The Messenger of Death - Chapter 348: alexander's karma iii
[‘I am pretty sure that we haven’t killed mortals since we started cultivating.’] Al started recalling the people that they had killed since they came to this world. [‘Or do the Ogun worshippers count as mortals? Cause they did have strange marks inscribed on their bones.’] Al reasoned.
“If it is as you said, then your Karma shouldn’t be this bad. There must be other forces involved in this.” Mr. Guardian said.
“Then that explains a bit of my unlucky past,” Al muttered.
“Do you have other questions?”
“Yes, but I will ask them as I make my way towards you. I’m certain that you’re next to the Midas petal now.” Al mentioned.
“Hahaha, I cannot make any comment on that.” Mr. Guardian answered.
“But before I enter this forest again, I need to gear up properly,” Al stated and proceeded to bring the jade container that he got from Mr. Guardian the last time, the one that he was given to store the Midas petal in.
“Oh, I thought you had consumed all of it already,” Mr. Guardian uttered in surprise.
“My master told me not to take it all so that I don’t end up with an unstable foundation. She’s also going to fu – I mean mess me up when she finds out what I am going to do now.” Al smiled as he looked at the jade container.
“She must be a very caring master.” Mr. Guardian chuckled at Al’s choice of words.
“Oh, she is… very caring.” Al refrained from saying something bad about Nana.
After making his decision, Al finally opened the lid of the jade container, letting the dense aroma of the tempting Midas petal pervade his nostrils. Argus and Sakura began salivating when the aroma reached their senses.
“What is it that?” Sakura thought out loud.
“My gearing up, and also what’s left of the last Midas petal that I obtained,” Al replied as he slowly removed the petal from the jade container.
Argus couldn’t help but swallow a mouth full of saliva that he didn’t know had gathered in his mouth. While the Midas petal was making them salivate, they couldn’t eat it as Alexander could, their bodies will explode if they did. Unless they possessed a bloodline comparable to one of the Dragon bloodlines in Alexander’s body. In other words, the bloodline of a Supreme Primordial beast.
Just absorbing the QI in the petal through physical contact would be able to satiate the temptation that they were experiencing.
“There’s still a huge part of the petal left. Hahaha, if I had known that you still had this much of the petal, I wouldn’t have asked these two to accompany you. It seems like I have done something unneeded.” Mr. Guardian said.
Al shrugged his shoulders. “What’s done is already done,” He said and squeezed the whole petal into his mouth, and started chewing on it.
His abrupt action broke Sakura and Argus from their trance. They stared at Al with jealousy in their eyes.
From the moment when Al started chewing on the petal, the unrestrained dense QI poured into his system and traveled through his veins in an instance. He hadn’t even swallowed yet and his cultivation realm shot up from the Elementary realm to the Body Refinement realm. In seconds, his cultivation made a breakthrough again, taking him to the Origin realm.
Al used almost 2 minutes to chew on the Midas, and by the time he was done doing this, his cultivation returned to the Nirvana realm, not stopping until he was at the peak of this realm.
“Holy shit!” Al exclaimed before making loud and long burping sounds.
He felt like his body had been imploded with heavy air and this made his bones stiff for a moment. As he moved, his joints made a ‘pop’ noise.
“I feel good as fuck!” Al laughed as he spoke. The power he could feel coming from his core was unexplainable to him. If not that his previous cultivation realm had been sealed by the wristband, Al’s cultivation realm would have completely surpassed the realm of Nirvana.
“Now let’s try this again,” He whispered and started walking towards the forest again with more confidence this time. Even if anything was going to happen to him, it wouldn’t be able to injure him as easily as the twig did… or so Al thought.
Putting the first foot on the dark silt soil of the vine forest, Al paused, waiting to see if anything bad was going to happen to him, and after waiting for a few seconds, nothing out of the ordinary happened.
“Problem solved I guess. And I also guess that I wouldn’t be needing help from the two of you, you can both run along and find some of those useful tokens for yourselves. Thank me later.” Al turned and said to Sakura and Argus, unaware that the tree behind him was tilting and looked as if it was going to fall on him anytime soon.
-Thud!
Argus rushed to Al’s side and used his shoulder to hit the tree to the side. Al frowned at the sight of this, he didn’t hear the tree tilting towards him and he was closest to it nor could he sense any danger coming his way. But that tree would have fallen on him if Argus didn’t come to his rescue again.
“Why can’t I sense any danger from these violent trees that want me in pain?” Al asked, speaking to Mr. Guardian.
“As I said, Karma is an intricate and yet simple law of the world. You are not strong enough to sense its actions yet.” Mr. Guardian replied.
“So I will be fighting against my fate… blindly.” Al forced a smile on his face again as his eyebrows began twitching. He was restraining himself from throwing curses at the universe.
“That is why you have 4 pairs of eyes, use them while you head for the Midas petal.” Mr. Guardian chuckled.
“I guess you will be needing us after all, Your Highness,” Sakura uttered as she walked past Al and entered the forest. “Chop, chop now, Your Highness, you wouldn’t want to blindly slip on thin air again and hit your head on another tree, would you?” Sakura mocked.
She made sure to stress on the ‘blindly’ in her sentence. After Al called her delusional, he said that he wasn’t blind or deaf, and now that he was in this situation, she couldn’t help but stress the irony.
This childish attitude of hers made Al aware of something, [‘This girl must be pretty young.’]
[‘Definitely less than 120 years.’] Alex muttered in reply but received no response from Alex.
“Well said Miss delusional, keep it up and I might actually start flirting with you,” Al smirked at Sakura.
“It’s Sakura to you, and I am not delusional. My circumstances demand that I hide my identity as much as I can.” Sakura retorted.
Al rolled his eyes at her and wore a bored expression.
“And you better start speaking to me nicely or…”
“Or what? Oh my, I’m scared of what this lil’lady is going to do to me.” Al imitated Sakura’s voice a bit.
Argus held his chuckle back. ‘Was this boy always this funny?’ He thought he knew Alexander’s personality after watching Xander for a few days. But now that he was seeing another side, he wasn’t so sure of what he knew about Alexander.
“Or I’ll let a few trunks of wood fall on your pretty head.” Sakura finished.
“I know right, my face’s pretty.” Al heard what he wanted to hear.
[‘I am wasting too much time talking. Come out Milo.’] Al called and Milo slipped out of his sleeve, immediately transforming into a Persian cat.
“Carry me while we head towards the petal,” Al commanded and Milo obeyed. He transformed into a big, vicious sabertooth tiger that was as tall as a grown horse.
“Isn’t this the cat that I saw with him previously? The puppet that can take many shapes.” Argus muttered.
Sakura looked at Milo with caution for a while and told herself to tread carefully.
Al then got on Milo’s back, and said; “Let’s go… and if you want to follow me, don’t drag or slow me down.” Milo began walking into the vine forest merrily.
“Don’t take offense, Alexander is by far the person with the most unique personality I have ever come across. Walk with him, in time you’ll get to like him too.” Mr. Guardian mentioned to calm the frustrated Sakura down.
[‘Of course, she’ll come to like me, I’m sexy.’] Al dipped into his self-conceitedness and threw his head to the side slightly, throwing his hair back as a natural response to his boast.
[‘I think someone is back to being the Al we know… and lov, lo… ah, I can’t bring myself to say it.’] Alex uttered.
[‘Shut up rabbit,’] Al, surprisingly chuckled at Alex’s comment. [‘This doesn’t mean that I’m not pissed at you guys.’] He quickly added.
[‘Roger that, Sir.’] Alex replied.
Argus had already told himself to not use the normal standards to judge this enigma in front of him so he only nodded at what Mr. Guardian said and followed behind Milo. Not long after, Sakura followed behind them…
