?”
“Follow the trail of blood. I heard this one needs to kill a human every day in the report. I’m guessing it made a contract with an ascended demonic beast to make it happen.”
This needs an explanation. An Ascended Demonic beast was a former spirit pet that had reached godhood in one of the six continents and ascended to the Heavens Realm. The Heavens realm was literally the heavens where all beings had enough spiritual Qi to be immortal.
However, unlike the Heaven in Fables, the Demons, gods, Angels, and any being that reached passed level 100 could still impact the Six Continents. Though they hardly ever did this because it was difficult, sometimes, one had a family member behind that it could connect with.
TO be more specific, and to provide something that the Dragon Emperor didn’t know, the dark angel indeed had a relative in the Heaven’s Realm. This ancestor had found out that its wife, that it thought died of natural causes, had actually been brutally murdered and ravaged by one of his own family members.
Unfortunately, this family member happened to be a member of the Dragon Emperor family line. As one of the only level 90 and above Divine Conquerors. A Divine Conqueror was a level 90 existence! That ancestor of hers needed to get to at least level 90 herself to kill him! However, it usually took thousands of years longer to train for a Spiritual Beast.
“Sir, we just got a report! The son of the Turquoise emperor that had been visiting from the south of the continent has been killed! We’ve just found his body in the spiritual hall.”
“Good, and bad,” The Dragon Emperor’s body seemed to manifest a large dragon behind his back before he held out his hand. “The good news is she’s still in the Spiritualist Hall. The bad news is, that damn angel might have just started a war!”
###
Long San’s body hadn’t stopped trembling since he met the angel currently leading him to an unknown location.
Though Spiritual Hall seemed small on the outside, a powerful Spiritualist probably above level 90 had created a Magical Array to extend the space. A magical Array could be either defensive, offensive, spatial, illusory, or a teleportation type. What he thought was just a small grassland actually had a mountain range behind it with dozens of places to hide.
She took him to one and made him sit down against the wall while she adjusted her white dress and revealed two beautiful white wings.
“I’m dead if we can’t escape.” The Angel’s pale skin shimmered while she pulled back up her dress strap. “However, you’re dead if I can’t escape too. I can promise you that.”
“What do you want me to do?” Long San trembled, “I-I can’t see anyway for me to escape. If I leave, and they can’t find you, I’ll be the only suspect. The best thing to do is just part ways right?”
“You know that you’re trying to trick an angel right? I’m born with 1000 years of wisdom.” The beautiful angel began to carve a strange array into the floor. “I know about several types of contracts they never teach in school. They only teach you spiritualists how to use gateways that require you to kill spirit pets like me. However, did you know there are other types of pacts?”
“Are you suggesting we form a pact?” Long San trembled, “They’d just kill me then! I-I couldn’t do that.”
“You will, and you’ll like it,” The angel, Xama’s hands blurred while dozens of array markers began to shimmer one on top of each other. “Unfortunately, I can’t take control of you, but It wouldn’t be wise for me to give you control of me either.” Xama made a few more markings against the stone ground before it began to shimmer. “However, I think I know the perfect pact. An alliance pact. It will let me live inside your gateways, but leave whenever I please. Unfortunately, I can only be 10 Kilometers away from you or else I’ll die, but it’s worth it. I can’t die until the Demon Emperor falls! Him and that damn council of Dragons must pay!”
“What? What will you do for me?”
“Nothing, nothing but the best for you. You’ll get three abilities since I’m a god ranked Angel at level 10, 20, and 30, but you’ll have to live with me inside of your chest. Not until you reach level 90 will I dare leave you. Then, whatever happens, can happen.”
‘Until I reach level 90? Only a small minority of Spiritualists ever reaches level 70! Doesn’t that mean I’m almost guaranteeing my death?’
‘Come on! Is there anything I can do? Think!”
“Wait, but we’ll still die. Unless, of course, you have a plan for that.”
“Sure, I’m going to let you kill me brutally after my spirit enigma is inside of you. I’ll leave a portion outside still attached to my body. This will decrease my strength to about level 40, but just remember, it will be more than enough to kill you!”
Long San trembled in fear while he tried to think of a quip, or a smart thing to say, but this seemed like game over! Who would believe a level 19 Spiritualist killed a level 59 Spirit Pet?
‘Wait, wait! They won’t believe that either! Unless, of course, you got a plan?”
“I have this poison arrow someone from the Divine Monarch Brigade shot at me. Just say you found me half-dead and reaped your reward. Say you took my spirit enigma afterwards.”
Long San gulped and watched the beautiful array on the floor activate. It looked like hundreds of strange symbols had been etched onto the floor that instantly lit up and caused a large Spirit Insignia to appear floating above Xama’s chest. She really was in the god rank! God Rank Insignia were an extremely light blue! Only a Omnipotent Ranked Insignia could be considered higher – that one was an extremely dark amber!
“Now, let’s do this!” Long San gulped and felt a powerful feeling surging towards his chest. His black robe, that had already been torn, instantly got shredded to pieces, leaving only his underwear remaining while he trembled. “Pact Formation, Start!”
###
Long San’s body felt like a thousand knives were slicing into him every minute that the pact formation took place.
Afterwards, the little bit of Xama that remained, stabbed an arrow into her heart and then pulled out a dagger and pointed it to her throat.
“Stab me with this!” Xama said. She had to be level 10 at most now with most of her power stored inside Long San. More specifically, her spiritual body was stored inside Long san.
Spirit bodies were what a spirit pet gained after level 40 when it entered into the Soul Rank. Spirit Pets also had ranks like human spiritualists and went from the Nascent Core stage, to the Ordinary Core Stage, to the Silver Core Stage, to the Soul Core Stage There were 10 ranks just like spiritualists, but they were based on the quality of the core.
Cores contained the spirit of a Spirit Pet after level 40, and were extremely precious. A level 40 Conqueror’s Core was worth at least 1,000,000 Gold! Yet at that point, Spirit Tokens were used instead!
Spirit Tokens were tokens that contained spirit from spiritual mines! A single Spiritual Mine would cause a war between two dynasties if a new one was discovered. In the entire history of the continents, only six mines had been found, one on each continent. Thus, the value of a spirit token could not be underestimated! One was worth at least 500,000 gold!
“Hmmm, what should I do with your core? You removed your spirit?” Long San still hadn’t fully recovered but felt a new spirit inside of his first gate. He now had three first gate spirits, a phoenix, an insect, and an angel all above the divine rank. “Also, do you want me to kill you, or shall I do it?”
“I want you-I want you to take advantage of me and then kill me!” Xama blushed and smacked Long San in the face. “What, are you a coward? Otherwise, how will they believe I didn’t trick you!”
Long San smiled and gently looked down at Xama’s body and gulped.
“Well, that should be easy, hahaha! I was an evil beaver once! You just watch.”
“What on earth are you talking about?” Xama closed her eyes. “Just make it happen already, and don’t hold back! They must be so disgusted by how you killed me that they won’t question if we formed a pact.”
“I’ll start right now,” Long San punched Xama in the stomach before smacking her in the face. “Don’t worry, I’m actually a nice guy.” Long San smacked her into the wall and smiled. “A nice guy that like what he sees.” He laughed evily and gently kissed her blood sullied pink lips. “I promise they won’t doubt a thing.”
