The Lords Genes - Chapter 5 Training Ii
At the next stage within the virtual space, Yang Jian found himself surrounded by a vast desert. The weather was somewhat humid, while in the sky, two bright suns could be seen coming from two different directions at once.
Around him, only cacti and sand dunes could be seen. Not only that, but the entire space was amidst an ongoing sandstorm. The wind was humid while blowing sand everywhere, making it extremely hard to see.
Fortunately, Yang Jian didn’t have much problem seeing since he was wearing a chicken suit.
Soon enough, he found his opponent just a few hundred meters ahead of him. His opponent this time was a large scorpion which was a part of the Flaming Tailed race. The race was made up of various kinds of poisonous insects, all with a fiery red tail that looked like fire.
Since they were insects, their bodies were extremely durable, especially so for their exoskeletons. Their bodies were also able to produce heat, making them control the power of fire naturally upon birth. Their tails also contained a lethal poison that was one of the universes top one hundred poisons, making it extremely hard to find a cure for.
The scorpion in front of him was over four meters tall, while its body was roughly seven meters long. Its tail was even longer, being over twelve meters in height!
With the spear still in his hand, Yang Jian threw it like a javelin towards the scorpion’s left eyeball. At the same time, Yang Jian leaped towards the huge scorpion with all his might.
Boom!
The ground beneath his feet sunk, turning into quicksand, as he flew like an arrow from a bowstring at the scorpion. While the spear was going for its eyes, Yang Jian was going higher, aiming directly for the scorpion’s colossal tail.
Ding!
The spear was knocked away by one of the pincers, Yang Jian didn’t mind as he latched onto the scorpion’s tail. As he grabbed it about halfway through, the scorpion roared as it waved its tail around, trying to shake him off.
Unfortunately for it, there were no huge boulders around to throw Yang Jian into, even if there were, he wouldn’t be affected in the slightest.
Holding onto its tail, Yang Jian climbed up higher before using all of his strength to crush its tail.
Crack! Crack!
Scree!!!!
With Yang Jian’s divine strength, the armor around its tail began to crack at a rapid pace. The scorpion cried out in pain as it slammed Yang Jian into the ground, before lifting its tail back up.
As it continued crying out in pain, the scorpion released heat from its entire body. The surrounding temperature began to increase rapidly, huge heatwaves were able to be seen in the air, even hundreds of meters away from their location.
Yang Jian ignored all of this, he continued crushing its tail at a single point, before rotating his body to twist the tail off.
Crack!
Shree!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The tail that the Flame Tailed race was so proud of was broken off by Yang Jian in a matter of seconds. With its tail gone, its strength was reduced by a large margin. After breaking off its tail, Yang Jian jumped onto its back.
His fist was clenched as he punched down onto its back.
Boom!
A heavy thud sound was made. With Yang Jian’s current strength, his fists contained over five thousand kilos of strength! Just a thud sound from his fist showed just how tough the armor of the Flame Tailed race really was.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Yang Jian continued to pummel the scorpion’s back, until its outer shell cracked, revealing its soft flesh within. At this point, the scorpion was pretty much dead already, since it wasn’t trying as hard to shake him off its back.
With a single fist, Yang Jian jabbed his hand inside, breaking apart its flesh as blood splat everywhere, even onto his chicken suit.
Jumping off its back, Yang Jian did a full ten-eighty flip and landed next to his spear. Once he picked up the spear that had been deflected, Yang Jian was immediately sent to the next location where his next opponent awaited.
Whoosh!
Looking around, he realized he was in space. To be exact, he was currently standing on some debris, which was the remains of a destroyed satellite. As he looked around, Yang Jian felt imminent danger.
Boom!
As he jumped aside to dodge the attack, he turned back at his previous location to see a large part of the foothold that he had stepped on, sliced cleanly in half by a laser.
Tightening the mask on his face in order to be able to breathe in space, Yang Jian opened his third eye and dodged the second shot that was aimed at him.
Whoosh!
As he dodged the third laser, his spear was thrown far into the distance, over thousands of meters away from his current location.
Looking forward, he could see a small figure jumping off a large piece of debris that Yang Jian’s spear had just destroyed with sheer strength alone.
Moving his body, Yang Jian jumped slightly in order to get used to the gravity of space. After a few movements, he was able to move freely in space as though he had been there many times already.
Flipping his body, he landed on a piece of debris and launched himself like an arrow toward his opponent that was about to fire a fourth shot at him.
Whoosh!
While he was darting through the air, Yang Jian grabbed some nearby debris with both hands and threw it forward.
Whoosh!
The various debris he threw were like cannonballs. They darted through the air, heading straight for his opponent. Ahead, Yang Jian saw a thin figure that resembled a human dodging his attacks that were coming.
The figure wore a thin armor one would see only in sci-fi movies if they were still living four thousand years ago. The armor was clearly made for a female, being completely black with a few strips of red along the edges.
Despite the armor being very thin, it was actually extremely durable and made especially for warfare. It enabled one to freely move as they liked in space and also increased a person’s battle power by a couple of stages.
The name given to such suits of armor were Warframes. Each warframe could be custom-made to suit each individual person, in order to suit their strengths. Of course, there were also mass-produced warframes, however, they were usually cheaper and didn’t perform as well.
Even though mass-produced frames were much cheaper, they still cost tens of millions of Federation coins. Just a few thousand Federation coins were enough for a family of four to live for a month even if they weren’t frugal.
Custome-made frames were even more expensive on top of that. Since they required many different materials that could only be found throughout the vast universe and also required master forgers who were at least a Gene Grandmaster!
Even then, a warframe can never match up to a mecha. In fact, it was a requirement to have a warframe in order to even use a mecha. If the difference between having a warframe and not having one, is like the difference between heaven and the earth; then the difference between having a mecha and not having one is like the difference between a planet and a galaxy.
The woman in front of Yang Jian was clearly in a warframe. Of course, it was a mass-produced model, which meant the increase in battle power wasn’t as strong.
Now, his opponent which was supposed to have a Gene Score of 0.5 is currently as strong as one with a Gene Score of 0.6. Of course, since Yang Jian could defeat Kong Bo who had a Gene Score of 0.9 easily, as well as the fishman under the sea, he shouldn’t have any problems against his current opponent.
As his opponent dashed along the debris to hide, Yang Jian continued throwing the debris like small meteors at his opponent. After a while, there was nowhere for her to run. When he came up close, his opponent turned to face him and pulled a laser sword from her pocket.
Along the way, Yang Jian had picked up his spear. Once he ran out of debris to throw, he once again took out the spear and prepared for melee combat.
Bang!
As he landed on solid ground, Yang Jian’s feet plummeted onto the ground, leaving burn marks on the debris. Once he fully landed, his opponent rushed straight towards him.
Whoosh!
In the blink of an eye, his opponent appeared right before him and waved her laser sword. Yang Jian stabbed his spear out and aimed at the handle, attempting to change its trajectory.
Ding!
Bzz!
Yang Jian barely dodged the light sword, which burnt a small fraction of the feathers on his chicken suit. It seemed like his opponent had an agility type gene, it was quite lucky for him that he managed to dodge her attack.
As for his spear, it had missed its target and was still hanging in his right hand. In an instant, Yang Jian stepped back and ducked by bending his entire body backward as though he was doing the limbo.
Whoosh!
The sound of a laser sword came swishing by a hair’s breadth. As soon as he dodged, Yang Jian lifted his leg and kicked out.
Bang!
As his opponent was knocked back, he took his chance and jumped straight at her before sending a punch to her back.
Bang!
On the other side, his fist met with the hilt of a laser sword. Since his opponent relied on speed, it was only natural that she could not contend against his enormous strength. When his fist landed, his opponent was sent flying and crashed through walls upon walls of space debris.
His assault didn’t end there. Yang Jian jumped forward at full speed, catching up to his opponent as he continued throwing a barrage of punches every few seconds.
Bang!
Bang!
Bang!
Once there was no more debris, Yang Jian grabbed her leg and through her back in the same direction that they had come from. The damage on her warframe at this point was quite a large margin.
Cracks could be seen in various places, exposing her skin and clothing underneath. As he came forward, an arm grabbed her leg once again and began smashing her body into the nearby debris.
Bang! Bang! Boom! Bang!
He then stopped and started spinning in the air dozens of times before throwing her far into the atmosphere.
At that moment, the surrounding space around Yang Jian once again changed. This time, he found himself on a planet that resembled the Earth of the past. A vast tropical island, surrounded by a sandy beach and endless ocean scenery.
Palm trees and various other plants were in the middle of the island, taking up a majority of space. Of course, since this wasn’t actually Earth, even the smallest of plants were actually dozens of meters in height.
Looking around, Yang Jian didn’t see anything else that was strange. However, he could feel the ground beneath his feet trembling slightly.
Holding his spear, he spun it around in a full rotation before slamming it down with all his strength.
Bang!
The ground beneath him shook harder. If one were to look carefully, they would see that at the very tip of his spear, there were flames being spilled into the hole that he made in the ground.
As the flames got stronger, the ground beneath him shook, while the sand started to change color.
This was the first time Yang Jian had used his genes that he had awakened unnaturally. The flames erupted under the ground, shaking the entire island. After a few moments, from deep within the ground, an explosion could be heard.
Boom!
Around him, pillars of flames that were a couple of meters in height erupted from the ground like a volcanic eruption. Not only did flames spew out from the ground, but hundreds of thousands of tiny crab-like creatures were roasted within the flames as they came out of the ground.
Once the crab-like creatures were roasted, they turned to ashes. Of course, Yang Jian knew that they weren’t the only things beneath the ground. Since there are hundreds of thousands of small ones, obviously there would be at least one or two huge ones.
According to his prediction, only a certain monster popped up in his mind at this moment. The Swarming Crabdite. Such monsters were called Void Beasts. The reason being, they are creatures born from the darkness of space and can appear anywhere within the universe.
Void beasts can become stronger just like humans and other races. The stages of such creatures are categorized the same way as Interstellar cultivators.
Of course, Void beasts of the same level are generally much stronger than humans of the same stage. This was why humans tend to fight them with numbers, quantity over quality.
The Void beast Yang Jian was thinking of is one of the many kinds of beasts throughout the universe. Of course, since this was the virtual space, the strength of the beast would be below the Gene Scholar stage.
